“Good location and excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I really liked the flat we booked here.It might seem in the middle of nowhere, but I actually enjoyed that it was not in the middle of the busy city nearby.
There was not problem finding it - just took a bus from the airportm, told the driver where we wanted to go, and also other passengers helped in identifying the bus stop we have to get off at.

It was close to the beach, quiet, and quite cheap for what it offers - we had breakfast on the balcony and a large comfortable bed.

I would go there again.

Well unfortunely this hotel is closeing at the end of August,so that explains it looking so sad but it was clean. It was abit far out of town we would walk down and get a taxi back. The staff were very friendly and helpfull.

Room 106 - great sea views over the dunes. This is our second time at the Caleta Del Mar. First time in an apartment, which are lovely. This time in a studio and I agree with current reviews that the studios are tired and ready for a refurbishment/upgrade. The staff are very friendly and the staff clean the studios and replace towels daily. Ash for the remote for TV but channels are entirely Spanish. Ask for the wifi code from reception and sit inside for better reception. There are a few books available in reception in English and other languages.
We got a taxi from the airport, however, Javier on reception booked us a transfer to get back to the airport at only 23euros for two, which was direct and very prompt. The pool bar is rubbish and very expensive for both food and drinks.
Hiperdino supermarket was a 15min walk, The new corkys bar a 10min stroll past Atlantis Bahia real hotel ( same side). 2 euros for large beer and they also do cider.
We walked into town in 20mins. We enjoy walking, so no big deal. Husband paid for 2 weeks windsurfing at Flag beach, expensive, equipment tired and limited stock.
Next time rene egli and sotovento for the sports.

Room Tip: Room 106 for view. Don't book breakfast. Book transfers rather than taxis

I booked this with Travel Republic who charged me extra for a sea / garden view. The receptionist explained that they charge the same for all rooms because all rooms have at least a garden view...
The room looked like it had been flooded at one time because the bottom of some units had about four inches of water damage and the front door was difficult to open and close because it had swolen - Dont get me wrong - the room was clean, it had just seen better days. I then found out off the receptionist that they are closing down in September and it will re open as a "Men Only" Nudist hotel (if you get my drift....)
This would explain the lack of maintenance.
I went looking for the Gym and Sauna. The Sauna was locked off and un usable and the gym was an empty room. (I'll be speaking to Travelrepublic about this...)
Breakfast was also a joke. It was a tray of slightly stale bread and some cheese slices and some ham, and jam. it was served at the pool bar - which means it was outside. Considering you can get a Full english for a couple of euros anywhere, it was a waste
I was fully aware of its location. Its literally the last hotel in Corralejo before you head off to the Dunes. As others have said its 4 or 5 Euros for a Taxi and the reception does close fairly early.
If the Hotel life is an important part of your holidy, go somewhere else, if (like me) its a bed for the night so you can explore Fuerteventura, you could do worse - well - you probably couldnt do WORSE, but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Dont pay for Breakfast, Dont expect a Gym or Sauna, I Requested a sea view and i also emailed the ho...

We regularly holiday in Fuerte and have tried a number of accomodations but always come back to Caleta in Correlgo. Being on the edge of the resort it is quiet and has superb views of the conservation area ie it is only a stumble away from the best beach in the resort! Granted the accomodation itself is very tired but the staff are friendly, it is cleaned regularly, the pool area is very good and it has good facilities for self-catering (they don't charge extra for Spanish tv either!) It'll cost you 5 euros via taxi to the centre of the resort, which has good music venues, but Campanario shopping centre, with a good supermarket, is also walkable. If you go, say hello to the grey cat, who we nickmaned "Fifty!" He's a bit fickle but likes a drop of milk and will join you on the sofa!

Caleta del Mar is a small complex of apartments literally right on the edge of Correlejo, so it's perfect if you want quiet, and to walk to the huge natural beaches outside town but you probably need a taxi to get to the supermarket. The complex is fairly old hence the very reasonable rates. Staff were delightful. Free wifi 24hrs at/near reception, which was a big bonus for me. I hired a car which made life much easier. My apartment was fine but needed a lot of airing and incense to make it comfortable. It was very clean tho and perfectly well-equiped for cooking and eating in. Mattresses were not that great.

Room Tip: Apartments 1 - 8 and 101 - 108 have balconies/terraces facing east, if you like morning sun. 15-22...

My wife & I booked this week holiday to Caleta del Mar, my wife is a sun worshipper so the setting was ideal.
The hotel is mainly used by surfers, we are not, but we had a superb time walked every day along the beach and my wife enjoyed her swims in the sea during our return walks.
All being equal we will return next year, as it is our kind of holiday.
We were on accommodation only as we like to walk and choose what we want to eat on a nightly basis.
Accommodation was basic, clean and room well looked after on a daily basis.

Room Tip: A nice quiet hotel not many children due to being mainly a surfer's place, poolside excellent it...
