just got back from a week in Fuerteventura and stayed in this hotel, unfortunately there was no wow factor as you walk in!!! We wanted an all inclusive break in the sun without spending a fortune and thought from the brochure that this hotel was the perfect choice. The staff do an excellent job but are run off their feet trying to cover everything, management should do something about that or risk losing them and more importantly their guests!! The hotel is well placed for the beaches and a short walk will take you where you want to go in a matter of minutes, we didn't eat out as we were all inclusive. The food was a bit predictable and the drinks were good with a different cocktail of the day every day. Gary the entertainer did a good job and kept everybody entertained with bingo and quizzes in the evenings. Everybody was friendly and we met some really nice people who i'm sure we'll keep in touch with. Do the free PAL(pure authentic lambswool)trip just pay for lunch and you get a trip round most of the island, you have to listen to an hours worth of sales talk about the product but are not pressured into buying anything. If you do any trips on sunday or Monday then not a lot will be open especially the museums. If you are on a budget then this hotel is the place for you but be prepared it is looking a bit tired and in need of a makeover, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for!

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the bar on the other side of the swimming pool

Just back from a week at Dunas Caleta.Travelled with my wife and 2 kids (19 & 15) as well as the in-laws and we all had a nice holiday. Yes, as many have said, the place is tired and in need of some TLC but for the price we paid for a week all inclusive it would be ridiculous to expect that we were going to be staying in the Ritz!! The resort is well located, central to most things, and has been separated into two now so there is only one pool (which I did brave and wasn't all that cold!!)

The food was actually pretty good (if a bit predictible) and we never had a meal where any of us didn't find something to eat. The drinks were fine, the staff were all nice enough and the cleaners kept the rooms clean.

Special mention to Gary who knew all our names from the moment we met him and always tried his best to keep everyone entertained (he also took great pleasure in making fun of my daughter 'Jazz' which made me laugh...!). The volcano walk he does on a Monday is a good way to fill a few hours as well as being good exercise and providing some fabulous views though I'm sure Gary is on a commission on how many times he can mention "the film Exodus starring Christian Bale"..!!!! We met some nice people and everyone seemed to be in a good mood which is usually a good sign that ereryone's happy!

The resort of Corralejo is nice and I'm sure that if we weren't all inclusive we would have eaten out in some of the lovely looking restaurants and tapas bars near the harbour. The beaches are also very good - in particular the long sandy beach with the sand dunes which is worth walking a mile or so to get to.

In summary, if you're a fuss pot who expects perfection from a budget hotel go somewhere else. If not, you could do a lot worse than visit this one!

Room Tip: We had rooms C21 - C23 with a connecting door which were spacious and comfortable.

2nd visit to the complex and we had a great time.
Yes the rooms are a little tired, yes the pool was on the cold side, but what the eck do people want? The place is very central, the food is very good considering the rating. now my advice to all the moaners is this; if you want a la carte cuisine then go to a complex that claims 5 star and pay for it, period. If you want a 4 poster bed with all the trimmings, then stay at home, period. If you want a very good base that is friendly, clean, has stuff going on through the day with the mad Scotsman, is central for all bars, shops and restaurants, then this is a very good choice.
We had a week at the end of Feb, our rooms were fantastic (thanks Jayne your a star), overlooking the pool area. Gary the entertainer is always on the go and is very friendly, the staff work none stop to make your stay as pleasant as possible. So why do people leave bad reviews?
Maybe they expect the Ritz who knows, but take it from me, if the complex was worthy of a bad review then I would deffo leave one but I don't think it is.
I asked about the pool and apparently they are waiting for a part that acclimatises the pool, so hopefully that particular issue will soon be resolved.
We found the food good, if we didn't fancy it we ate out, simples!
Yes you do have to pay for the TV but we didn't go to Fuerte to watch it so no probs there.
So, if you want a good base at a good price then give the place a go.

Just returned from Dunas Caleta and what a lovely holiday. It was so friendly and Gary kept everyone amused. The apartments were lovely and clean as was the whole complex. The food was good and to all tastes.I went with 3 of my sons and 2 of my grandchildren. We all enjoyed it and the youngest (who is 7) wanted to stay for 10 years. It may only be a 2 star, but its one of the nicest places I have been. Looking to go back there in September/ October.

Room Tip: We had C17/C19 as they have a connecting door.Plenty of room for us.

Great week spent at Dunas Caleta.
Food was really good and lots of variety. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. My hat goes off to Gary who made sure he knew everyone's name and kept everyone entertained.
Rooms were very clean and tidy.
We will defiantly be back.
