On arrival (March 15) we were checked in very quickly. Due to flight being delayed we had missed dinner. However within 5 minutes of arriving in our room staff brought 2 plates of delicious hot food for us.
Our room was absolutely fine, didnt have a problem other than we felt we could maybe get a better location so asked about this and got moved up a floor in the morning to 301. (without having to pay extra and without any fuss).Didnt have a pool view, but wasnt overlooked and it got the sun all day and the very last rays in the evening. We were above restaurant so could see when brekkie was served etc for nice hot meals.
A few reviewers have complained about drinks served in plastic tumblers around the pool area.....think about this, what if you dropped a glass........
Evening entertainment was fine, a bit so-so at times but theres the town if you prefer other entertainment, so dont complain, go for a walk or get a taxi. If the blue brothers come on...watch out for the donkeys lol.
Speaking of walking...be prepared, we only found a shortcut on our last day. We walked and walked for miles lol. The main road into town, is the long way. All be it a pleasant walk, its still very much the long way. Out of the hotel to the right, end of road turn left, cross over, first right and follow road till you see a lane to the beach...thats the quick way!! If you have mobility problems or not a fan of walking, take a taxi for just a few Euros.
Out of the hotel to the left, is the way to the flag beach and dunes. Again, if youre not a walker, take a taxi. First couple of days we walked to beyond the 2 hotels on the beach and crickey our calve muscles let us know they were not amused!! We ended up taxying to beyond the hotels(5 euros), to road marker 23, and crossed the dunes to the beach from there. On return you can get a taxi at the large hotels on the beach. Take plenty water, and a parasol to offer some shade opportunities. Yes there are nudists, but there is also shorts n t shirts n bikinis etc. If your against seeing flesh, dont go. We heard a few moaners down there lol. Great for people watching and relaxing, and much more quite than the start of the beach further down nearer the resort. Near this wee bit there is a wee cafe selling drinks and snacks, although a bit pricey.
The staff at the hotel, well, I think they are the best Ive experienced to be honest. Couldnt be more friendly and attentive. On check out (22nd March 12noon) we left our cases in the luggage room and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon lounging by the pool and also had lunch and drinks. A late checkout is available for 30 euros.
We took the bus to ElCotillo...the village isnt worth it but the lagoons are. The area looks like development started and never finished, and now reducing to ruin. But the beach is lovely.
To sum up - Hotel is spotless and very comfortable. Food is varied and absolutely fine. Alcohol - the barman asks you to say 'stop' when pouring measures and nudges your husband when your glass is empty. Pool is fine, not loads of sunloungers, but the hotel was full when we were there and always managed to get one when we wandered in. Taxis are reasonable and the bus stop is a fair trek.
Fuerty is ideal for small groups or couples. A bit hot for kids, and again, it would depend on your views of nudism as to wether you would want your kids to see bits n pieces on display. There was nothing untoward going on, just lots of bits n pieces that you very quickly get used to seeing.
(only one negative....Ryanair...left us stranded overnight on Airport floor in darkness, so a stressful end to a wonderful holiday)
Didnt use fitness centre so not fair to comment either way, and as for location, not ideal but can be overcome by leg power or taxis.
Would we go back there???? Hoping to book again soon. Loved it. We are as brown as a berry. Will return to Arena and this time hire a car to allow us more flexibility and less leg work. FABULOUS HOLIDAY!!!
pool view looks lovely. The suites are by the pool and look very nice, would be ideal if you had a...
