Returned from a week at the Olivia Beach recently and my wife and I along with our 5 year old son had a great time. Transfer from airport was 40 mins max, it is the first drop off on the way to Corralejo and hence the last to be picked up. The hotel itself is situated on a fantastic beach with very little surrounding it except sand. It takes 45 mins to walk into town, 1 euro on bus (every 30mins) and 6/7 Euros in taxi. The hotel was excellent, reception staff very friendly and professional, all who were english speaking. The hotel is split into two, the hotel itself and the annex which is 100yards from main hotel. We were in the annex in a standard room, very clean, seperate bedroom and living area with balcony front and back and a modern clean bathroom with bath and shower. Both main pools where good, the annex mainly had families in it with this pool being more child friendly, the pools are not heated ( my son and i were ok, too cold for wife tho). Food was excellent all freshly prepared with plenty of variety and in a buffet style. Kids club is run every day 10am - 1pm and 3pm-6pm, the club mainly had young kids in it up to about 8y, they did lots of activities, took them on trips and provided a good service, "so I was told by parents whos child would actually go!". Later on in our stay they started a older kids club for teenagers. The hotel guests were 75% german 15% UK, 10% other. There was always something going on with the entertainment team who worked hard were very friendly and overall did a great job, but there was no pressure to participate in any of the events. eg waterpolo/volleyball/darts/bingo/air-rifle shoot and a few others. Entertainment at night, lets just say it was slightly cheesy, couple of acts brought in, not the greatest - average. Downsides - bloody towels on the sunloungers by 0800, you could always get a space somewhere but it was annoying seeing guests turn up at 2pm to take their place at the prime sites for the first time, but ho hum. It was starting to get busier and I can forsee a few more queues. Beach was great but windy, its not the hotels and there is a hire for loungers and parasols. We went to Baku waterpark and had a good time, take your own food and drink as it was expensive on site, cost 53.50 euros for family from holiday rep and that got us 2 sunbeds when there. They cost 3 euros each and you can hire rings for 3 as well, so it can add up. The town is nice, make sure you get to the harbour. The hotel and complex was well run, clean, with a great location. The staff were friendly and professional, overall we had a great relaxing holiday we would have no hesitation booking again or recommending the hotel.
