“Organic Salad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

OK ish place but quite pricey for what it is. Myself and Delia were quite impressed with the starters and first course, but, things went downhill slightly when the main course arrived. I had slices of beef with salad, and the salad was 'so organic' that there was a little live maggot taking a stroll in amongst it. Needless to say, this put us off somewhat and the manager then refused to take this particular maggot infested dish from the bill ; although he did give us a couple of free rather large shots of limoncello. We probably wouldn't return, on the basis that the manager charged us for the maggot dish when he shouldn't have. It's a shame because the first 2 courses we had were quite tasty.

“No atmosphere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We visited La Scarpetta after eating there last time we holidayed in Corralejo. This was a few years ago & a lot has changed in that time, if this visit was anything to go by! Last time we had to book to get a table, this time we were the only customers and felt like we were interrupting the owners evening of chatting & smoking with his friend. The pasta was average - I had penne Genovese & my husband had Carbonara - both were very salty & neither of us could finish them, and the meal was quite expensive. We were ver disappointed & I wouldn't recommend La Scarpetta.

“A small and cosy restaurant serving excellent pasta dishes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

This restaurant is not that easy to find but still it is situated in the centre of Corralejo. So don't give up. Almost always crowded. They serve a lot of pasta and spagetti dishes with fish, see-food or meat. Very good wine!

“Super Mario!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

This place is hard to find but you will be in Italian heaven when you do ( go down the strip and turn left after corner rock and it's hidden away inside a small shopping centre across the road ), Mario is so passionate about his food, mouth-watering fish and seafood, fresh pasta so light it floats... wine-drinkers heaven with so much choice, we had tagliatelle con pesce spade e gamberi and linguine volgole with the biggest frshest clams i have ever seen, my dish was drizzled in cream sauce and flambe'd in cava, the excellent food was washed down with Marios suggestion, a Spanish white Albarino called 'Viega Serantes' , i'll be hunting that down soon enough in the UK... delicious. I can't tell you enough how patient Mario was, especially as we had to endure a Danish woman on the next table who critisized evety single thing!!! , she was even given the red wine free as despite insisting on ordering it she decided she didn;t like it nor the starters ( i could have screamed ). On a par with Pasqualina on the harbour for TOTALLY authentic Italian food made and served by Italians who know how to cook! Bravo!
