“Ideal location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

We have just returned from a week all inclusive at the Aparthotel Brisamar in Coralejo. (16/4/12)
Reception was speedy and efficient and the girl offered to take our bags to our apartment if we needed help. (we're two helpless females!)
We had emailed to request an apartment on the upper floor and got it. We had a few minor issues which were dealt with immediately.
The one bedroom apartment was spacious and very clean. No air con which would make the bedroom unbearable in high season.
The large pool area was very clean but the pool itself was freezing.
Nobody needed to reserve sunbeds as there were plenty but I'm ashamed to say the Brits were the worst for hogging their 'spot'
The majority of guests were German and French but that didn't stop us making great friends with some of them.
The food in the restaurant for the first few days was disappointing but then a new chef was appointed. What a difference! The food was hot, varied and tasty. Beer, wine and sangria (lovely) was on tap as well as soft drinks and they didn't mind us filling up our water bottles either!
Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, full English, fruit, cereals, ham, cheese, etc.
The snack bar run very efficiently by Isa was great
Wasn't too keen on the 'Theater' as it was dark and dingy because it was below ground, however, we had lots of fun quiz nights and learned how to salsa with Fransisco.
The Brisamar is central for everything from shops, water park, beach and harbour.
I would recommend this aparthotel in an instant!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms 501-512 as they face the pool and get sun all day.

We are a family (2 adults/2 children aged 9 & 11) just returned last week from an all inclusive stay at this hotel. We had a lovely time here with a very clean and spacious apartment. Greeted in a friendly manner and check in was quick. Beds comfy, rooms cleaned every day (except Sundays) and lots of clean towels. Food was ok, something different every night (could do with being hotter but overall fine). Desserts could also be better but our children were happy eating ice cream. All inclusive drinks and snacks great. Animation/entertainment was a let down but your holiday is what you make it. Our children either played in pool, played sqaush, football, table tennis so didnt seem to mind not having someone to get them up and about. Met some lovely, friendly people. Guests were a mixture of nationalities, no fuss to rush for sun loungers or food but was beginning to get busier a couple of days before we left. Brisamar in a great location. Small beach which is a 10 min walk from the hotel or you can catch a bus to the gorgeous golden sand dunes which also takes about 10 mins. Bus runs every half hr. The shops and bars and just round the corner (5min walk) and the harbour is a 15 min walk away. All friendly people. Overall we had a lovely holiday, weather was hot but windy. Would return to this hotel and recommend to all.

We are a family with two young children and came back from a lovely holiday at the Brisamar in february.even though the weather wasnt good.
The hotel was not too big .it was very clean and nice large apartments.
It was so nice to go to a hotel that had a nice mix of guests with different nationalities all catered for.
The children had a ball although i was glad i took there wet suits as the pool was FREEZING!!!! Not that that stopped them.
The pool bar and snacks were excellent and the Restuarant had a good selection of food . We went All Inclusive which weve done lots of times and I was impressed with the food which usually takes some doing!. My kids fell in love with carlos the waiter and all the staff were approachable and helpfull.
In february the entertainments were limited but the facilities were excellent.
The hotel was not to noisy especially if you have young children and the resort was lively, bustling with lots to do especially water sports. we went scuba diving with Axel who comes to the hotel and can be highly recommended.
We booked through lowcost holidays and for the price this hotel is excellent.
For the first time ever we came home and immediatly booked again for june hopefully with a bit more sunshine.
Thanx again Brisamar for a great holiday see you all in june

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are great with young children

We have just returned from 11 days of sun, sea, and relaxation in this aparthotel. From the moment we arrived we had a good feeling about the place. We were quite anxious as we had read some reviews which were not representative of the great place the Brisamar is. We booked through lowcostholidays.com and got a fantastic offer. We booked our flights in November and got very good rates, so what more could we ask for in the dreary month of March. We were not expecting 5 star quality but were really impressed by the large 1 bed apartment we were allocated. We had asked for an upper floor and got it. We have stayed twice in the 4 star hotel less than 5 minutes walk from the Brisamar (including at Christmas time) and although there was a greater qualtity of food there, it did not match the quality of the food in the Brisamar. We had lovely meat, fish, salads, rice dishes, potatoe dishes, best quality vegetable dishes, and as for the desserts and breads, we could not have asked for more. We were on an all-inclusive package so we could have gone 11 days without spending a penny more than we paid for our package. However, we did have 3 meals out (including the posh 4 star out on the beach which cost €30 for dinner without drink) and were glad to come back to the Brisamar. I agree it does not have the "bling" of the 4 star but we could not have stayed for 3 nights there for the cost we paid for 11 days in Brisamar. The pool area is great, and for those who want to "snack" throughout the afternoon there is plenty to choose from - plus free drinks for the all-inclusive guests. The girl at the pool bar is lovely, as are the checking in staff.
We cannot wait to return to the island and particularly the Brisamar. This was our 8 visit to the island and thank you all at Brisamar for making it so enjoyable for us.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor, not overlooking the main road in Corralejo

Just back after a week A1 at Brisimar . It is in a great location & only minutes from the sea & habour .

The Good Points .
______________

The Apartments are spacious & clean nice comfy beds and cleaned regularly .They don't have air conditioning or heating. if you go SC the cooking facilities are limited with no toaster or microwave .

The pool and pool area are spotlessly clean as is the pool bar where snacks and drinks are available from 11 am until 6pm .

The staff are all helpful and very pleasant . Check in was quick & easy .

Now For The Bad Points .

_________

Food is repetative, fatty, lacks choice & ALWAYS COLD.( had to use the microwave every meal to heat up )

Pork /fish./pasta & rice are served most days for both lunch & dinner with a choice of salads /bread & fruit ( not always fresh ) . which is fine for a couple of days but by day four we started to eat out just to taste something different .

Breakfast is full English /cereals/cold meat/cheese .

For some reason the lovely pool bar is closed at 6pm . Between then & 8.30 pm the only place to have a pre dinner drinks is outside of the resteraunt which is below ground and not at all inviting .

At 8.30 the ANIMATION BAR opens . This is also below groung just along from the resteraunt .

It's a large dingy very depressing room a little like a working mens club with orange walls and matching lighting ( hope im painting the picture )

Worse the" entertainment ( said in the loosest of terms ) is a large projector screen where old music clips are played to the point where I thought my ears would bleed !!

One night we were subjected to Tom & Jerry cartoons , another was Abba film and some obscure band from the early 70s

I wondered if by closing the pool bar at 6 and opening the animation bar is a deliberate ploy to drive people away and keep the drinks cost down , if so it certainly works with many people opting to go out .

There was no entertainment during the day .

We found a lovely bar along the sea front called AGUA . 250 euros for a large beer & 5.00 for equisite cocktails both served with complementary nibbles . It has a brilliant atmosphere and a great place to watch the moon rise over the horizon .

As for Brisamar . The complex has the potential to be great place to stay , but only if they greatly improve the food/ close the animation bar & open the pool bar in the evening

For these reasons I would not recommend All inclusive and personally will not return

However if you want a nice base to stay & are prepaired to eat/ drink out the Brisamar is in a great location .

Room Tip: Request pool facing upper floor room . Be prepared to eat/drink out ,

When we arrived at brisamar the staff at reception were helpful in explaining about all - inclusive and what times meals were, and where our apartment was.
The apartment was lovely, had everything we needed. it was spacious and cool despite having no air-conditioning!
Our balcony was lovely to sit out on in the evening and the beds were comfy.
Room service was provided a few times in the one week we were there and couldn't complain - they tidied up everything, changed the bed and the towels. I didn't feel like we needed room service everyday so every other day was just fine!
The breakfast was brilliant - had everything you could want - bacon, sausages, bread, eggs, pastries, biscuits. Lunch and dinner were quieter, but still couldn't complain about the food - always french bread and chips, then chicken or pork steaks as well as spanish dishes. There was always plenty of salad then a choice of desserts and ice cream. Me and my partner are quite fussy eaters but certainly didn't go hungry.
The waiting staff worked so hard and were really polite and welcoming, cleaning up your plates straightaway. Drinks were available all day which was good, so could have cold water, coke, orange juice etc when at the hotel.
The swimming pool was nice - was quite cold but then it was rather hot, so that was refreshing. We didn't lounge by the pool all day, but it was fine going over for a swim in the afternoon - though there were towels on sun beds by 7am! madness.
The pool bar had drinks again, so you could sit in there when out the pool - it was all very lovely.
Corralejo is lovely, and Brisamar is close to the beach and to the town. it was relaxing spending the evenings walking around and going to the little bars in the town.

I would say to ignore the negative reviews, as we found it to be a great holiday, excellent value for money and would definitely recommend it!

Despite what other reviewers have said, we liked these apartments. They were very spacious - large bedroom, lounger with sofa, sofabed and armchair as well as dining table and chairs and adequate kitchen equipment for self catering. Yes, some TLC was needed, broken flooring, cracked tiles, flacking paint in places, but the whole site and the apartments were very clean and well maintained. Receptionists were very helpful. We lost some items at the airport and they went to a lot of trouble to make calls on our behalf and throughout stay were always ready to help.

We booked half board for one week and self catered the second week. Food was more than adequate. Not a vast choice, but we found somethingwe liked every day and again, the staff were friendly and helpful.

We liked the resort and the location of the Brisamar was excellent, in town but reasonably quiet. We had road works during our stay which woke us early, but obviously this can happen anywhere and is not the fault of the apartments.

The only downside was a freezing pool and a mad dash for loungers every day. SOme people even reserved loungers the night before! We are keen swimmers and could not cope with the hassle around the pool and the temperature so we went to another apartment block nearby and used their facility.

Genreal tip: hire a car and try and get out and about. We loved the beaches at El Cottilo and the sea was pleasant for swimming even in February.

Room Tip: Ask for a poolview room on the upper level - more private.
