Michael and María have created a fabulous, tastefull but authentic Mallorquin countryhouse. Wonderfully situated, with views of the Cartuja and the valley of Valdemossa from the terrace, the town is walking distance away. Quiet and with an idyllic secret garden, with follies and ruins of the water mill, running water everywhere and a bamboo forest. The house in beautifully decorated and comfortable and Isa prepares a great breakfast in the morning. The perfect place to stay in order to explore the superb mountains and coastline of the Tramuntana.

We stayed here for two nights - it was the most perfect way to start our Mallorca holiday. Lovely old country house with really stylish interior design. The surroundings were really relaxing - fabulous & interesting garden to lounge & walk around in. The garden has a natural stream, fairytale like forrest, lemon trees etc..Our room was very spacious and light with a really comfortable double bed. It's close to the road so there are some traffic noise although it didn't bother me at all even though I'm a very light sleeper. Breakfast was excellent and it was very nice that the staff had taken in consideration my special diet needs.

Small things: if they had a bit better bathroom products and hairdryer the room would have felt even more fabulous :D Also there is no pool, just one full of carp fish. We didn't particularly miss having a pool but I guess it could be nice in the hotter summer months.

I think staying here requires a car, getting there otherwise might be a bit tricky and there are not any nice restaurants nearby (or at east we didn't find any..Valldemossa is full of your basic tourist-food places).

Room Tip: The deluxe studio on the top floor was fabulous, complete with roof windows. It has a bath tub as we...

Fabulous four days at Son Viscos. Our room was enchanting - a warm rustic feel with Moroccan influence, the comfiest of beds, two full length windows with beautifully restored shutters opening out onto our own terrace. Each day in the late afternoon and early evening sun we would relax on the terrace and revel in the calm and wonderful views of the lush plants and trees of Son Viscos gardens which extend to the river below.
A highlight of our holiday was dinner in Port Valldemossa - the drive down to the port is spectacular and the incredible quietness down there quite unforgettable. The only restaurant Es Port specialises in Paella - I couldn't ask for anything more: freshly caught shellfish simply cooked and fabulous views of the mountains and sea.

I stayed in this B&B for a weekend with my wife. Its was a really a superb experience. From the welcoming of the team to the breakfast all was just perfect. We had as well great tips. The weather was that good but the place made the difference! The owners have create a cosy, "home" feeling, where you just want to stay a few days...you just forget all your daily stresses...We will surely come back and we have even heard that this a some great projects in the pipeline.
Well done for the nice experience!

Room Tip: We had a room on the first floor, very quiet with a huge bathroom

Michael is a delightful and entertaining character who has painstakingly restored Son Viscos into a unique casa rural. The exterior of the house has been spared the usual over restoration and is more or less as authentic as the day it was built. The main reception room on the second floor of the house is beautifully styled with a mixture of eclectic furniture, comfortable sofas and subtle lighting. My bedroom was tastefully furnished and the bed one of the most comfortable I have slept on for a long time. I also loved the walk in shower, which was a clever use of space in the bedroom. Waking in the morning after a restful sleep, I had a delicious breakfast consisting of fresh orange juice, fruit, cheeses, hams and fresh bread served with local jams, all prepared with love by Isabel. This a little corner of paradise in Mallorca and I cannot wait to return.

We have just returned to quote Chopin from “The most beautiful place on earth”, Valldemossa, Mallorca, Spain, with pure mountain wilderness within an easy 15 minute drive from Palma. We don’t normally reserve our accommodation in advance, and found that rooms in Valldemossa are very scarce. Fortunately, there has been a new addition to the scene, Son Viscos. Although calling itself an agroturismo due to its authentic exterior and location just down the hill from the village in part of a small farm, the “book must definitely not be judged by its cover.” When the door opens after going up a few steps, you are treated to the most comfortable and luxurious spaces. In the welcoming living room, nothing offends the eye. The dining room eating area is adjacent to a table groaning with a variety of fruits, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, meats and vegetables, all one could want for a fantastic breakfast that could easily satisfy you for a good part of the day. However, for me, it was our bedroom. Although I will include a photo, it is hard to do justice to the beauty of our suite. While the description of Son Viscos should be more than enough to entice you to stay there, it is the engaging hosts that put the icing on the cake. And what icing!! Michael, British and Maria, Venezuelan form the perfect complementary team. They are each fountains of information about Mallorca having lived there for decades. We have travelled extensively (more than 118 countries) and have almost never returned to a previous location. Son Viscos is an exception. We are look forward to our next visit hopefully in 2014!

Room Tip: The largest room is on the right hand side of the staircase, but all are beautiful and comfortable.

We booked our stay at Son Viscos from Alcudia, searching the booking.com website. The hotel offered a good value in Valldemossa, a high-class tourist area near the west coast. We arrived in Valldemossa in the evening, and despite using our gps, drove back-and-forth along the street, looking for any sign of a hotel. Stopped at the large Valldemossa Hotel to ask for directions (they were closed for the season), and a staff member pointed us back to to the intersection from the main road. Just then a text message popped in from Son Viscos, with well-described directions.

From the outside, this hotel doesn´t look very special at all. But as written above, you can´t judge a book by its cover. This hotel is very, very special! The homey atmosphere in the reception/living room area and kitchen makes you feel welcome right away. What is the big attraction with Son Viscos are the VERY special rooms the owners have created. A wonderful mix of modern furniture and antiques on a clean white palate. Our room on the second floor, under the eaves, had a peaked ceiling with wooden beams. Each of the rooms at Son Viscos is individually decorated and special in its own way.

The breakfast feast at Son Viscos is incredible. Each morning the long breakfast table is filled with local specialties, fruits, vegetables, cheeses and meats. Delicious! We enjoyed our meal out on the veranda and chatted with the other guests. If, in the early morning or later evening you would like a cup of tea or coffee, the kitchen is at your disposal. We were planning a hike from Deiá over the mountain to Valldemossa and made our lunch baguette before leaving. Perfect!

Our hosts were extremely friendly and gave us a lot of good suggestions about our planned hike, where to eat dinner, and what to do while in town. They were genuinely interested in our hobbies and interests and chatted with us throughout our stay.

At Son Viscos you are treated as good friends or family by Mike, Maria and Isabelle. Because of the central location of the hotel, we will certainly take a trip to this hotel on our next stay in Mallorca.
