“Very professionally run 5 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

We have just returned from 7 days at this hotel. I agree with the other reviewers that this is a very well run 5 star hotel. I would also highlight the food which was excellent and surpassed expectations for this sort of hotel. In particular, whilst breakfast and dinner is always a buffet, the chefs provide numerous small individually (and beautifully) prepared starters and desserts which avoids the situation where the food in hotel buffets can start out looking good but gets into rather a mess after a few guests have helped themselves! This is an example of the thought that has gone into the operation by the management (who were always very evident). Other points to highlight were (i) the staff who had the right balance of friendliness and professionalism (ii) the separation of a good sized pool for adults and also a similar pool for kids where they could happily play with inflatables etc making it ideal for both groups; and (iii) the rooms (we had a Junior suite) which was spacious and well appointed. The beach is a short 3 minute) walk away (which might be slight issue with very young children on a hot day).

We stayed at the Biomar Gran Hotel for 10 nights in June this year. From arrival to leaving the service was impeccable.

Our arrival was early in the day at 10.30 and we were greeted with a glass of champagne and taken through the booking in process where you are given a map of the complex. There are many activities which are included and these include a driving range, pedal bikes, mini golf, archery, shooting and many more. The adults pool and the huge children's pool are separated by one of the two hotel buildings which makes it all very private and quiet for adults. There are Balinese beds around the pool as well as enough sunbeds for everyone in the hotel which means there is no silly up at dawn to get a sunbed - this makes the whole experience very relaxed. We enjoyed the swim up bar and the jacuzzi at the pool.

Food is buffet style with show cooking for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast can be taken up to 11am in the morning which is a treat if you like a lay in. Dinner was from 7pm and we enjoyed eating outside. Drinks are served at the table and you can go up as many times as you like. There is always several soups, starters in small dishes for you to put on your plate, mains can be show cooked or already cooked in pans, deserts are numerous with a chocolate fountain every night with fresh fruit. The good is first class and was a delight to participate in. Thursday is BBQ night where the other restaurants also make an appearance. We found it was not worth paying £30 each extra a night to use these as the food was fantastic.

Rooms are large and comfortable. We had a suite facing the beach and the pool. We could see the nature reserve and mountains also so we had the best of everything. you could have clean sheets every day if you wished - just put the notice on the bed and it will be done. When we arrive Eli had made a floppy eared dog out of towels and placed this on our bed which was well cute. She thoroughly cleaned the room every day pulling out the beds and cleaning behind. Towels again are put in the bath when you want them cleaning. Toiletries are provided and replenished as required.

Throughout the day the managers walk around chatting to the visitors and ask how your day is and is everything ok. They will take on board and comments and if possible will put these into practice the next day if possible. I said how lovely it was to see the Chinese restuarant cooking at the BBQ and how they should be in the buffet every night - the next 2 days there they were. This was fab and really made my holiday.

The evening entertainement was very good with Elvis and the Beetles evenings just to mention just a few. Out of the week there was only one lady which we did not really enjoy. All the other were extremely good and worth a listen.

I can honestly say that I have never been in such a high quality hotel where the staff have been so helpful and accommodating. Even the last day we were not rushed out of our room which made it all very relaxing and topped out holiday.

I would advise paying £153 for a return taxi as it is a straight hours ride however we did meet some pensioners who had come on the bus and their journey was nearly 4 hours to get there.

A big thank you to all the staff for making our holiday such a wonderful time - we will return!

From entering to leaving it was fantastic! The staff were excellent, especially juame fuster at the pool bar. The food was great and there was something new every evening. The pool is great and so relaxed, there is also a pool for children. The spa and gym were very good and clean, the hotel too was incredibly hygienic. Overall I would love to come again and cherish this beautiful gem of a hotel.

I must say that this hotel was truly fantastic. The service, the food, the pool area, the drinks, the room, everything was top notch. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here.

Heimeio, Ian, Tomeo, Francis, Jessica were our favorite off the staff. They were always more than happy to help or answer our questions. To get a drink all you had to do was make eye contact and they would be with you in about 5 seconds. The staff here really appeared to care about the guests and that really made the trip highly enjoyable.

The food was excellent. I had read a few reviews that had me worried, people claiming the food "wasn't 5 star" but those people must not have any taste buds. Hands down this was the best food we've ever had in a hotel where dinner was included. It's buffet-style, and the menu changed every day we were there. So it never got boring. And there was something for everyone.

The beach itself was beautiful. From the hotel it was about a 30 second drive or a 2 minute walk. So it was very easy to find and get to.

I can say without a doubt that if we're ever back in that part of the world, we will certainly be staying at the Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa again.

Just arrived home from this wonderful hotel, the hotel and staff were amazing! Always smiling, friendly and there to help! The manager was always around smiling and making sure you were ok! The food....the food! Hmmmm! Amazing! The desserts were too nice for words, compliments to all the chefs and kitchen staff! Would like to mention jan, jaime, jaime 2 and Ivan, truly lovely and very attentive! The cleaning staff there were so clean and need recognition, all in all the whole holiday was faultless! Sa Coma wasn't brilliant but didn't matter to us. If your considering going to this hotel you won't be disappointed! I can't wait to return. Just wish I'd stayed longer! Thank you. Dawn and Michael x

Had a fantastic stay at the Protur Biomar Gran Hotel. All of the staff were so helpful. The food is unbeatable especially the desserts and the Thursday night al fresco dinner by the pool. The hotel is a short 5 - 10 minute walk to the very nice Sa Coma beach. Do not hesitate at all if you have the chance to go to this hotel as you will not be disappointed.
