“Lovely Stay Once Again !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Second time at the Blau Mediterraneo, so we new what we were getting. We had room on second floor this time, would have been better with higher floor room but on the second floor we were picking up the Lobby WiFi, plus close to the lift was handy, so we stuck with that. Hotel has superb facilites, used the steam room and indoor pool at the end of every day, which set me up nicely for my evening meal. Food was really good, Both Breakfast and Dinner, Restaurant Staff were also really helpful and pleasant. Outdoor Pool, Terrace and Pool Bar were nice and peaceful for relaxing, although pool was quite cold at this time of year, due to not being heated, but still managed a quick swim in it most days. Entertainment on every night at 9.15pm and we went a few times for a while before having a early night, being what we prefer on a relaxing holiday. Sa Coma is a quiet place with beautiful beach, as is S'Iliot which adjoins. Cala Millor on the other side is the biggest and more lively. Then you have Cala Bona which has a lovely small harbour/marina with some really nice restaurants round this area. This time we spent an afternoon in Porto Cristo which is a couple of miles down the road. This is one of the nicest places I have been to in Majorca/Spain. Lovely marina with some nice restaurants looking down on it, beautiful setting ! The Caves of Drach are also on the edge of Porto Cristo and also worth a visit.
The Hotel has mainly german guests although we new this from our previous visit. This did not bother us as we were there for peaceful relaxation. The Hotel is just under an hour from the airport and with Marjorca being little more than a 2.5 Hour flight from Scotland, wasn't to bad to get to ! Overall we got just what we needed from our break to the Blau, nice break in the sun to recharge the Batteries !

My husband and I have just returned from Sa Coma. We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the Blau Med after months of stress - just what the doctor ordered!
We arrived on Sunday night to grey skies and it rained all day Monday (sun shone from Tuesday onwards) but we made the most of the bad weather by enjoying the hotel's wonderful spa facilities, which unlike some other hotels - were free to use.
We really enjoyed the heated indoor pool and jacuzzi. Treatments are extra as always - I also had an Ayuverdic massage with hot oils which I felt was worth the money i paid for it.

Location: loved the seclusion of Sa Coma and especially appreciated getting back to it after we walked to Cala Millor one morning - which is a lot bigger and more touristy. Sa Coma is a great place to relax in, but not if you are looking for a lively resort with lots of night life.

Facilities: Great. Spa (as mentioned), including sauna and steam room too, large outdoor pool which seemed plenty big enough for the number of guests the hotel caters for (NB: outdoor pool is not heated. I did brave it on the warmer days and it was really nice, but i didn't stay long in it. We popped down to the indoor pool - heated to 28 degrees - when we wanted a longer swim).
The poolside bar was good, as was the main bar.
They have a games room which we used - see entertainment.....
They also offer activities which are mostly very discreet, so they don't interfere with other guests who are just relaxing - which is unlike some hotels we've stayed at where the daytime entertainment is really 'in your face'.

Food: great choice for breakfast and dinner (we went half board) and the quality overall was very good. We also had a meal in the Tapas restaurant that the hotel opens twice a week - this was part of the half board and was fantastic. We were so full at the end of the meal we could hardly move as it was about 5 or 6 courses.

Service: Was excellent in all areas of the hotel, but especially in the restaurant, bars and the concierge - efficient but friendly and welcoming too. All the staff were so hard working. Staff were also very quick to solve any problems - one day we arrived at the pool at 2pm and all the sun beds had been taken. We complained to the life guard, who contacted maintenance and in less than 10mins, they bought out a large number of loungers from storage.

Rooms: we thought they were good. Sound proofing was also much better than in many other hotels we've stayed in. Some have mentioned the beds. They are quite firm but we found them comfortable as that's what we like. We hired the safe for the week - which was 16.50 euros.

Entertainment: this was the usual hotel type of entertainment. It was quite hit and miss, but again, we could not fault the entertainment team for the effort they put in. We made use of the games room instead several nights - and the bar....

Adult only: another major plus for us was that the hotel is now adult only. It made such a lovely change particularly in regards to the quieter pool areas and restaurants.

Possible down sides: Being a German hotel chain, around 90% of guests seemed to be German, with a few French and only one or two other English couples. This was not a downside for us at all, as we went to relax and spend quality time as a couple. We also found the other guests to be friendly towards us. However, this may be a downside for you if an important part of your holiday is socialising with other Brits. Yes the hotel does seem to cater for groups too, particularly for cyclists or walkers - but again this did not affect us - or our enjoyment of the holiday at all.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but something to be mindful of if you stay here end of April beg of May is that the beaches in Majorca only get cleaned (of seaweed etc) the first week of May. This year the week before we arrived they had a major storm which washed up huge amounts of seaweed etc.....they were still trying to clear it all when we left. Hence, we will return to this hotel and we like the quieter time of year, but we will make it the 2nd or 3rd week in May next time so that we can enjoy the beach - which looked gorgeous where they had cleared it.

In sum, we would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a excellent service, great facilities and great value.

NB: we got a great deal with Thomas Cook - hotel & HB only for the week - under £600
Flew with BA from Heathrow - also got great deal under £300 in total.
Transfers - did 'shared transfer' with the company on BA's website - can't remember name. Was around £35. To return we treated ourselves to a taxi - not cheap - so that we could spend the morning enjoying Palma before we flew back. Highly recommend visiting Palma. We left our luggage at the only left luggage place in Palma at the train/bus station. Then walked the 20mins to the Cathedral and had lovely lunch outside. Highly recommence the left luggage place. Good value.

Room Tip: We asked for a room above the 3rd floor as recommended by others and it was very quiet and had a sea...

Just returned from a very rainy 4 days In SA Coma, but even the constant rain couldn't take the shine off our 4 day break!

Stuck indoors with no sunshine, the hotel has a great indoor Pool with whirlpools and massage gets, myself and my friend treated ourselves to some treatments - I had a facial and my friend had a full body massage, both €59 for an hour, we were both pleased - Vicky in the spa was lovely.

The staff are all friendly, the food had good variety in the buffet, breakfast was geared towards its German guests, but that meant lots of yummy cheeses and sausages - as well as veggies and salad. The food was refreshed quickly, and service was so amazingly smooth.

Wifi is quick and free in the reception and bar, which helped in the rainy conditions.

The beds are HARD, had a back and neck ache in the morning, but it wouldn't put me off staying again, maybe I'd ask for a couple of blankets to go under the sheets to cushion my bones!

The animation guys were not too pushy like in some hotels, there was a robbie Williams tribute one night who was actually really good!

The hotel is nice and modern, clean and well finished, there is a spar shop close by and they weren't bothered by us taking crisps into the bar in the afternoon when we had a beer.

We'd definitely go back, can't wait to try it in the sunshine!

Room Tip: We had a sea view without paying extra, I think the majority of rooms are seaview - 3rd floor upward...

This hotel has it's own pros and cons.
The hotel is pretty huge and I found difficulties till I arrived there. The pool and jaccuzi are together in the same indoor pool (No hot water in the jaccuzi) !! Has very nice steamed bath and sauna.
My room was 310 (with a sea view),, the room was cleaned but not modern at all I was surprised actually because it seems to me from the photos that the rooms are fully modern furnished. Anyways, the beds are very terrible.. I got a back pain :(
The hotel is 5 min walk to the beach. Very different activities and personally I only attended Aqua Gym! The staff speak Deutsch and mainly the residents are German and I was happy of that because I speak Deutsch :-) and speak English as well !
The hotel gets no room services !! Weird

Back to stay for 5 days march 2013 and once again didn't dissappoint still spotlessly clean, all the staff so helpful and happy to see you back, the room was cleaned every day, clean towels and sheets after 3 days, the food is plentiful, very well presented, freshly made and always replenished, with lots of choice, the spa well staffed, and clean, and as a nice touch a fruit selection left in our room.....all for around £100 per night for dinner bed and breakfast....you would be hard pressed to get that in uk with that kind of view

Room Tip: Views are best 3rd floor and above

Had a lovely weeks stay.Great room with sea view, well worth paying extra for a seaview.
Hotel is geared around German guests so be mindful of this.
Lovely pool area and hotel is clean and of a good standard.
Very friendly staff, reception staff are excellent.Animation guys are also friendly and professional.
The only problem we met with was the food ! soups were very poor and food bland and tasteless.
Breakfast isnt good. The large dinner plates are strangely removed and all you have is a small side plate to eat your breakfast off !
Eggs that are fried for you are crispy and horrible.Chef needs to get a metal ring to break them into first so you dont have a sprawling mess of crispy egg white.
Lots of salads and messy food that is no good if you want a good meal.
I was annoyed to see for breakfast a tray of green beans and carrots ! surely that is for evening meal ?
All staff never pass you by without saying hello, manager also friendly.
We would go back again,i just hope they improve the food.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a seaview.

We had a great stay at the Blau. The rooms are small but very well kept and as you can lounge around the pool or walk to the beach we on use the room to rest or sleep. The food was plentiful and really tasty. The beach is clean and does have deck chairs to rent. Highly recommend this chain
