We stayed at the Estrella de Mar as a family with two teenagers at the end of October. The weather was decent, however we did experience rain most days, but it didn't stop us from doing what we wanted. The accommodation was a very good standard, the teenagers having to sleep on the sofas in the front room of our 1 bedroom apartment. There were no complaints from them. The bathroom was very clean and the only thing I would recommend was that the tiling needed re-grouting. The cleaners were in everyday except Wednesdays and then you are warned on the Tuesday of this. They did an excellent job! We only just had a sea view balcony and faced another taller hotel, but we had an amazing view of the hills and there were parrots to sing to us in the nicely landscaped garden across the road.
The food was of a good standard. There were always a good selection of salads, breads, hot food and fresh food cooked in front of you. There was plenty of pork and fish. Each night there was a food theme, the best was the sushi. Other themes included 'cheese' and 'tropical' , which were a bit disappointing. There was a brilliant selection of food and our teenagers were more than happy with their choices. The poolside has a beautiful landscaped garden with lots of palm trees. There are 2 really good sized pools, 1 deep and the other shallow, plus the indoor pool, which was useful if it rained! The best part of the hotel had to be the spa area and gym. Children are allowed in,with their parents between 3pm and 4pm, so avoid this time as many of the children were running around leaving the steam room door open!! There is a sauna, freezing plunge pool, and many massage jets. The showers were interesting too. You have to pay 2 euros for a hat, which you get to keep.
Overall this hotel is a very good deal for the price we paid for all inclusive. I would highly recommend it to anyone. We had a lovely relaxing time and the proximity to the beach means you can enjoy the beautiful white sands too!!
