“Quiet hotel but not quiet during the day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

We stayed in September and found this hotel to be really nice, but quite hard to relax around the pool during the day, as it was opposite a busy road where a bus stops about every 15 minutes and seemed to take ages at the bus stop while people got on. Therefore we really only stayed round the small pool once during the day the rest of the time we went to the beach which is really nice, but when you go in the water it does have a strange what I would call trumpy smell:-/ The hotel also had no evening entertainment on and although the staff were lovely with our 3 year old daughter we had to venture out into the port to find entertainment.
It was our wedding anniversary on our stay and the hotel gave us a bottle of champagne whilst we had our evening meal. The food was ok but I have had nicer in other hotels but it was adequate and we always found something edible.
We wouldn't return as too quiet for us and virtually full of Germans who although most were friendly it was very hard to make friends. All in all a nice holiday even though it was cloudy and rained on one day.
HOLIDAY TIP.. Go for a walk along the path on the beach there are some beautiful apartments and living accomodation. How the other half live hey!

Room Tip: for a sea view ask for a high floor room. We had to ask to be moved out of the first room as all we...

If your looking for somewhere in the center of the port close to all the bars and restaurants and a stone's throw from the beach, for a reasonable price, then this should be on your shortlist.

It's a small very clean hotel, and the staff are very friendly. It's fully air conditioned and the rooms have a fridge. The pool is small but adequate for the size of the hotel and our kids had a nice time.

There was no evening entertainment whilst we were there, but you are in the main strip.

We booked a one bed apartment on HB basis and was surprised at the size of the accommodation with its huge balcony. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel spa, sauna and hot tub are free to use as is the gym.
The pool is quite small but it was brilliant as there was no loud music all day as happens in some hotels. There is no rush for, or saving of sunbeds. Everyone is very dignified and uses the sunbeds and then takes their towels when they go off to do something else.
Food in the restaurant is very nice and varied for all tastes. You sit where you like at breakfast but choose your table for the evening meal on the first night and use it all stay. Well located in the Port area and only a couple of minutes walk to the beach.

My daughter and I stayed at the Maristany for 4 nights in October 2010. It was a last minute booking but we were not disappointed. We had room only which was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The hotel is very convenient for the beach and the port with its good restaurants, even if they are a little expensive. The bus stop is just outside the hotel which is also convenient.
The hotel pool looked good but our weather wasn't so we used the whirlpool and sauna which were relaxing after a day out.
On the minus side, as a Brit the hotel is mainly for Germans, the TV channels were German and the hotel signs and reception were in German. The receptionist was OK not particularly informative or over helpful but we found what we were looking for by asking others outside of the hotel. I would have thought that having the bus stops outside of the hotel they would have had some idea of bus times etc, but sadly not..
However all in all I would return to the hotel and it is great value for money.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2010

my partner and i stayed at the maristany for 7 nights. The hotel and all reception staff and waitresses were nice, however the head waiter was another story. I wouldn't be lying by saying he was one of the rudist, ignorant ( i would even go as far as to say he was racist) men i have ever met. The very first morning we helped ourselves to breakfast (we were h/b) the cornflakes were like rabbit food and completley inedible,we then helped ourselves to a table which had 4 seats. The head waiter shouted at us over the other guests heads that we couldn't sit there and that we had to have a 2 seater table. So we picked up our plates and moveds to where he told us to like naughty school children ! If he had done his job properly and greeted us as we entered the restaurant we would have known where to sit, instead he looked at us and just ignore4d us,Obvioulsy we weren't happy but chose to leave it ...for now. All the other guests were spanish and german and he seemed to go out of his way to help them but for some reason he took an instant dislike to us.That evening we ate ,the food was soggy and again the head waiter ignored us, We felt very unwelcome. The next morning we got our rabbit food and went outside, i picked another 2 seater table but it was in the sun not the one he put us at previously. The waitress was fine and happy to move cuttlery so we could sit there, as soon as the head waiter saw this he shouted at us again, you can't sit there, I told you !" We were shocked and embarresed. I asked him why couldn't i ? it was a 2 seater and noone else was sitting there so who was i hurting ? He then came over and told us that everyone has to sit where he puts us and laughed ! We were apppaled and straight away complained. We no longer ate down there as we were to uncomfortable so we had to pay out for 5 days of eating. We asked to see the manager, it took him a couple of days to see us but when he did he couldn't have been more remorseful and apologetic. He offered us a 3 night stay with our children but eating in there other restaurant so we wouldn't have to see him and we decided to accept as we were happy with everything else other than that 1 horrible little man ! However in returning to england we contacted Raul the hotel manager by e mail to verify his offer of compensation and guess what ? we are still waiting to hear from him !!!!!!!! I would never stay at that hotel again unless that man had been sacked !

We stayed a week at hotel Maristany, the staff were all very helpful. Our one bedroom apartment was clean and spacious on the 3rd floor with lovely views towards the ocean. Fabulous location with excellent resturaunts nearby and beach across the road. We chose to stay at the lovely pool most days and ate lunch by the pool. The beach isn't as good as the beach further into alcudia and does have a slight smell, but the location makes up for the poorer beach.
