“Reception or tranformed shop stock room ?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2009

Now I have your attention. This was the first impression we got when we arrived at Sea Club reception. Had our hard earned wages really paid for this? I am pleased to say that first impressions are not always what they seem.

It turns out this is a 2nd reception/shop to cater for those staying in the infamous Block D or 'Block Britain' as it could easily be called. Its not a bad thing sharing sun loungers with fellow Brits, I can think of many worse nations, naming no names.

The only reason I can think of people disliking Block D is its location, as its not next to the main hub of activity. But for me, this was a plus point. It was a simple 2 minute walk to the shows on a night and we had no sound pollution should we choose not to attend.

There is a seperate restaurant for Block D, possibly even unnecessary as the main one is moments away. Block D has its own pool and although you could use any of the five on site at sea club, we didn't see the need to venture away from a pool our room overlooked.

The beach was a 5 minute walk and stepping off the sea club complex you straight away are met with strings of restaurants and places to enjoy a drink. It is definetly a family resort with the majority of shows and events aimed at the younger generation. The night life was very tame.

The holiday club reps always appeared friendly and energetic and dedicated an appropriate amount of time keeping the kids entertained. The rep laid on to cater for the adults, with water aerobics and water polo gave a nice dimension to a day by the pool, with no obligation to partake if you didn't wish too.

The shows which featured The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Queen Night, Abba Night, Disco Night featured the same 5 swedish performers who would effortlessly be Simba the Lion one night, then Freddie Mercury the next were of high standard and deserved more admiration then the watching public seemed to give.

The reception staff were very helpful, however the bar staff could have been more enthused with life, it is understandable how things could get monotonous for these people, particularly the life guards whom I never saw move for hours at a time.

We had one incident in which our air conditioning began to leak water, we informed reception and by the time we returned from dinner, it was fixed. The cleaners did what is on their job description and cleaned the floors, made beds and brought new towels. They could have folded my clothes up, I wouldn't have minded.

All in all, the stay was one with very positive memories and no negative experiences that are really worthy of voicing. If you are a family or a couple who are just wanting a nice, relaxing holiday this is the place for you.

we have just got back from a week at the sea club, having read some mixed reviews i was a bit apprehensive. we found the staff really polite and helpfull, especially linda at reception. our room was in block d and i really cant understand why people complain about it. the room was clean tidy and had everything you would expect for a self catering holiday. i was so impressed that i will be going back again next year. to sumarise thoroughly enjoyable stay, everything was of very good standard and the staff were great.

Just back from a one week holiday at the Seaclub apartments. Stayed in C block. Apartments basic but adequate. Lovely pools, large sandpit outside apartment which our five year old played in. Supermarket, ice cream shop and snack bar all on site. They have pony riding two days a week for five euros. Had scuba-diving for free one morning. Close to main street but far enough away from noise when we returned in the evening for kids to sleep. Lovely clean beaches. Try the chinese buffet at Lagos really good value and tasty. Friendly staff. They have a on-site clown for the kids. Plenty of activites and shows great in the evenings.

Sea Club was excellent for our family break, no complaints at all. We read the reviews before booking, but they just don't do Sea Club justice. We were in the Block D area which is the quietest part of the large complex, but with probably the nicest pool area. It also has it's own reception area, and small shop. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well maintained - during the week we were there, the hedge was trimmed, the grass cut and the pool surround pressure-washed, and if you get up early enough, you can see the staff cleaning the pavements of the streets outside. Our one bed appartment was huge, more than large enough for a family of four and was cleaned five times in the week with clean sheets and towels each time.

The food in the poolside bar was good quality and cooked to order. The bar staff were particularly friendly. The adjoining restaurant has Wi Fi which was ideal for my teenagers who had brought their laptop with them. For 15 euros, you can have a whole week of internet access, but it is also available on a daily rate. There are also two coin operated internet browsers for those who don't bring their own laptop with them.

In the main part of the complex, nightly entertainment is provided which was very popular, but there isn't enough seating available for all those who want to watch.

The staff were all excellent, but special mention must go to Samir, the fitness guy. He was encouraging without being a bully, and his enthusiasm was catching. The aquafit sessions and the waterpolo were always very well supported, by all ages.

Sea Club is within a fairly short walk of the beach, but it does involve crossing the busy main road in Alcudia, although there are pedestrian crossings to make it safer. The beach is spectacular and well worth the walk. There are plenty of beach bars, toilets, showers, sun beds and parasols.

Our only gripes were very minor - the kitchen would have benefitted from more equipment, particularly crockery and glasses. A microwave is provided but no suitable dishes to use in it. The water heater didn't provide enough water for consecutive showers. And the patio doors were very difficult to open.

Just returned from one week in Sea Club Complex. On arrival was allocated a studio in dreaded Block D. This was nothing like the lovely picture in Falcon Brochure - at least 5 mins walk away from main entrance (across road and dodgy bridge over smelly canal).
Studio v. basic and v. small. Not enough space on balcony for 3 people. It also overlooked barren land for repairing broken sun loungers etc. Any problems regarding locks on door and air condt were repaired promptly. Staff quite friendly especially in supermarket. Didn't eat on site so can't comment on this. Entertainment basic but nearby Viva Sunrise and Belview offer much better. Studios only in Block D - Beware!!

just back from the sea club, complex was excellent and well maintained, D block was a good walk away from the town so if you are going request A or B. The staff where very nice, and the kids club people, well, all i can say is "Where do they get their energy"?...they could not be any better. If you have small ones they will love it. Food at the bar in D block was very good and pool area was very good although it was not very busy so that could change as the season goes on. I love Majorca, have been many times, and would go back to Sea Club

I have just returned from 10 days at the Sea Club with my husband, daughter and 6 year old grandson. The accommodation is fairly standard, but clean. Wardrobe space a bit limited and not enough hangers! The overall feel of the place is very friendly and staff were very pleasant and helpful. it was great to watch the youngsters making different friends. We spent most days around the pool. We were at the back of block C , so a bit away from the pool area. We only ate lunch there which was okay. We went to local restaurants at night to eat and the food was good. What entertainment we saw in the hotel was good. The entertainment team were enthusiastic and the shows enjoyable. The only problem we had was that the walls are thin and noise does carry, particularly if you are sleeping in the living area. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would certainly consider going back.
