“A wonderful week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Have just returned yesterday from a week at the Garden Lago. As silver members of Diamind we were lucky to get a room on the top floor with a stunning view over the lake. The apartment has to be one of the best we have stayed in whilst members even to having a washing machine a drying room, as well as our own spacious sun terrace accessed from the balcony.

From the arrival at reception where we were rescued by Caitlin the porter who was able to force open the padlaocks on our cases having lost the key enroute, to the welcome meeting hosted by Darren the entertainments host and the largest sangria I have ever had at a welcome meeting and even the usual meeting with the on site sales rep ( thanks Steve for keeping it short) this is the best holiday we have had. A big thank you to Helen Smith and her team who are without doubt the frienliest we have come across at any of the Diamond Resorts.

finally if you do visit this resort do go to the restaurant. The welcome from Enrique and his staff is warm and the food some of the best in the area. If there in the evening then listen out for KaeDee who sings there most nights. certainly a place I would visit again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor to get thr benefit of the roof terrace as well as the balcony

We are RCI members and exchanged to this resort. It was excellent - one of our best exchanges outside the UK. The actual accomodation may be slightly smaller than we are used to but the apartments are clean, excellent air-conditioning and well-kitted out. It is easy to borrow kitchen equipment if required, and shopping bags, books and dvds. A supermarket and bakery are just round the corner. It is very disabled/wheel-chair friendly - there is even a disabled chair to get into the swimming pool.
The staff are excellent. Reception is manned 24 hours. It was a lovely change to meet the Entertainment manager (Darren) at the welcome session who engaged with everyone so well. There were activities for all ages and not just aimed at children (e.g. how to make Sangria plus tasting, walking trips to the beach and Alcudia market).
The downside might be that it is not near the beach but it means that it is easy to drive and explore the countryside. Beside the restaurant on site (which has different types of entertainment in the evenings) there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance to meet the different tastes of holiday makers.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor and had a wonderful roof terrace with loungers so could sunbathe up there t...

We have been Diamond Resort members for many years, going right back to Grand Vacation Club days. Always happy with the accomodation but Garden Lago I believe is one of the best if not the best resort we have stayed in. Our appartment was a sizeable 3 bedroomed, 2 bathroomed with full air condition an exceptionally fitted kitchen with utility and a large balcony with plenty of room for a 6 seater table and 3 sun loungers. An exceptional level of cleanliness not just in the internal but external areas as well. The pool was a joy to swim in amidst the lovely garden area. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff who always had a smile as did the cleaning and maintenace staff.

Having 2 sons in their late teens early 20's the position was good for them as in a reasonable walking distance to nightlife thus negating the need for taxi's. For the older ones in the party, both the beach and shops are in walking distance and as we had a car we found it perfect for exploring the North of the Island and easy to get to Palma etc.

One of our best family holidays to date and would certainly highly recommend.

We returned from Garden Lago 8th August 12. Had a wonderful holiday! Apartments were spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. All the staff were exceptionally helpful, the resturaunt is very good with entertainment most evenings. Garden Lago is situated about 15 mins walk from the shops and beach, our son uses a wheelchair but this was not an issue as the resort is extremely flat with good disabled access throughout. Garden Lago is wheelchair accessible with ramps in all areas, even the pool has a disabled friendly ramp! We would certainly visit Garden Lago again and also highly recommend it. Special thanks to Yesid in the resuraunt for looking after us so well!

Very good apartment complex for family or friends traveler. The rooms are very big and clean. There are two bathrooms, kitchen with all equipment. All rooms has air conditions. Location is a little bit out of town if you walk. Would recommend

Booked as part of the diamond resorts holiday scheme. Hotel location is facing the lake but has waste land and a fire & bin depo to the back. It is approx 15 min walk to the main drag of shops & resteraunts but this is a pleasent walk past numerous villas. there is a small section of 'english' type pub bars about 5 mins in the opposite direction. Turn right out of reception to the corner and right again and there is a huge cheap supermarket. (don't turn right or left out the resteraunt part of the hotel else you will be walking forever as we found out on the first day).
the rooms are spacious and clean. We had 2 bed/2bath. Big balcony, glass fronted with table & loungers. (safe for children). we were on 3rd floor.
pool area is a bit small but sufficient, will varying depth pool. childrens pool is 0.85cms deep but there is a shallower end to the big pool that is 0.65cm deep that was better for my 20 month old.
Bar prices were reasonable considering there is little competition.
The bar side overlooks the lake and is very cool and pleasent at night. there didn't seem to be too many mossies (but there was a breeze).
There was childrens entertainmnet on every day. Sports, crafts, disco, volleyball etc. Everynight the resteraunt had a different food theme again at reasonable prices.
Had a few snacks and lunches there, nice, large portions. Great friendly service.
Apartments have all amenities inc air con and tv with all home channels (but you do have to search for them.
My only critism is that the rubbish was removed everyday but towels & cleaning was only done twice in a week.
There is an open library service to swap or borrow books.
There is a small football pitch and play area (however these are in full sun during the afternoon).
The reception area is small but what do you need a big reception for?? It takes room away from more important areas.
Everything is accesible to wheels and prams but there are 2 steps up to each room.
Would defo stay again and would recommend to someone who didnt mind walking to the beach or centre for some action.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms and patio open straight onto pool area so there is loittle privacy during day/eve...

We would like to thankyou for your comprehensive review and hopefully other guests will find this information very useful. Garden Lago is a fabulous resort for all age groups and we are able to offer comfortable accommodation, a variety of onsite amenities whilst being situated in a convenient location. With high summer temperatures we do need to ensure rubbish collection is taken care of frequently however in keeping with our enviromental policy we do limit towel and linen changes. Additional service can always be requested at the front desk.
It is great to hear that you would return to stay with us again and do hope to see you in the future.

We have been to this resort before and are currently staying here but I feel I must write my review now or I may not do it when I get home. We have had every thing needed for an excellent holiday, the staff are alway helpful and efficient ,the rooms are great and the resturant is very good although not massive but I like this. Near to the night life but not too near . I'm sure some people will find something to moan about but get a life and just enjoy your stay.we will no doubt be back again. Thanks again to all at garden lago.x
