“Enjoyable!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

We went here on a recommendation. While it wasn't sensational, the meal and experience was enjoyable enough to feel like we got good value.

Portions are huge so if you're intent on ordering from the Tapas menu. Be warned, two dishes is probably more than enough.

We over ordered and got 6 dishes for two of us. It was far too much and I felt cheated having to leave loads of wasted food.

Garlic squid was lovely but I just couldn't eat it all. Everything else from the lamb to the chicken was all well cooked and tasty.

All of the waiters were very friendly and we felt very welcome. We weren't rushed either and the time between courses was just right.

It isn't too expensive and you certainly get value for money. Just be warned that you'll probably order too much and a lot of food is going to go to waste.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel in puerto pollensa as we were told they would refund your taxi journey if you eat there.

Although it is a very authentic Spanish restaurant and has a nice atmosphere, I do not see what the fuss is about and have had many better meals which were better value in puerto pollensa.

I am quite a fussy eatwr and I did struggle to find much that I would eat on the menu. I opted for the vegetable paella in the end with my husband which I must admit was lovely and very tasty.

The children all had pizza which didn't look all that impressive and was quite pricey for what is was. Their drinks were also bigger than most restaurants serve and hence, more expensive!

We had an issue when ordering our desserts. After waiting about 20 minutes, we queried this and they had forgotten to give the ticket to the kitchen. We then had to wait another 5 minutes and although got an apology, there was no offer to remove one or all of them from the bill which we felt there really should have been as it was not even particularly busy and we were in a rush to catch our last bus back. My banana split was worth waiting for though as it was huge and very good. The children's ice creams however were very expensive for what they were.

The staff were very nice and friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice with lots of locals dining there.

We also had an issue with claiming back the taxi fare as we we were two families dining and we had both used taxis to get to the restaurant though only one was taken off the bill. We thought this was a bit of a con as we had gone to Alcudia especially to try this restaurant.

All in all it ended up costing us around 75 euros for 2 adults and 2 children which we felt was very expensive for what we ate and drank in comparison to other restaurants.

Sorry but wouldn't go back.

“Giant portions - too big”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

Our visit spoilt by the waiter - we ordered 6 tapas between two of us and asked if it was too much.. because you just don't know what a restaraunt does as a portion size.

Needless to say we'd ordered enough for four people, easily.

So too much food, cost twice as much as we needed to spend, spoiling the experience.

Next table ordered the suckling pig - that looked huge too. Two of them each had it, the third ate nothing and just filmed the other two eating, from start to end. An amusing aside from our own food marathon.

Service was fast, but the experience ruined from the get go, sadly. Sure wouldn't go out of my way to go here again.

“Best food of our holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Despite being next to the road the view of the port was really nice. the place is very spanish inside reminding us of madrid. the staff all looked smart and were very welcoming and attentive.
A great choice of tapas and meals. not the cheapest but reasonably priced.
We had galacian octopus, trampa salad ( tomatos onion peppers olives and capers) and seafood stuffed peppers, which were delicious. good potion sizes and great taste. only negative was they did not have menu outside to help decide. a great place to eat would go again tomorrow.

“Waiting for our next visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We tried Bodega for the first time last September. This time my wife insisted that after our first meal we rebooked for another night! Next visit in September, this will be more visits.
The fish is superb. We had Sole and Turbot the first night. The second time I had the Fish and Seafood Platter and my wife had the turbot, and also polished off my platter.
First the service is excellent. The contents of the fish platter was explained perfectly. The fish is always so succulent. Also the potato Gratin and vegetables are always better in our opinion than other restaurants. The sauces that they serve with the fish are great accompaniments. We also had the recommended house red wine. 9€, also very good.
Yes it is a little bit more expensive than other restaurants. But in our opinion, well worth it. We felt that we had had memorable dining experience. We could not say that about other restaurants that we tried. And good dining for us is a major part of our holiday
