My husband and I have just returned from Club Cala Mandia near Porto Ctristo and we have had a fantastic holiday. We were all inclusive and arrived in the early hours and were met by smiling helpful staff and also there was food waiting for us in the dining room, which was a first as this has not happened to us before and we were starving too. The room was clean and large with a separate bedroom and bathroom with shower. The maids cleaned every day although you could request not to have the room cleaned daily if you wish.
It's a large complex but once you found where everything was located it was fine. Near to the beach which was a 5 min walk down the path direct from the hotel. The beach is small but beautiful and clean. The guests were truly European, we were two of a total of 8 UK guests in the hotel (more Brits arrived at the end of the week) .
The foyer of the hotel is pretty impressive as was the rest of the hotel the pool area was great with plenty of sunbeds, no need to put a towel on them to reserve. The staff were really friendly and helpful speaking at least 4 languages. The hotel crosses the road outside where the sports facilities are including the gym and tennis courts. The indoor pool and beauty salon is in the main hotel. There was a steak house and pizza house which is part of the all inclusive outside the hotel but these were closed and were due to open in two weeks time when the season starts proper. There are not many shops near by only a few for shopping but go to Porto Cristo for the shopping which was a 5min local bus ride from just outside the hotel. Reception has bus timetables. The Caves of Drac are 5 minutes away in Porto Cristo and recommend the Glass Bottom Boat rides from Porto Cristo which were worth it. The coastline is just beautiful. The Entertainment team at the hotel are constantly working throughout the day and night, they are very friendly and we recommend the Water Gym in the pool (twice daily) its alot of fun. The entertainment at night was not so good as there was no outside entertainment until the Season proper kicks off but it was ok and performed by the Hotel Reps. The food was great and plenty of it and the drinks too named Baileys Malibu, Whiskeys anything was available cocktails too, there is a bar open by the pool all day long for snacks (freshly cooked pizzas burgers chips sandwiches fruit ) drinks ice creams alcohol and beverages too. We booked this last minute and had my reservations but it was one of the best hotels and holidays we have had to date. Enjoy..........we did would return and recommend to friends...
