Just returned from a short break to this hotel and would echo the comments of the previous reviewer.
The communal areas of the hotel are lovely. There is a spacious bar area, restaurant, terrace and a large pool area with plenty of loungers. We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. Spotlessly clean.
The service is faultess. We arrived around 11am and were shown to the terrace with a glass of cava. Nothing is too much trouble - the reception staff are friendly, the manager comes round each evening to speak to guests and the two waitresses were fantastic. Could not fault the service at all.
This was our first time on an all inclusive holiday and we were a little worried about doing so as we enjoy eating out in the evenings. However, we needn't have been concerned. The buffet restaurant was spacious and there was always plenty of choice. The breakfast buffet consisted of cold meats, cheese, pastries together with cereal, fruit and cooked breakfast items. At lunch and dinner, there was soup, pasta dishes, vegetables and a huge salad bar. There was also a hot plate where there would be a meat and fish choice. Dessert consisted of homemade cakes, ice cream and fruit. The food choices were ideal for the weather and were similar to the fare on offer in the restaurants in the resort. We found the menu varied enough for the four nights we stayed.
The hotel has around 70 rooms but there were only about 20 people staying whilst we were there. There was therefore plenty of room around the pool and the restaurant/bar were never busy.
The hotel is about a ten minute walk to the beaches and the main road of the resort. The beaches are very clean and there are plenty of restaurants/bars close by. There are also many places to eat along the main road of the resort. The resort does cater almost exclusively for Germans - we were the only Brits at the hotel and possibly the resort but that certainly wasn't an issue for us. It means you don't get the rowdy beer drinking Brits you would find in other resorts! The resort is fairly flat with a lovely promenade running alongside the beach and is only 20 minutes from the airport.
The Oberoy Hotel is a smashing little hotel - I cannot recommend it highly enough. The only little gripe we had was that the shower did not deliver a consistent temperature - it was a little like russian roulette with the water going from lukewarm to scolding in a matter of seconds - not ideal if you had overdone the sunbathing a little! But we were more than prepared to overlook this given the otherwise faultess standards of the hotel.
I would class it as a good 3* rather than 4* but for the price paid, I doubt you could find better.
