“A LOVELY HOTEL IN AN IDEAL LOCATION”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

We had a very enjoyable holiday at the Santa Lucia Hotel in May despite the weather not being as good as we would have hoped. We have stayed at this hotel twice previously, but not for several years, so we did know what to expect. At the Santa Lucia you now have a choice of ‘all inclusive’ or ‘half board’. We chose to go half board which suited our requirements perfectly.

The hotel is ideally situated, jutting out to sea right on the beach and adjacent to the lovely long and level promenade. It has been designed in such a way that all rooms, irrespective of which side of the hotel you are on, have a lovely sea view. We do, however, prefer to ask for a room on a high floor overlooking the swimming pool, as this side of the hotel does tend to get a greater percentage of the day’s sunshine. The rooms are very comfortable and are cleaned to a high standard. A fridge is available in the room for a small additional charge if required.

The restaurant is buffet service at all times and serves a good selection of well prepared and tasty food which should accommodate all tastes. It is a very well organised restaurant run by (mostly) friendly staff.

The late evening entertainment at the Santa Lucia, which is provided by professional visiting entertainers, was generally very good. The early evening entertainment, provided by the ‘in house’ entertainment team, was regrettably not too good. The ‘in house’ entertainment team consisted of a young man and a young woman who only seemed able to put on quizzes. They were friendly enough, but unfortunately lacked the experience to provide good quality early evening entertainment that this hotel was renowned for in previous years.

We found the Santa Lucia to be a very friendly hotel. The reception staff were very helpful, efficient and sociable as was almost all of the other staff. We would like to say a big thank you to all staff at Santa Lucia and would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone (subject to noting the little constructive criticism in this review regarding the entertainment team). We will definitely be returning to the Santa Lucia again in the future.

What a fantastic 2 week holiday. Hotel spotless food varied and hot. Matthew the hotel entertainer was great - we played french bowls - what fun we had. The evening entertainment was good - never won the bingo but great fun then a good show afterwards. Would certainly book again and would recommend it to anyone.

We have just returned from a lovely 7 days stay at Santa Lucia .The hotel is lovely great food varied entertainment friendly staff. Our room was on first floor still a good view though.
Had a bad start with my grandson leaving his rucksack on transfer from airport the staff where really helpful in locating it especially Thomson Rep's.The location is amazing with beautiful scenery buses are regular into Palma and only cost 3.20 euros each way.We decided to do the Pirates show all i can say its amazing suits all ages a must if you go to Palma Nova.Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: ask for rooms above 5th floor as the view is more spectaculer

as always I'm uploading this review as I'm on the last day of our holiday sitting on the balcony of our room 643

we have stayed a for a week half board at the santa Lucia hotel and i have tried to give a true account and review for the hotel

The hotel is a Thomson hotel only and therefore is for the english only. This helps with the food and general standard of the hotel.

the hotel is around a 20min transfer from the main airport of Palma. It is smack bang in the middle of Palma nova close to many bars and shops.

The hotel its self is on the beach. When i say on the beach i mean it. There is a small door by the pool that lets you out to the beach front.

The pool is small for the hotel but nice and clean. The indoor pool is NOT heated so it was a little cold in october when we stayed. There is a baby pool at one end of the pool that is separated by a small bridge.

There is a sauna and a steam room and a jacuzzi by the indoor pool. This is a nice touch. There have been various people complaining about some loose deck boards in the indoor pool area. There was one complaint about their child tripped on the loose board. I have to be honest, don't let your small child out of your sight near a pool then!!!

There are plenty of sun sunbeds and seating around the pool. There is a large sun terrance above the main bar area by the pool for those who wish to lounge around in the sun.

The hotel its self is geared towards the the older generation. Me and my family were most probable the youngest at the hotel but it was nice to be around people who talk to you rather than look you up and down!!! My 5yr old girl was made very welcome by all the other guests and nobody seemed to care about the noise.

The restaurant is a good size and very clean and cool. The staff are amazing. Special thanks to Lidia in the restaurant who was wonderful with our daughter. She is a real gem and grace is missing her already.

The food is very good. A wide range of different food at breakfast from cereals to a full english Hot tea and coffee on tap and a selection of juice.

The night time meals are very good also. There is a hot buffet and a grill section where the chef is cooking fresh meats and fish. Drinks need to be purchased for the staff in the restaurant. You cant take your own in. From what we could see if your A I you get free wine!

The bar area is a good size with lots of seating. As always the drinks are a little expensive but for a few euros a day (18 per adult 9 per child) you can upgrade to all inclusive with the hotel.

The entertainment is good. A wide arrangement of acts including comedy and singers. These start at ten and go on till around 11:30pm. After that the DJ played some disco till round midnight. This music can not be heard from the room i must stress.

Matt and minon were great with the kids as well. There is bingo and a quiz at the start of the night for those who are interested.

The pool bar is to expected. Clean well staffed and good food.

The rooms are a fare size. Maid service everyday and the towels are changed on a daily basis. All the rooms are carpeted as are the hallways. This helps to keep the noise down at night.

All rooms have a sea view. Depending on the side of the hotel is whether your looking on to torranova beach or Palma nova beach. Both are lovely white sand.

I would give the hotel 9/10. The only small point is that the pool was not heated but if you are coming in the warmer months then this would not be a problem.

As alway i would reccomend that you do some research on your resort. Magaluff can be a little manic in the hight of the season but to be fair your far enough away for it not to bother you.

We are palnning a weeks break back here at easter with the family.

Me, my wife and our 2 boys have just returned back from Santa Lucia Hotel. we stayed there from 23rd October 2013 for 7 nights.
We had already stayed here at the end of May 2013 and loved it so much we thought we would come back and yet again we were not dissapointed.
The weather was excellent, except for our last day when a storm battered Palma Nova.
You may remember our 12 year old boy Elliot (with his scooter). he cried when he had to come home, (mind you so did we all).
We met some more new friends again.
All rooms have a sea view, we had adjoining rooms and they were cleaned ever day
The cleaners were always friendly, The chaps on the door at the restaurant were always smiling and friendly. Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
As for the Animation Team, Mathew was brilliant (again) Our Elliot loves his cheekiness, Mathew gave it and took it ;-)
If you are not there next season Mathew you will be missed ;-(
All in all we think it is perfect holiday for us and we hope to be back again soon.

Thank you all at the Santa Lucia for a lovely holiday.

Mrs and Mrs Finch and Boys.

Room Tip: all the rooms are sea views, so they all have a lovely view.
