“Hotel OK for price: Staff were horrendous STAY ELSEWHERE!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

This hotel has an ideal location close to the strip however it is based at the top of a steep hill (good exercise i suppose) On arrival the hotel is well kept and inviting with a large pool area and what appeared to be a range of facilities however upon closer inspection none of these "facilities" were up to standard. The daytime staff are helpful and polite however the evening staff, are rude, aggressive and treat guests with a disgusting amount of disrespect (swearing, throwing things, threats etc) the cleaners also take things from the room like change and one of the ladies tried to sweep my iPod out the door whilst brushing the floor. The pool area is OK, there is a bcm pool party every Wednesday and Friday however one thing i will say is the music begins very early in the morning and continues right through until the evening, this in combination with the surrounding bars that also play music very loudly is not a good idea for anyone looking a few hours sleep. i stayed at this hotel for a month, the cleaners do not come very regularly, the pool bar is relatively expensive, the Jacuzzi does not work and the laundry room is not in operation, ever. the beds and bedding aren't comfortable. stay somewhere else if possible, this is a party hotel with terrible staff so if that's want you want, go for it but i will never stay here again and will warn everyone i know. One final thing is use the safety deposit if possible because the quality of the security of the rooms is appalling, doors are very flimsy.

Room Tip: Most rooms face the pool and are a nightmare however they are safer with regards to being broken int...

Stayed in this hotel for a week with some friends and during the week, 3 of the "safe" deposit boxes where broken into, items stolen and then re-locked, ie must have been an inside job. Staff where totally unprofessional and basically just laughed at the fact that large amounts of money, cards and iphones were stolen. Rooms not much safer, bags clearly looked through on an almost daily basis by "cleaning" staff who were even seen going into the rooms without any cleaning equipment. Never felt that anything was safe with door that would have been better if they were made of cardboard and an almost non-existent balcony door lock.
Rooms were dirty, however they were a good size and did have a fridge which was temperamental at best and the air-con didn't work at all. Seemed to be no security at all at the hotel and all that was required to get a room key for any room was the say a number to the reception and give them 10euro and without any ID or checks they just handed out the key.
We were half board and food was edible but very random selection and no drinks included at dinner.
Would never recommend that anyone I know stay in this hotel, not even people I don't like. After the first robbery everyone was on edge and could never fully feel that their possessions were safe.
Best to pay more and stay in a safer hotel rather than staying here with the almost inevitable chance of being stolen from.

Room Tip: A room in a different hotel is your best option

Large group of friends on holiday together, at least 3 break ins (with keys, and locked again) to the 'secure' safety deposit boxes in the lobby which the staff just laughed at - large amounts of money and phones were taken. Rooms ok, good size, not very clean, cases very dusty when left on the floor. Towels and sheets stained. Air con very poor. One key per room. We stayed on half board, drinks were not included with dinner and we were not allowed to bring our own bottle of water in with us. Several people reported their belongings being looked through and I returned one day to find a hole ripped in the seam of my padlocked case. Food was ok, although very random selection. Would not recommend a stay in this hotel, after the first break in we were all anxious that something else would be taken. You would be safer sleeping on the beach!!!

Room Tip: Choose a room in a different hotel!!!!!

We stayed at this hotel as part of a large group, but for some reason we were scattered all over the hotel rather than put in rooms near each other.

The first night was a taste of things to come. After a day of travelling and then a night out, we returned to hotel at 2am, but didn't get to sleep until gone 6am. Sleeping in the bedroom it felt like people who were in the corridor talking were in the room with us, and every time the neighbours buzzer was pressed it was ridiculously loud in our room. For the rest of the stay we slept on the sofas in the lounge area, with cushions up against the front door to block out some noise and the power off so the buzzer couldn't be pressed. Every night it was the same thing, with people running around shouting/screaming/knocking/buzzing until gone 6am. The frustrating thing was that the hotel staff did nothing to stop this. We also had a barrage of reps knocking on our door every evening, with one even approaching via the roof next to our balcony (again none of the staff seemed bothered that guests and reps were constantly up on the roof and getting ever closer to the edge)!

The rooms were very tired, and we found blood splatters in various locations around our rooms that had clearly never been cleaned up (eg the curtains, walls, sofas). The cleaner only visited twice during our 7 night stay, and we only received "clean" (blood stained and dirty) towels twice during our stay.

The kitchen area in the room was very worn out. Cupboard doors were falling off and held on single hinges to rotting wood. Pots and pans were not clean on arrival and the microwave sparked and buzzed every time it was plugged in.

During our stay many people had things stolen from the "security" boxes at reception, and they were treated with the same disregard and given the same excuses as have been detailed in previous reviews. The rooms were no better, with people reporting that their stuff had been rifled through while they were out. We returned to our locked room several times to find that the room had been unlocked by someone and then left unlocked in our absence.

Another worrying security issue was general access to the hotel. We found that anyone would have been able to enter the hotel, and that anyone could ask for any room key at reception without needing any ID.

The food at breakfast and dinner was edible, but a bit of a random selection. And as detailed in other reviews, you could not have drinks at the evening meal unless you paid for them, and if you tried to take your own bottle of water in with you then they took it from you or refused to let you into dinner.

This hotel did spoil our holiday. A lack of sleep and a constant real fear of items being stolen, meant we were unable to totally relax. I would NOT recommend this corrupt hotel to anyone, especially if you value your sleep and possessions!

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the 5th floor (500's), don't get a room near reception, In fact, wou...

Came here with a large group of friends, arrived to find basically ok rooms, and ok facilities. Safes in the room do not work so you are forced to pay to hire a 'safe' on reception. As the reception area is manned 24/7 and they have visible security staff you'd think this would be fine. Unfortunately over the week 3 of the maybe 15 boxes we had hired through the group were opened - with a key - items removed, (E400, iphone, credit cards) and the box then locked once more. When reported to reception the staff members literally laughed in your face. Items in rooms were also riffled through, and a locked suitcase was damaged in an attempt to be opened. The fact that the security cameras also were not working just support the fact this was most likely an inside job. If we had not been in such a large group, and so been aware of how much it was happening we may have put it down to bad luck, but it would seem not.
Aside from this the pool was quite cramped, the aircon pretty much non functional- it only came on radnomly twice over the week regardless of what you did with the controls, and even then didn't seem to make any difference. And the food was... interesting, battered chicken balls turning out to be battered cauliflower. Bed sheets weren't changed, and one thin pillow only provided. On half board no drinks were provided at dinner, even water had to be paid for, and you were told off by staff members if you brought a bottle from your room. A room of four people was provided with only a single key, and you had to pay to hire a spare, which were not available for all rooms.
Also rooms located looking towards the strip were incredible noisy around the clock.
There were some good points, the rooms were spacious and had a fridge, towels were provided and changed mid week, location great for nights out, also really close to two nice beaches, and there was lots of lounger space at the pool.
This doesn't change the fact that things were blatantly stolen, and hotel did not care means I would definitely advise against staying here at all costs.

Room Tip: go somewhere else!

Food on the first night was much better than I was expecting, but as the week went on, dinner became part guessing game and part lucky dip. What I originally thought was scampi turned out to be battered cauliflower, a new Spanish delicacy maybe? The following day my eyes lit up at the sight of onion rings (a well know favourite of drunk men), which some how transformed in to battered squid once it touched my tongue. I mean seriously, how hard is it to label food?! I was also suspicious of re heated Brussel sprouts from the previous day as they were ridiculously soft, almost verging on mushy peas. And the desserts were so florescent in colour they could have been radioactive. Breakfast scrambled egg, I honestly don't know how they messed that up so bad, soggy and tasteless, the only thing I can think of was that it was make from powdered egg. Having said that there was enough selection I never went hungry, and the Squits held off till day 4 (however this maybe due to other things ingested).

The room :- despite a few ants dotted around the place, and there only being one key between 4, I didn't mind the room too badly. sleeping before 3am isn't really an option, if you are a family I seriously advise against this hotel, it is full of 250+ party animals banging on the wrong door trying to find a bed.

All in all if your going to party in magaluf and looking for a cheap deal, this hotel is great value in a great location (2min from beach and strip) but don't expect something as good as travel lodge. 2 stars
