“Not too bad...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

I went to the Don Bigote with my sister for five nights in July. Upon arrival check in was really fast- straight up to our rooms and then headed out for our first night in Magaluf. The rooms seemed quite clean- small and basic but all you need if your mainly going to use it as a base to party in Magaluf. This hotel is mainly for young people- so be aware that the noise can be quite loud come the early hours of the morning! We respected other guests whilst there by being quiet, but especially big groups of lads forget this! The half board we paid for was great value- breakfast was plentiful- everything you needed for an english fry up! And to add to this tea was great too! The cheifs were extremely polite! But be warned you have to pay for drinks for your evening meal from the hotel which are quite pricey-- a tip, just buy a bottle of water for 1 euro 60. As the holiday continued I did notice on the floor at the side of my bed there was a few ants and some nights they appeared on my bed which ended up in my trying to clean the room to a better standard than the cleaners! Overall, I probably wouldn't go back to this hotel.

first of all stayed 26th june to4th july after reading reports on trip advisor requested high floor pool veiw did not get either .but to be fair we were an end room .very small but clean lots of noise the first night our friends had to move rooms it was that bad. after that it calmed down alot and the majority of kids were well mannered best of all they dont get up till dinner time so no rush for sunbeds .but beware if you expect a quite holiday apart from 8 of us the rest of the hotel is full of 18yr olds groups of girls and lads .and they like loud music ect no pool attendent to keep them in order so quite a few run riot round pool area . .mainly the lads the girls were more respectful i agree with the last reveiw in that the hotel should make there minds up as to to what type of hotel it is .as i would not go back to this hotel as we like a more relaxed holiday which is a shame as distance to everything excellent .food excellent .cleaners excellent .price really excellent budget hotel .but more for the younger generation .having said that we had a great holiday in palma nova ...

Room Tip: dont really matter if ya young but if older ask for high floor pool veiw we did 2 emails for this b...

The Don Bigote is a wonderful hotel..
Staff are very polite , helpful and very very pleasant
.Food is wonderful with plenty to choose from.
The snack area where you can purchase fries etc have the most amazing burgers i have ever tasted, are very resonable, and the service is very fast...
There is only one fault with the hotel ... and that is they should either make it a hotel for the older generation 40s plus or for 18-30s The reason being is that the both do'nt mix...
My sister and i saved up all year to have a nice peaceful holiday away only to have 6 out of 7 sleepless nights as the youngsters are coming in all hours keeping you up with slaming doors, shouting, playing loud music and totally having no respect for othesr staying at the hotel.
I would love to go back to this hotel as everything is on the flat. Plus the beach and nearby resturants are close by..
Alas, until The Don Bigote make their minds up one way or another about the age generation we will unfortunatly not be visiting them again :-(
PS
Joseph serving in the bar is simply wonderful.
Always smiling curtious and pleasant.
And the cook is Brilliant with always a wonderful choice of food...

Room Tip: Choose the highest floor if your over 40. We found out that was the least noisy .. Unfortunatly we...

I stayed in this hotel at the end of June 2013 for a week with my sister (we're 19 and 27). The staff are all very friendly, especially the ones behind the bar. The cleaners do a very good job, but they are very loud in the mornings. That could be down to the fact our room was opposite the cleaning cupboard and although loud, the noise was bearable. There is someone on reception 24 hours a day so you can leave your key when you go out in the night if you're worried about losing it. There is a wide selection of food at the buffet every night and its all cooked to a high standard. My only complaint would be the holiday reps that try to sell you tickets to events. We had someone knocking on our door every day and they would also hassle people around the pool but this isn't really the hotels fault as its difficult to determine between guests and reps. The hotel has a wide range of ages staying and is suitable for everyone. It's literally a 2 minute walk to the beach which is beautiful and about 15 minutes into Magaluf depending on which way you go. Would definitely stay here again, it's in a great location and was clean and tidy. The rooms and decor was dated but that's not really worth complaining about.

I went to Palma Nova in 2012 during Summer. We asked for a room higher up in the hotel, as it looked like all the bottom rooms were full of loud teenagers. So the higher up you go, the quieter.
The room was basic but decent, nice and clean. It costs extra for a small fridge. Slept well, but would recommend ear plugs as the air con can be noisy.
The food was one of the best foods I have ever tasted, really nice, fresh and plenty to choose from in the buffet. Breakfast and dinner was lovely each night. You have to pay for drinks at dinner mind. The pool was nice and big, beds disappear quite quick. But if you put a towel on early you can get one.
The hotel is around 10 mins stroll to the beach. A nice walk. The beach is lovely, clean and lots of beds. The sand and sea are warm and clean. Spent most of the time at the beach.
Lots of shops in the location, so plenty to do.
The hotel is quite noisy during the day in particular by the pool and does cater for people on a budget. If you are young, you will love it, but if you are older and want something a bit posher, don't stay here. For me in my 20s it was great.
Overall I had a great holiday and the hotel was great. Amazing location, amazing food and amazing weather.

Room Tip: Get a room higher up, as they are quieter!

Good located hotel. Basic rooms, clean and good food with great staff. Have visited hotel a few times and only occasionally experienced noise from guests (hen & stag parties) but it hasn't put me off going again (earplugs). They are usually gone in a couple of days.

Room Tip: High floor overlooking pool
