“Brilliant hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

Stayed in this hotel for a week at the end of June - beginning of July with friends. The hotel is lovely, very clean and food is great. Everyone complains about food in all hotels but personally, I don't know what they're complaining about. Yes there are chips everyday but if you don't want them, don't eat them. There was plenty of choices which were different every day. If you didn't fancy anything, there were snacks served throughout the day which were just as good and a lot lighter if you were full!!

The location of the hotel was brilliant. Only 5 minutes from the beach, if that! Beaches are lovely round there and there are many shops around to have a wander round.

If like me and my friends, the main reason for visiting is because you want to go to magaluf, it is about 5-6 euros for a taxi or a 20 minutes walk along the beach (which we preferred to do as the walk is lovely!)

Hotel room was nice, was on 2nd floor with a nice sunny balcony. Maids came in to change towels if wanted everyday.

Didn't watch the entertainment, but from what we saw it was okay - though nothing amazing.
Some staff were lovely such as the bar staff. Others weren't so friendly - especially the rude security lady.

A lot to do around the area, a crazy golf course 2 mins from hotel, aquariums and waterparks. Western waterpark is definitely worth a visit!

Overall a really good hotel - especially for the value of money! Would recommend and visit again. :-)

May i start by saying this was the third time we had stayed at the Palmanova hotel and this is why we came again, we normally stay for a week because we were celebrating a milestone in our lives we decided to stay for two weeks as a way of celebrating. How after one night we wished we hadn't.
As usual the staff were A.1, and couldn't do enough for you, the food was good and always plenty of choices this review is not about the hotel and staff it is about the tour operator Thomas Cook.
We arrived at the hotel and were given a room on the third floor because we had an early flight we decided to have an early night and were woken at midnight by yobs running up and down the corridors swearing and shouting and this went on for at least 30 minutes, i eventually went out to tell them to stop and they then disappeared only to return at 4-30am shouting and figh ting. we were sat on the balcony at 4-45am watching the drunken yobs returning to our hotel thinking whats happening here? The next morning we went to reception to complain and were given a different room on the second floor after asking for a quiet part of the hotel, we were fine for two nights as there was mature people either side of us. after the second night one of the couples went home and they moved some younger people in and we were woken in the early hours yet again with shouting and drunken brawls. I went to speak to the Thomas Cook rep and explained that we had booked this hotel because it states in their brochure that it was a "Family Hotel" and we had stayed twice before and never had these problems, i asked him why was there at least 100 young people h ere, and was it now designated as "18 to 30" he replied no it wasn't and just as he said this at least another 40 young walked thro' to reception. The rep stated he didn't know what was happening but offered to change rooms again but when he came back he said the hotel was fully booked.
From the bar opening at 10am until it closed at midnight these young people did nothing but drink until they were paralytic and being sick everywhere, the girls were just as bad. The more they drank the louder they got and then they would start horseplaying around the pool and the children were too scared to go in the pool, they caught people having sex in the pool toilets,
I asked the receptionist why they couldn't put these drunken feral yobs away from the families and mature couples instead of mixing them with us, she stated they did not know what age group were coming in so they just allocated rooms ad hoc,
There is lots more to say about the behaviour of these feral yobs i could tell you about but i would need about three more pages, but to say the least it spoilt our holiday tremendously and turned what was supposed to be a celebration into a nightmare and at least 20 other guests put in official complaint forms to the Thomas Cook rep. I will be taking this up with Thomas Cook and taking it to the media if i do not get a satisfactory reply from them. Needless to say i will not be returning to the Palmanova hotel again.

We were sorry to hear that your special celebration holiday was ruined by ather guests foul behaviour, but thank you for clarifying that the comments were for Thomas Cook and not the hotel itself.

I stayed here 29th june to 6th july 2013 with my sister. When we arrived we got a warm welcome from reception, check in was quick. Our room was on the 6th floor, very clean and spacious, lots of hangers in wardrobe. Air con included which is a big plus! We stayed all inclusive, food basic but still good for a 3 star hotel, not much choice for breakfast though. Good choice of drinks from bar includes 4 cocktails! Pool area very nice, plenty sunbeds. A few other reviews say you have to put your towel down 6.30am,rubbish as we got sunbeds most mornings between 9 and 10. One day we didnt go down until 1pm and stil got! Beach is only 5 minutes away,Palma Nova is a lovely resort, gorgeous beach, nice restaurants and a few bars. Banana Joes is a lively bar open until 4am. We went into Magaluf 2 nights, only 10 minutes in a taxi and only 5 or 6 euro. We really enjoyed our holiday here and would return to this hotel

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week...Before going i was beginning to dread going after reading the reviews. When we got there the hotel looked clean, check in was quick and staff seemed friendly.

You can buy trips & tickets from reception in the hotel but reps are always around for advice and tell you the best ones to go to, our favourite was the water park.

The room was great, clean, spacious, air con, safe TV, Balcony area, clean towels everyday, plenty of toilet roll what more do u want for a cheap 3* Hotel?? The beds were really comfy too we didnt struggle to get a good nights sleep all week regardless of the times we rolled in!! We were on the 4th floor and didnt hear a thing all week not our neighbours nothing unless they were just really quiet??

The food was brilliant god knows what people eat who were complaining but me & my fella put nearly a stone on from eating so much as the food was that good. Breakfast was brill always pastries, cereal and hot brekkis mmm. Lunch & Dinner were good too always the same things like pasta & rice & meat but different flavours each night. Desserts wernt brilliant but was always fruit & ice-cream available.

Pool was always clean & plenty of beds however some of the old ones were very uncomfortable as had sank which left u laying on the plastic bars but if you got up early u could get a new sunbed & there was plenty to choose from. Later in the day they all got taken as you would expect but if your going on holiday & not bothering to get up til mid afternoon u don't really need a sunbed do you??

Location was fantastic 5 min walk down to palma nova & the beach & about 15min walk into magaluf. There is a gate at the back of the pool as a short cut but doesnt open til 9am. Palma is good lots of bars & shops & restaurants. The beach is lovely...5euro a sunbed & 5euro a parosole & pedalos available on the beach 15euro/hour.

I have seen a review o here regarding the entertainments team and can I say one comments are crap!! The most miserable entertainer I have ever ever experienced since travelling abroad was a girl called Demi she sat with the same guests day in day out and just had a face that looked like she had sucked on a sour sweet what a horrible miserable unapproachable thing she was!! With regards to Jazzy and Rob only interested in the young woman and getting them to join in this is crap as well those two walked around every single day asking EVERYONE TO JOIN IN bit they found it hard getting people (I can tell you that Rob clearly was not interested in the girls he was openly gay love so your comment is a load of rubbish).

But all in all there was no need to worry, truthfully I struggled to understand how people found reasons to complain?? This hotel is Brill, cheap, clean, good food & close by to everything...what more do you want for the prices you pay??

Stayed for a week at the end of June. Fab selection of food and catered to my restricted diet very well. Didn't ever feel i was eating the same meals twice. Too many children for us oldies and sunbeds were all booked with towels by 8am. Need to be fast. Pool area sometimes looked dirty and there was limited space so beds were almost on top of one another. Room was adequate. Won't go back but would suit some. Entertainment dire ! Unfortunately can't remember the name of the Somalian waiter we got to know. Really friendly guy and always served with a smile.

This hotel is lovely for all ages. We have just returned accommodation is spotless and the food overall is good. The only complaint we would have is the fact that large groups of youngsters with all inclusive tariff spoilt what is a very nice hotel. We were disturbed during the night by banging doors, shouting and screaming from youngsters coming back from night clubs.
We felt particularly for young families and older couples who had come to enjoy a family hotel.
Perhaps Hotel Palmanova should look carefully at who they are targetting because I would say in the light of comments made by guests who have stayed there before, that the reputation and overall reputation of the hotel has deteriorated. This is a pity because the hotel is in an excellent
location and has much to offer. The entertainment could also be greatly improved.

Room Tip: You can get fantastic rooms for four/families.

Thank you for your very realistic comments about the hotel. We feel it is a shame that some of the younger clients are unable to enjoy themselves without becomming drunk and rowdy and bothering other guests.
It is basic education to respect each other wherever we may be ,at home or on holiday.

We have just come back from a ten days stay at the Hotel Palma Nova, the hotel was a nice hotel overall however we encountered a few problems with it. We have a little four year old son and so we chose this hotel as we had stayed next to it before and liked the area.Palma is a lovely clean place for kids with a nice clean sandy beach. The hotel was lovely and clean and our room was cleaned everyday which I was more than pleased with, cleaners were pleasant and always made a fuss of our little one.We found the food fine too,a few reviews complained about this but I always found something nice to fill my plate with and my son ate well throughout. We did notice that the majority of the guests were groups of young (18-21) adults and this was no problem during the day, however it was a real joke when they were running up and down the corridors, singing and banging on one anothers doors between 4 and 6am!This wasn't just a one night occurance either we had disturbances every night of one sort or another. The entertainment we found was ok and if you didn't want to be included in the games the entertainers didn't pester you.I would recommend this hotel to young groups and couples as its everything they would need, clean, reasonable and 5 mins in a taxi from Magaluf, not for families with young children, simply due to the nocturnal activities that go on there.
