“hotel palma nova (first time abroad) 22-29 september”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

This was my first time abroad. And i did read previous reviews and was worried as this was a family hoilday .And was a lot about stags groups ect.
This wasnt really a problem for us on te last day there was a few groups show up but they didnt bother us.
was me my partner our 9 year old daughter and 4 year old son . my partners mum dad and grandad
when we got to the hotel .we were greated freindly .give our wrist bands and room key cards.
the key cards were a pain.
I had just got my food from the dinner hall sat down.then got told i would need to go up and get a top.so went up to the room and the card wouldnt work.went to reception where they scanned the card and said it would work went back up stairs .still didnt work back down.and got told to go back up and wait outside my door for the maintance man.he got there 5-10 mins later was in the room.also be warned you have to put your key card in the wall for electric to go on.so you cant leave anything on charge when your out ect.
there is a safe but its a extra 25 euros a week.which we did not have.and none of our items were touched.and cleaners where in every day.
i did get sunstroke so was in my room for one full day which wasnt a lot of fun.but put the sign on the door and wasnt disturbed
As i said this was my first time abroad and even though there was a good selection of food.but after the 3-4 day it wasnt for me so i eat out at least one meal at day .few places that service english food.not that the foods overly bad .but im sure its just as i wasnt used to it .deserts and ice creams snacks through the day

The drinks were the same for me after the 3-4 day san miguel cheapest vodka.and few other drinks.started geting a bit to much.not that i drunk that much.so went to the shop (spar) dont go to the first spar you see as theres one a bit more down the road and its cheaper and got a few drinks there to take back .you can buy smir off baileys ect but think its 1.50-2 a shot.no discount for being all inclusive.crisp are about a euro .internet is 1 euros for 12min

you can pay to have one device connected to wireless but its not cheap.

beach is 5 mins walk

bar staff and entertainment very freindly and helpfull pools nice.

they did have pistol shooting and crazy golf.i did ask about this but could find the right person so didnt get to do any of this unfortuantly

overal a nice hoilday .watch out for the taxis if they ring them at the desk you get charged extra.best walking down the front and finding one.

I will go back to this hotel.but would rather go half board but there isnt this option that i can see

also mother in law paid 80 euros for a fridge .which was handy

i would say its more for familys and older people.which was good for me

just returned from the hi palmanova hotel in palma nova on the 8 th oct 2012 which was for our wedding anniversary. we were there for 4 days and spent 2 of them in bed ill with a so called virus or thats what we were told by the hotel. .i became ill on the saturday and my husband on the monday .The food was cold at every sitting . on return to the uk we are still poorly and now having tests from our doctor to determine what we have . we were not the only ones poorly there were about 20 guests with the same symptoms sickness and diahorea . .On the food quality side very poor although the hotel nice for a 3 star

Room Tip: rooms at the back of hotel nice and quiet the ones with pool view noisy with the entertainment

I was really suprised by the quality of this hotel! It's at the top of a hill, about a 5 minute walk down into Magaluf if you want to go and enjoy the nightlife, but quiet enough that you can get a good night's sleep as well! Little karaoke bar with pool tables over the road is worth a visit if you're bored of Magaluf craziness- cheap cocktails and friendly people! The pool is lovely, pool bar does the usual ('everything with chips') and it's a decent price. The rooms are clean, the only thing is that if there are 3 of you, one has to sleep on the sofa bed in the kitchen/living room - so if someone else gets a drink in the night it wakes you up, which is kind of a pain but not unbearable. We had a really nice view over the pool. Stayed in a mixed group of 6 and we all had a good time!

We stayed in this hotel in June 2012. There were 6 of us, ages 22 - 30.

Location:
Excellent! Walk out the hotel, turn the corner and you are on the beach. Loads of shops, bars and restaurants and only a 7 minutes walk to Magaluf if you fancy going out.

Food:
The food, for this type of hotel, was actually pretty good. Plenty of variety along with quite a few surprises, Ie salmon and some delicious Paella. We were all inclusive so this meant not only did we have breakfast, lunch and dinner but also snack mid morning and mid afternoon. This was brilliant as if you missed breakfast you could still pop down to have something to eat, and if you went on a day trip and didn't want to spend out on lunch you could come back mid afternoon and have something. The snacks included hot dogs, toasties, crisps, other little bits and bobs and ice cream. Drinks were of a good variety, along with a couple of tasty little cocktails.

Entertainment:
Evening entertainment was enjoyable, the reps were nice and most people got involved in the evening entertainment. The evening entertainment finished at 930 and then there was a disco till 11. We would have REALLY liked it if they just played some modern songs that we could have a little dance to before going out, but the music for the disco was pretty awful and repetitive night after night.

Rooms:
The rooms were very nice, we had 3 twin rooms, of a a similar standard. The bathrooms were big enough and very clean. It was lovely being able to sit out on the balcony whilst waiting for everyone else to finish getting ready. We could see the sea from out balcony even though we weren't facing it.
The Hotel:
The hotel is a 30 minutes bus ride from the main Palma Nova airport. There is usually a courtesy room for guests wishing to shower on the day they leave once they have checked out, but if you wish to use this then let the hotel staff know exactly what time as there was a queue and a time limit as the room had people checking into it even though we had been told earlier it was okay to use. Having said that the girls on reception were very very nice. There is the usual sunbed problem, which got worse as the week went on, but at first we only needed to come down around 9 to get sunbeds which was nice.

Overall, it was everything we wanted and we had a lovely week in the sun.

Stayed at the Hotel Palma Nova with a friend (aged 20 and 22) for 1 week. Location of this hotel is really good, only 2 min walk to the beach and surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. We went to Magaluf for the first 3 nights of our holiday which will only take you 30 mins to walk or a 5 mins taxi ride (5 euros) i would definitely recommend BCM and going on a bar crawl.

Some staff at this hotel were very friendly however the rest looked miserable. They did a good job of keeping the bar and restaurant areas clean and serving drinks to a quick service. The food was excellent, something for everyone so you will not starve. Had a great varieties of drink (very strong)

The rooms were of a good size and had an excellent view of the sea and pool. The walls are paper thin, were woken up by inconsiderate neighbors turning T,V up very loud at 4.00am every morning. Overall the rooms were very nice and comfy.

The hotel itself is lovely, very well maintained!! Before i arrived at the hotel i read reviews saying there was a limit to sun beds. We managed to find a sunbed at 10.00am however the best / comfy ones were gone at 6.00am.

The only downside i have to say is that when we arrived at 9.45am our rooms were not ready until 12.30pm. After waking up at 1.00am and travelling we were tired and wanted to go to our rooms straight away. we spoke to a few people and it happened to them too. Once we got to our room all was great :)

i though the hotel was great however would not return as i felt this hotel was more for the older generation. It would be suitable for anyone over the age of 40.

Do not be put off by negative reviews.

This hotel is terrible. The food was disgusting and cold. Very poor quality.I was ill all week and they didnt cater for special diets.Being a sufferer of ceoliac disease was a nightmare as there was nothing suitable for me to eat. Had a terrible tummy after our first meal and both my husband and I are still ill after returning home 3 days ago. I have had to take time off work as I am so ill. Staff not very freindly at all and the entertainment well what can I say rubbish. However the hotel was clean and in a good location close to the beach and bars/shops.

Just got back fr a week at hotel palmanova, great hotel, clean, food brill, plenty of choice, staff nice, good position, 5 mins from the beach, shops, bars etc..... Beds could do with up grading and walls are a bit thin but that can't really do anything about that. Entertainment day and night really good. In a quite part of resort but 5min walk takes you to lively bars and shops. Would deff go again!

Room Tip: We didn't have pool view, overlooked road, was a bit noises when dray man came early morning and...
