“Nice Hotel shame about the clientele”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Holiday was good valve for money as we booked three months prior to our stay. The hotel ticked all the boxes for our group of 10. Clean rooms & good food. The reception staff seemed pretty unorganised and became ruder throughout our stay. The pool was small and sunbathing was limited. We were next to three rooms full of lads, they checked in two days after us and did not shut up! We were kept awake until 12am and woken back up at 4-6pm. The walls were paper thin, even the room next to ours couldn't sleep! We made several complaints and they were dealt with, unfortunately this is the reason we will not be returning to Palmanova Palace. We choose PP as it was advertised as an adults only hotel. We thought we were going to have a relaxing holiday but came back more tired than we went!

Room Tip: Im sure we would have more positive comments if we were staying in another part of the hotel!

This hotel is definitely not a 4 star, prob not even a 3 star. The public areas are quite nice but the rooms are the smallest I have ever stayed in with very little storage space and only 2 plug sockets. The walls are paper thin and you can hear literally everything, there is no privacy at all. However, the food in the restaurant is absolutely lovely, champagne and smoked salmon served for breakfast every day, I can honestly say that this hotel serves the best food of any I have stayed in. The staff are all lovely, particularly Victor and Isabel. Evening entertainment is very cheesy, basically a couple of karaoke singers on rotation.
The pool area is rubbish, It's tiny, you can't take a lilo in, the shallow area is miniscule so you can't fit many people in the shallow end for a paddle and you can only fit sunbeds at the top and bottom.
Given all of this, we would have had a great holiday were it not for the abundance of chavs that arrived halfway through our stay. Unfortunately Palmanova suffers from an overspill from Magaluf and Thomas Cook are selling this as a 'young' holiday so if you want a good night's sleep don't bother coming here...shouting, disgusting language in abundance, running up and down corridors and the way some of them spoke to the staff was disgusting. I heard many people complaining to the management who weren't really bothered and referred it to the Thomas Cook rep, who did nothing. there were a whole lot of grumpy, sleep deprived people around!
palmanova itself is lovely and some great restaurants if you can find a hotel that's not full of chavs.
If you want a nice, relaxing and sedate holiday I would recommend the Levante in Cala Bona instead!

We booked this Hotel for 2 weeks from 21st June to 5th July all inclusive.
When we arrived after travelling through the night we was told our room wasn't ready for another 2 hours if the hotel knows roughly what time you are due to arrive they should make sure the room is ready. Ive never been to all inclusive hotels before where you have to hire everything including remote controls, kettles etc etc.
The room was very basic with only ONE plug socket so had to keep swapping things over every time you wanted to use something.
The pool was very small and was no where big enough to accommodate the size of the hotel and was in the shade all day so was very cold, We spent our 2 weeks on the beach because of this.
At first on arrival the hotel was more for gerriactrics and there was more life in a Morgue but it did get better.
The food wasn't brilliant and Pedro the suppose head waiter didn't have a smile for the cat. Due to this we skipped lunch everyday and the 2nd week we ate out every night so so much for going all inclusive.
The entertainment was rubbish the best bit was when some lads turned up and ended scrapping with each other but thankfully they got kicked out of the Hotel straight away that was the good point from the Hotel as they didn't put up with the trouble they got sent to Magaluf.
The Hotel states its a 4STAR this is defo not true I would only rate it as a 2.5. looks like someone rated it a 3 as tthere was a star missing.
I would defo not go back to this hotel and I certainly wont recommend it either should have gone to Santa Lucia Hotel for 10 days instead. On the good side we had a well earned rest!!!!!!

Room Tip: Don't book this Hotel there are plenty of others very near by and are a lot nicer

Thank you for your feedback about your stay in the hotel it was unfortunate that a room was not available on your arrival but clients do not have to vacate their rooms until 12:00 on departure day.. As international law states hotels are not obliged to provide a room until 14:00 theretone depending on the amount of arriwals and depatures on any day sometimes availability is limited at ertain times.
We were happy to hear that you had a good rest ant hope that your next

When I and 3 of my friends read the reviews for this hotel after booking a holiday, we turned up pretty apprehensively. We walked in the door and there was a mobility scooter on charge in the foyer and there were no young people in sight. Once checked in, we walked to our room which was on the ground floor outside the pool and a couple shouted to us that we were in the wrong hotel and they don't want to hear a peep out of us which we found pretty offensive. As we walked into our rooms, they seemed pretty neat. They were very clean, bathroom was spotless and a hair dryer, fridge and TV etc. For the TV to work, we were told we needed to pay a deposit for the remote but you can do it manually on the side. The safety boxes were like €30 or something however we came prepared with a padlock that we locked our suitcases up with and kept anything valuable in there. There was a security guard roaming the halls between a certain time at night so I would say that anything safe asking as its hidden away or you lock it away adequately. The walls were paper thin, anything said in the other room could be heard word for word but I suppose with the price we were paying we didn't expect anything less. As the week progressed, more and more young groups came, some being a lot more louder than others. One group got kicked out for taking advantage of the free bar and getting in a rowdy fight. Despite this, all the adults in the hotel were really no older than 60 I would say, so definitely not a pensioners hotel. All the adults we came across though we're really lovely and always asking us about how our day was going and what we'd been up to. The food was alright, it was far from unedable like a lot of the reviews were saying but was pretty bog standard. They had a large variety of mallorcan dishes, yet also had pizza and chips for more fussy eaters. Unless you're a food snob I would say the food is more than adequate but perhaps something you would eat at a 3* rather than a 4* hotel. The staff were always helpful and the entertainment definitely got everyone up and joining in which made it a great atmosphere! The bar staff were great, especially Berni who always cracked jokes with you. All in all, I would definitely go back to this hotel, unless you're planning to stay at the hotel in the rooms for the majority of the holiday I would say it was pretty basic but my friends and I would without a doubt stay here again!

Room Tip: Our room was on the poolside on the ground floor which didn't bother us, however I expect older...

Thank you very much for such positive feedback about the hotel The reason the hotel asks for a deposit for the TV remote control is sometinies people lose then and not everyone want to get up and donon to change channels manually

We were lucky our room was ready on arrival but many who arrived at the same time had to wait several hours. Our room was big enough but a bit tired looking and bathroom was small.Pool area was small and you had to keep moving to chase the sun which was a bit of a pain! We found the food very good always plenty of choice and very clean. The larger was great but the rest of the drinks were very week. There was trouble with a group of young men who seemed to arrive at the hotel drunk and ended up fighting between themselves I do think that they might have been slightly more aware in the hotel and perhaps stopped serving them earlier.they were swiftly dealt with and not seen again!!!! I enjoyed my week and would return to the resort but probably not this hotel!

We arrived at the hotel on 27th June '13, at 11.30, but had to wait until 14.00 as our room was not ready. We had read from reviews that there was a security issue, money being taken from rooms, and this was a worry, we did pay for a security box. I did point out to reception that what was the point of stating in the leaflet given to us that the hotel advice to lock the balcony door, when you follow advice and the cleaner leaves it open! The entertainment was quite poor, Kay and Gaz tried their best, but it was embarrassing to see Gaz dressed up in drag as Gloria. The food was not great either, and there was no early breakfast for anyone leaving before 8am. There were more young people at the hotel and there was a fight between some young men who were worst the wear for drink, and some were told to leave the hotel. The pool and pool area are small, not as big as the video shows. On the plus side, the hotel room was basic but clean, the bar staff were pleasant and worked very hard. The hotel was very close to the beach. It was not a 4star hotel, and we wouldn't go again.

After reading some reviews on here I was really concerned about going here as we travel to Magalluf every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary but decided to stay in PalmaNova this year....
Was pleased on arrival as were told to put our luggage in a room and pop into dining hall as lunch was still on and they would sort our keys out after we had eaten.

FOOD...
So one of the first experiences of the hotel was the food-and I have to say this was the major part that let the whole hotel down for us-it just was so far from 4# quality-and we have been to several 3# hotels with far better food than what was offered here. There was little choice at each sitting, food was often luke warm and they took ages to re fill anything-one night my Husband waited about 10 minutes for them to fill the shephards pie up so the rest of his food on hos plate got cold-and when the shephards pie was finally refilled it honestly resembled a tin of dog meat as opposed to mince! and when he tasted it it was almost cold-not even luke warm! and this was a batch fresh from the kitchen! One noght I waited for the pizza to replaced as all that was left was the end bits and a few bits that had been chopped about-but because there was still bits left it never got refilled! Same for the cakes-if there was a few battered bits left then they wasn't replaced. On a few occasions there were several nice bits but on a whole the food could have been so much better, in fact we were there 5 night all inclusive but ended up eating out 3 lunch times and 2 evening meals (which was no way expected or budgeted for so we felt we were left out of pocket because of the poor quality of food). You couldn't get beer in the restaurant-yes you could get it from the bar before hand and take it into the restaurant which is what my Husband done but we felt being a 4# there should have either been the chance to get it on tap in the restaurant or have waiter service....

ROOMS...
Basic but fine, really cleaned to a high quality, beds (tho they were 2 single but often is the case in spain) were lovely and comfy and the blankets were the softest i'd ever had abroad, as were the towels) We were on floor 8 and had quite a nice view but some of the rooms would have had not such a view-overlooking the road etc! Bathroom was quite small and air con was very noisy so wasn't able to sleep with it on-fridge worked well. Lack of sockets-only had 2 in whole room and that meant unplugging the tv or fridge!!

POOL AREA...
So small and crammed in and lack of sun-really not ideal so spent most of the time down the beach but ended up costing us 13 euro a day for sunbeds so again was left feeling out of pocket! Pool was ok-pretty small and a bit on the cold side but was the space that let it down-sun beds were lovely but had to move every couple of hours as so much of the space was shaded as the sun moved.

ENTERTAINMENT....
although we never got involved they seemed really lovely people who worked really hard and were great at their job-always had a smile and said hello when they saw you.

CLEANING...
Great-whole hotel was spotless all the time-can't fault atall

STAFF...
All staff were friendly, helpful and polite. when we queried the thefts from safes to the man on reception when checking in he reassured us that this hadn't happened and it was lie's on reviews! we'll never know the truth but we had all our valuables in our safe and all was fine the whole stay.

LOCATION...
Great-5 min walk from the beautiful beach and shops/bars/restaurants and about a 20 min walk into Magaluf-we done this there and back every day and then every night-and when we were walking back at night time (well 5am ish) we felt perfectly safe and never was worried which was nice as I expected us to be feeling we needed taxi's tht time of night but wasn't the case-infact it was such a lovely walk I wouldn't have wanted a taxi.

So all In all a mixed review really-some really good points but some (mainly the food) really bad points-in my opinion this hotel should be a 3# and then I think less people would be disappointed with what they are getting....oh and one more thing-I went witht he thinking we were going to be the youngest there and stick out like sore thumbs (me and hubby are both in our 30's)...this was so not the case-I would say 70% of the guests are aged 50-60 ish but the rest range from 18-late 40's-so a real mixture of ages-most certainly not 'gods waiting room' as some on here have stated-well not last week anyway!!
Would we stay again? Plamanova - 100% yes but Palmanova palace? 100% no as there were so many hotels we saw whilst there that looked so much better.
