“Overall we had a great stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

We stayed at the Mimosa Park Hotel for 10 nights...

The hotel was in a good location, only a 5 minute walk to the beach and the Palma Nova night life. We walked to Magaluf from the hotel in around 10 - 15 minutes. The hotel is in a quiet spot and at night is far enough away from any noisy bars, clubs and any groups passing by on a night out to keep you awake.

The hotel rooms and general interior could do with updating but most importantly were clean and the room cleaning service was excellent (with clean linen and towels every day). The walls are pretty thin so considerate neighbours are a bonus! The shower was great and nice and powerful. All rooms came with a balcony which either got the morning or evening sun so it may be worth expressing your preference on check in.

The lifts were quite slow as mentioned in previous reviews didn't break down whilst we were there. They must also read the reviews as maintenance work was being done which didn't cause us any inconvenience.

The hotel charges to use Wifi and we payed €18 for 7 days which we thought was over priced (This was only for one device). However the signal strength was reasonable and could be received all over the hotel and by the poolside. A one off cost at a lower rate depending on the duration of your stay would be much more preferable and probably make the hotel more money.

The pool area was nice with plenty of room. To get the better loungers with adjustable backs required an early start (between 7:30 - 8) but there were always plenty of none adjustable flat beds later on. The pool itself and pool area were generally clean but suffered a bit from the inconsiderate all inclusive guests who left cups lying around (but usually happens at any all inclusive hotel). It would be worth the hotel putting a sign up asking guests to clear up after themselves as there are plenty of bins provided. There was also a separate kids pool with a little waterfall.

There was an arcade room next to reception and 4 pool tables around the hotel (which have seen better days). There was also a table tennis table outside on the terrace (which should be inside as it was quite windy).

The restaurant area was big with plenty of seats and the staff worked hard to provide fresh food and clean the plates away for new diners. We found the food to be of a good standard with plenty of variety throughout the week to suit our taste.

The drinks at the bar were good. Although the spirits weren't the branded names, they tasted close and better than some other all inclusive hotels we've been to. San Miguel was also the all inclusive beer choice which suited us. The bar queue at times was long but soon went down with more staff being called to help out.

The entertainment staff, Rusty, Alan, Justine and Michelle were very friendly, great fun and worked hard to entertain guests throughout the day and night and made our stay much more enjoyable. There were plenty of activities throughout the day to take part in and some funny poolside entertainment to watch. There was no kids club provided throughout the day but the entertainment staff were great with the kids and had games and party dances every night for them to join in with which finished around 8:45. There was also a park just outside the hotel for kids to play in.

The adult evening entertainment started around 9pm with audience participation games which varied every night. They were always entertaining and very funny to watch. The entertainment staff were very funny and quick witted and looked liked they were enjoying themselves as much as the audience. The main shows were provided by the entertainment staff which started around 10pm and had a different theme every night. The shows involved singing and dancing and although the dancing was very good, the staff would be the first to admit they aren't professional singers and do their very best with the set shows they have been provided with which are the same in other Hi hotels (at least the ones we've stayed at). Having no on stage monitors to hear themselves sing certainly didn't help! Despite this, they all worked very hard to make it entertaining. Throughout our 10 day stay, only one visiting outside act performed. We thought one or two per week would have brought more variety in the overall entertainments programme. We also thought it would be a good idea for the entertainment staff to promote and organise a pub crawl for those guests who wanted to go out after the bar in the hotel has closed and get to know other guests. We would recommend Banana Joes and Reflex which are only a short walk from the hotel and are very lively.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mimosa Park Hotel and would go back again.

Ps) On arrival at the Mimosa, we were transferred to the sister hotel Hotel Palma Nova (which was a tour operator error) for one night. The hotel was only 2 minutes away in a cab payed for by the hotel. We preferred the Mimosa Park Hotel and thought it was better in all of the above areas, although our room in the Hotel Palma Nova was bigger.

Room Tip: - Rooms on the reception side get the sun in the evening - Reserve the better loungers before 8am

Just back from mimosa park it was our 4th time still good and central for magaluf 2minutes from lush palma nova beach, shops and bars if you want to eat or drink out but if you are all inclusive there is no need as food and drink in the hotel is good, will be going back.

On arrival at the hotel at 2.30pm we first noticed the reception area was very dull and dark, we checked in as a party of 5 (2 plus 3) we were shocked at the accomodation offered to the party of 3... on arriving at room 107 we noticed the bottom half of the front door was broken and warped (by what we could not understand) until we showered later on that day, the water from the shower was running down the wall and coming out into the small corridor outside the bathroom then into the corridor outside. The room was less than basic, the bathroom was disappointing, we had to get the house keeper up to check the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. As 3 adults were to sleep in room 107 we saw 2 beds on entering the room (expecting a single and a double or 3 single) however we went back to reception and was advised the 3rd bed was a pull down bed behing a cupboard, your having a laugh Mimosa Park !!. we asked for another room and were given keys to 527, OMG.. no thank you.. we stayed in 107 for the week of our stay.. Room 111 for our other party was presentable, clean, nice bathroom with bidet and shower curtain. The food could also have been better, plenty of it but not enough choice, one night only one main course to choose from (not good enough Mimosa Park) dinning room staff were hard working constantly replenishing food. Entertainment ? call that entertainment (not good enough Mimosa Park).. very dissapointed and we wont be back.

Room Tip: stay away from floors 8 and 9... apparently given to singles parties as they are very noisy so they...

Just returned from a week's stay 'All Inclusive' at the Mimosa Park and all in all we had a pretty good time. Our first impressions echo the same as that of other people in that the hotel was generally looking a bit tired. Our bathroom had clearly been well used but was still OK ( the chrome on the taps for instance, had long since worn away in places, but it still functioned as a tap.Tiling had also been patched up). Our room generally was good with decent curtains and decor, but tired bedspreads and furniture. Walls are paper thin. Listening to next door using the loo (and of course them probably hearing you too, isn't the best). Maid service excellent. We moved rooms to the 'Sun in the Morning' side of the hotel (our first room was too noisy) and the reception staff were very happy to oblige in this.Public areas have something of a 'used' feel about them but overall they were still OK . Corridors were carpeted to keep the clattering of shoes to a minimum. Lifts were a bit unnerving (and oversubscribed at times) until you got used to them - very jerky indeed.
The outside pool and table areas were fine.
The Mimosa Park serves very good food - a real plus point when staying away. The dining room can get busy at times but this never presented a problem.
Bar service was also very good. Queues did form at busy times but staff numbers doubled (and sometimes trebled) at these times to cope. And cope very well they did. At least the hotel guests did queue - unlike the selfish free for all you see in some busy pubs back home. All staff, wherever in the hotel, we found to be pleasant and polite.
We thought the 'in house' evening entertainment was dreadful (sorry guys, I 'm sure sure you are trying your best best with minimal resources) but escape was our best option. The problem here was escape where to? - Seating in other areas of the hotel (reception for instance) was minimal and so sometimes it was back to our rooms with drinks - or go out to town (something we would have done on some nights anyway).
Although this review may sound a bit scathing, you have to remember everything is by degree. Overall we had a very good time here and we would, with clarification, recommend it to others. Remembering what you paid for your 'All Inclusive' package here, we think the Mimosa Park represented good value for money.

My hubby and I enjoyed our holiday, the entertainment team were lovely. Got fed up with them doing the entertainment every nite, although we made the most of it and joined in. But they did there best, but we are used to professional acts providing eve entertainment. Great location near lovely beach, near Magaluf, bus near straight into Palma. Lovely pool. Food was such a let down. We have a wide palet n enjoy most foods but this was poor, often had to wait while trays were refilled. Never had a dessert at all. Rooms v basic. Could hear everything in other rooms, not good re the obvious. Lift broke twice, we were on 8th floor. Rip of paying for wi fi. Pool tables always breaking. But staff lovely. We had good time cus of the great people we met and the crazy fun we had together.

Hotel rooms in need of refurnishing, bathrooms are well past their best, showers and taps are not very healthy looking and toilet pan wobbled when sat on.Plenty hot water though was a bonus.
Our room was cleaned everyday and clean towels when requested. The maid was very pleasant.Walls are paper thn and we could hear every noise from either side of us, especially when the youngsters next door were banging and kicking on the door to get in at 2am. Food was excellent and plenty of it and all the staff were pleasant and freindly. Public areas were always clean and tidy. The entertainment was noisy so we were out every evening at local bars.
