“you get what you pay for!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2011

Stayed here with hubby,our 17 yr old son, my mum and step-dad who r 70. The hotel is spotless,big bathroom gr8 shower with hairdryer and toiletries, rooms are big plenty of storage with a spectacular view from our room 512 we were originally in 101 but it was too noisy so they moved us to the other end,much better view. The food lets the hotel down not much choice but always had something. The staff are lovely especially Nelson who was only too happy to help us.\there was entertainment each night which was good,the price of the drinks in the hotel were cheaper than outside and the measures of vodka and bacardi were massive.The hotel had a few stag parties while we were there so it got a bit noisy round the pool from Friday-Monday so we went to the beach.I dont think I would stay here again as its right beside a few bars etc which can be really noisy and the food as I said let the place down but we got the holiday for a good price so it was a nice spring break with my family hope this helps.

We stayed at the comodoro hotel with an other couple the location is out of this world right on the beach the view from our rooms were fab the bedroom was cleaned every day the towels were the softest and whitest towels we have ever had when been abroad the only let down and this is petty there was no kettle in rooms to make a drink in the mornings we were room only and the kettel would off been a nice touch but did not really bother us the staff are all helpfull and friendly can not fault it at all the pool if any thing is a bit small and in high season it will be a bit busy
The dukes bar just on the beach wae great for food and the Florida was brill for breakfast
all in all we would all recommend this hotel to any one

We arrived late Sunday night and was given a room on the 8th floor, the minute we got in the room we could clearly see it was old dated and NOT 4* standard! The bathroom stank awful of sewage so we asked to be moved straight away. Next room was same lay out but way better smell. We stayed half board and found breakfast awful nothing was nice apart from the bread rolls! Tea on 2nd night was horrid again, but I must say tea on 3rd night was actually palatable!!! Pool looked dirty.
Moving onto the positive the shower was bloody good and the bed was comfy and clean bedding and towels done every day! This hotel is literally in Magaluf so it was a 5min walk to the strip! Lovely location to the beach. Would stay again as it was cheap good location 2 magaluf and the beach but would only have room only as food is so cheap in the restaurants

The thing about going to another country is how you respect it and its people,I had the pleasure of going to the Comodoro with a group of friends,as you arrive at the hotel it has an air of friendliness and calm,myself and my friends were made to feel very welcome at reception and throughout our short stay(4days).The rooms we had were top class and all had sea views(lovely).The food was plentiful,well presented and tasted superb,just a short walk was the beach and it was very clean as were the streets all over palma nova.All in all a superb hotel and destination for a holiday.And i speak for my whole group when i say we loved every minute of our stay(ENJOY EVERYONE)

Room Tip: The hotel keeps you as far or as near to nightlife

The Comodoro is in a delightful location fronting onto the beach at the headland which separates Palma Nova from Magaluf. From the jetty in front of the hotel there are boat trips along this fascinating coast line.

The accommodation is slightly weary and showing its age but the public areas are fine.

The pool did not appear to be heated and had minimal use during our visit (Mar/Apr).

The food was adequate if unexciting. It is certainly not haute cuisine but still offers good value for money on the all inclusive rates. Pork, chicken and fish are the main menu items for lunch and dinner; beef was less frequently featured and duck legs appeared once during our stay. A good selection of fresh salads was available every day.

Breakfast items include bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes, sausages as well as continental breakfast items and a selection of cereals. Breakfast scored higher than lunches and dinners in our opinion.

If you are a television addict (English speaking) you will probably be less than enchanted with CNN News on a tiny television with a snowy picture.

All in all: the trip (all inclusive) offered excellent value for money for our purposes and (despite some obvious weaknesses) the trip was relaxing and pleasant.

Perhaps the outstanding feature of this hotel is the staffing. Receptionists, waiters, cleaners and (in particular) bar staff were outstanding showing attentiveness, friendliness, professionalism and good humour.

Would I go there again? Probably not. Not because of the hotel but because of its location. I stayed in Magaluf some 42 years ago and thought it was delightful. This time I was frequently embarrassed at being British. The loutish behaviour, foul language was not exclusively British, but it seemed predominantly so. This particular hotel is clearly not aimed at loutish clientele, but this element is never far away in this part of the island.

This hotel has a sister unit in Paguera. This could well be my next holiday in Majorca.

Room Tip: Free parking - quiet hotel in lively surroundings

We stay there for our summer holiday...Well what can I say...We love Palma Nova,Majorca but the hotel is really old and worn out...We have a nice sea view from the 6-th floor,nice refrigerator but that was that...Everything else from that was deja view 20-25 years ago.
My compliments go to the reception desk and to the restaurant staff.I enjoyed every moment there.
Last day the smell coming from bathroom was very bad...Auuu I have been to many hotels before,but this...this was disaster.

As I say deffo not 4* in today's standards it might have been 4 when it first opened , but today no chance, the views are lovely from rooms but the furniture in rooms and furnishings deffo not upto a 4 star standard, old mahogany furniture that is chipped and old, and a 14" TV with only CNN as an english channel does get tiresome , never tried the food but was told was decent by many and nothing special by others, if you want luxury do not expect it here its out of date in 4 star standards, no where near 4 star

clean = yes
location = good
rooms = average (4 star 25 years ago)
service = good and helpful
value = not the best as it charges premium for 4 star when it is not
sleep = good
