“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2009

Just got back from a week at the tordos had such a good time ignore bad reviews. Food is really good great choice always something different and cook alot of meat infront of you. Drinks and snacks on all inclusive definitely worth the money. Pool areas are lovely the children's pool is excellent not over crowded but do have to get up early for good sunbeds. The mirlos is alot more modern than tordos but tordos was very clean and room size was fine. Great location few minutes to rows of shops and bars and literally 2 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes into magaluf. Plenty to do western water park and marine land are great for kids. Enjoy yorur stay

I struggle to understand some of the comments left on this site from moaning people about the busy hotel and the amount of kids. They booked a flintstones themed hotel in the middle of June so i dont know what they expected. some people just cant help moaning.
CHECK IN took approx 5 mins by the very helpful reception.
ROOMS cleaned everyday, satellite channels with bbc and Sky news, No complaints.
ALL INCLUSIVE FOOD N DRINK excellent choice, we have never been more happy with food selection. ENTERTAINMENT they were a great team who made our stay brillliant. I did water aerobic, shooting, archery, etc and had I wished could have also joined in with spinning, water polo etc.I can not think of a single thing to complain about and my husband and I travelled without children despite the flintstones theme. go and try the tordos for yourself it was an excellent £1050 well spent.......
by the way.......the weather was fantastic

went to this hotel in june there was 5 adults in total it was the best all inclusive food wise that we have been to . the location of the hotel is brilliant . now for the down side there were just too many children . we knew it was a family hotel but had not realised just how many there would be . with the mirlos being next you have all the children from ther as well .it just seemed just too much like butlins .the bedrooms are also very small we had 3 adults in our room . we had to wait for them to bring another bed in which was only a bed suitable for a child . other than that we enjoyed our holiday

Just got back from a 5 night stay, with my husband, step daughter and 2 grandchildren aged 3 & 7. The hotel ( we stayed in Mirlos all inc )couldnt be faulted for its cleanliness. Pool area lovely and clean with lifeguards on duty. Good choice of food at meal times and restuarant staff worked hard. Some of the bar staff seemed a bit miserable. The only downsides i would say was the lifts, only 2 so sometimes you could wait a while and our shower wasnt the greatest i have used. If your all inc and want snacks after meal times, you have to go next door to tordos hotel, this is no great hardship but they should make thatclear when you book .All in all a great hotel, great location. We would definately go back again.

Travelled to the tordos for 10 day all inclusive - The hotel itself was great all facilities you need 2 minute walk to the beach and surrounded by lots of vars and restuarants. The only downfall was the food its very repetative so had to eat out for 4 nights. Excellent value for money good entertainment and great for children. Not enough sun loungers for everyone and as usual people were going down in the middle of the night to put there towels out. Most of the staff are friendly but some are very miserable. The entertainers worked very hard with the children and the evening entertainment. If you have children very good place to go to and great value for money. Rooms are quite small. I would go back to this hotel but would go half board.!!!

Well where do i start. We had origonally booked up for Salou this summer but had to cancel. We went online but couldn't find anything that suited our girls ( aged 1.5 and 4.5). Our friends told us about the Milos/Tordos so we booked this after reading good reviews. We booked for one week All Inclusive and flew with ryanair. This cost us £1020 all in which was pretty good for the time of year. Upon arrival after a short journay in a taxi which was 30 Euros, our first impressions were good. a quick check in then onto our room on the 1st floor. The lifts are quite small and take a while to go from top to bottom. We were given a family room which has 5 beds in it, which was more than ample. Plenty of storrage space with only a small balcony( which is imaterial). From there on in it was fun all the way. From great entertainment every night to great food that is always fresh and never repeated throughout the 7 days, apart from the usual chips, nuggets and Pizza to keep the kids happy. Between the 2 hotels there are 3 pool areas. One at the Mirlos and 2 at the Tordos, of which one is in Flintstones land which has slides, water activities and a small park. The 2 kids clubs are fantastic and the staff take great care of your kids throughout the day. They are open between 10-2 and then 3-7pm. The whole hotel is kept spotless throughout the day. The location is great for shops and the beach. From the back gate it is only a 2 minute walk to both . The beaches are clean and sea great for a swim. Palma Nova itself is very nice for a walk to take you away from the hotel for a while.
All in all if anyone is slagging of this Hotel they really need a reality check.
By the way we are coming back next year :-)

Just back from 2 weeks at the Sol Mirlos where we stayed half-board. This was our first familly holiday abroad with our 20 month old daughter.

ARRIVAL - On arrival we were checked in really quickly and allocated a room on the 6th floor. When you walk into the reception, first impressions were really good. The lobby is always spotless and the reception area is very modern looking with it's colourful lighting.

LIFTS - As mentioned in many other posts, there are only 2 very small lifts (max 6 people) and you sometimes had to wait at busy times. We chose to use the stairs whenever possible.

ROOMS - We had requested a sea view room and were delighted with ours which also overlooked both adult pools. The rooms aren't the biggest we've stayed in, but they are big enough for what you need. We were given a good quality wooden cot for our little one, complete with very cute Flintstones bedding. All rooms have ceiling fan and air con but no kettle or hair dryer.

RESTAURANT - All meals in the hotel are buffet style. Half board was perfect for us as the food can get a bit repetitive by then end of the 2nd week. For breakfast there was a good range of fruit juice, cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit, cooked breakfast and selection of cakes, biscuits and croissants. For the evening there was always a soup, salad cart including cheese and cold meats, and a large selection of main meals including plenty of fish, meats (including 2 choices cooked to request at the grill). The sides of chips, potatoes, veg, pasta and rice were also good, and for the fussiest eaters pizza and chicken nuggets. My husband particuarly enjoyed the puddings that were on offer and raved about the custard, The restaurant was kept very clean, had plenty of high chairs and the staff were excellent with the kids. Special mention to Francisco who was great with our little girl.

FLINTSTONES - The hotels have a Flintstones theme which runs throughout the hotel. The childrens section of the restaurant looks like it's come straight from Bedrock. There is also a full size replica of the car outside which proved as big a hit with the adults as the kids. There are other fibre glass vehicles and characters scattered around the hotel as well as a gift shop in the Mirlos. Also, if you win 9 activities you can get a free item from the shop. The staff also dress up in Fred, Barney and Dino suits to entertain the kids.

FACILITIES - The hotel has a bank of 6 internet kiosks available for 3 euros for 15 mins. Although the computer in the games room was slightly cheaper. In the games room there were 2 pool tables, 2 x-box console (again pay per use) some arcade games and a pinball machine.

SWIMMING POOLS - The hotel has 3 pools. They are kept very clean and watched over by lifeguards, but they weren't very busy when we were there, maybe due to them being a bit colder than you'd expect! The kids pool at the side of the Mirlos is fantastic. Nice and shallow and has plenty of chutes and water features to keep the children entertained.

ENTERTAINMENT - There is something on every night on the main stage halfway between the two hotels. This starts with a childrens disco at 8:30 with the main show starting at 22:00. These were all really good, but the stand out ones for us were These Beatles, and the staff's own Disney Fantasia show.

ACTIVITIES - There are plenty of childrens activities provided by the staff who were very good with the kids. Our daughter was a bit young, but children aged 4+ were having a really good time. The adult activities are also very good and there are plenty to do during the day (check the schedule in the Tordos reception). My husband enjoyed the rifle and pistol shooting, archery, water baskets and table tennis. Again the staff are exceptionally good with our favourites being Juanan, Alex (Alejandro), Gerrit, Guty and Lori who made a great holiday even better. Thank you all.

LOCATION - The hotel is in an ideal location. From the front door you can turn left and go a short walk to Magaluf. Turning right it's a short walk to Palma Nova although we tended to use the back door for this, which you can get back in using your room card.

RECOMENDATIONS - Here are just a few of the things that we really liked and would recomend to others. Golf Fantasia, Tutti Frutti Ice Cream, Andratx Market, Palma, Orion's Bar, El Mecca Bar, Castaways, Natalies, Happy Chinese (set meal). Also be sure to check out the Eroski supermarket and if you can manage the walk Mercadonna which are a lot cheaper than the local shops, juice, crisps and especially for nappies and baby wipes.

Palma Nova on the whole is a very family friendly resort, and we found the hotel was also a great place for children. We'd definitely recomend it to other families.
