“thumbs up!! Our family give it 10/10!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Being a first 'Spanish' holiday experience for our family, kids 7 and 5, we left more than happy with our Tordos experience. To be frank I was initially gutted we got Tordos, because Mirlos looked smarter, but we were thrilled with our large room on the second floor.
Participating in the events can enhance the holiday experience, and the entertainemnt staff worked tirelessly to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. Their jolly banter was great, and the kids club staff were so kind to our children, despite the fact they only chose to do a few activities with them. The evening entertainment surpassed my expectations. We loved the fright night, High School Musical and Peter Pan. Outside entertainment was brilliant, particularly the Beatles and the magician.
Food, again, pleasantly surprised. Great selection, cooked and prepared and presented well. The whole family loved deciding what to have each night.
Bars, great friendly staff, some queues, but nothing outrageous. Again, they were lovely to our kids, who often went up on their own to get a lolly or a drink.
Room, clean, spacious, view not brilliant, but quiet and cool at night. Shower was brilliant.
Patrons, everyone we met were so friendly and nice, like us, thrilled with the hotel. We met a lot of people who have returned year after year, which says a lot.
Speaking of returning, we would definitely come here again. The atmosphere was friendly and lively, local walking was great, beach minutes away. I personally feel participating in the activities really helped, as it was there we met others easily.
Seriously, simply cannot fault the hotel - down to earth, friendly, quiet at night, very very pleasant.

Room Tip: lower floors mean not having to contend with the elevators

My partner (23) and I (21) stayed at sol mirlos tordos from the 7th August - 14th August 2012. Before our stay I requested with our travel agent to stay in the Mirlos and I also emailed the hotel directly. When we arrived at the hotel we were given room 203 in the Mirlos. Even though we didn't request a low floor I was extremely chuffed as there is only 2 small lifts and at peak times there was ques of people waiting. We used the stairs all the time. The reson I requested the mirlos was due to the fact it's more modern. The rooms are very basic but at the end of the day there only to sleep in. Our room got cleaned every day with fresh towels etc. also half way through are stay we're got clean bed linen. There is also air con and a roof fan in the room which is fab!! The one gripe id say about the rooms is the walls are literally paper thin..in the end we slept with ear plugs in!! The food at the hotel is excellent, so much variety, but If you stay for longer than a week it would probably get a bit repetitive. Wide variety of drinks under the all inclusive package, also mineral bottles of water which was great as we went thought a lot of it and it saved us having to buy from local shops. The location of the hotel is excellent, 3mins from the beach, 5mins from Palma nova shops and about 10mins from the magaluf strip. Magaluf is pleasant though the day but if the night life isn't your scene I'd stay away of an evening as you can't walk for literally 2secs without gettin stopped to go into pubs/clubs. If your not a fan of screaming kids I'd probably avoid this hotel as it is a family orientated hotel. But it didn't really bother us. We also noticed that a lot of couples young, middle aged and pensioners went here. The sun bed situation is also a nightmare, you can't get a sunbed after 9am. In the end my boyfriend got up at 7:30am to wait and get one as a lot of selfish people got up early put towels on sunbeds and never used them all day!! So inconsiderate. All in all our holiday was magic, from the flight, transfer and hotel. We would defiantly recommend this hotel to all ages, and we would also recommend travelling with first choice! We were well looked after. Also thank you to benji who was covering the hotel on th first day for kimmy, you were extremely welcoming. Also kimmy our rep was also on hand In the reception area if we needed any questions answered. Fab!!

We visited as a famly of 3 2 adults and a child in August. As expected the sun bed situation is just crazy....the morning we left we were waiting in the lobby at 6.10am and there were people sat in the pitch blak waiting for sunbeds never experienced anything like that in my life!! This maks the hotel down in my opnion, i have stayed at othe hotels and you normally have some sort of grased area but not here at times it is difficult to walk around the pool area because bed and sandwiched in...........the roms are very basic no fidge which if you are travelling with very small children not ideal....cleaning of the rooms were excellent...we called the hotel about a week in advance and requested the Mirlos side of the hotel which is much nicer and a low floor.and that was what we got...i have to say on the plus side the food is amazing so much choice and standard is excellent..by far some of the best hotel food i have had......the kids entertanment was OK had a lot better in other hotels and because we booked on line and not through Cosmos or TCook we didnt have a rep and this ment we had to find out the info of clubs ourselves and wasnt always clear.....only other thing i would point out is we used the cosmos rep to book a trip to marine land which included coach transfer but she failed to mention this didnt include a return trip so luckily we had enough cash for a cab!!! the bed was he worst thing i have ever slept on and the walls are paper thin!

My wife and I travelled with our two year old daughter and other family members to this hotel which we researched prior to booking. At the end of our 10 days I was left disappointed as there are better hotels in the area. Mirlos/Tordos are very large hotels, and we couldn't help but admire the sun lounger dash first thing in the morning! There are a huge number of guests, which you do expect at the end of July - and this detracts from this establishment. However, the hotel is very close to the beach, shops and various eateries.

Food - it is okay and there is plenty to eat. I felt the salad option was quite disappointing for a Mediterranean country and it is a rotational 7 day menu. It can be busy at peak times, however the desserts (or puddings!) were good. Loads of fresh fruit available and of course drinks both alcoholic and soft.

Rooms - clean, tidy and serviced daily, although they are smaller than brochures/internet pictures! Our view was onto waste ground at the side of the hotel. Any issues were dealt with promptly by the staff. It's always nice to have the choice of a bath or a shower too!

Staff - our experience were the staff work tirelessly. Always a smile and nothing was too much trouble. They were the big plus point of our time there.

One issue was the lift and how slow it could be. There are two lifts and they hold 6 people at a time. If, like us, you had a buggy then it vastly reduces the number allowed in the lifts and it was not uncommon for us to wait 20 minutes on a lift and being on the upper floor it was a hike down the stairs!

Taking everything into account for the price we paid, it was a fairly expensive holiday in a basic hotel. Be warned it is a 3 Star and not as Thomas Cook claim 4 Star!

Room Tip: Pool view rooms have the best view, but can be noisy in the evening as they overlook the entertainme...

We got moved to the sol Tordos as the place we booked and ended up in was truly horrendous (do not book a holiday at the rui club tropicana) and me and my boyfriend had a really great time here.
there is a very chilled and relaxed atmosphere about this hotel.
I thought it catered for mostly everyone, we saw a lot of different types of people here from young couples, older couples and family's and never personally had any problem with loud people at night or groups of teenagers even though it is close to magaluff.
It is literally right in front of the beach and is about 5 minute walk there and right next to loads of little shops and there is also i really cool little mini golf near by as well that is open late for something to do in the evenings, so i would say this hotel is situated in a really good place.
the rooms were clean and presentable so didn't have a problem with them at all.
there is so much to do there too and there is a coach that you can get to places such as aquariums and water parks.
the only thing I would say was a let down was the food as it was very samey and a bit missmatched but there are loads or bars and restaurant right next door if you don't fancy what's cooking that night and I would recommend the pizza place right at the end of the Palma walk way in front of the last beach (can't remember the name of it but it was nice pizza!).

I would definitely go back to this hotel and definitely recommend it! :)

Room Tip: They only had two lifts and have 9 floors, so the lifts were often packed, we were lucky to only be...

We arrived at the Tordos (August 2012) just after midnight to a really grouchy guy on reception and whilst being ignored for 20 mins by him was quite shocked by the number of 'pain in the butt' kids racing about screaming at each other and their very drunk 'adults' arguing.
I must admit I was tempted to move out of the hotel the next day, but I am glad I stayed...it became clear over the week that although there are many 'not so nice' people there (Mainly staying at the Tordos it seemed) that there are also many families who are slightly more civilised and not so argumentative they were usually found round by the pool in front of the Mirlos rather than the Tordos. Food was always good and the location for us was brilliant. There should however be a better way of allocating sunbeds as for the 3 days we decided to stay by the pool I had to get up at 7.30am to wait until 8.00am to grab a chair and a couple of sunbeds...luckily I didn't need an umbrella otherwise I would have had to go down at 6.30am. All in all though we had a good time, kids clubs reps were very active although my two refused to go preferring to do their own thing. I have to say that the staff in the resturant and bars although very busy were always helpful and deserve a smile and tip every now an then to make up for some of the 'not so nice' people that were there.
We won't go there again having identified a couple of better options whilst in resort but I can't be too picky as this was a last minute booking and we did get relatively good value really.

Went here on 31st July untill 7th August 2012 with 4 adults 2 children and a infant after reading the positive reviews on here we couldn't wait and this hotel did not disappoint one bit we all enjoyed ourselves the food was excellent rooms clean and big enough for us after all you only sleep in them ! They had Cbbc which entertained the kids while we got ready in the restaurant we easily found a table got 6 of us every morning dinner and tea the staff were very friendly. They were always asking around the pool if you wanted to play games table tennis water polo ect.. The entertainment on a night was great while we were there we watched abba tribute (brilliant) fantasia (great for kids and Disney lovers) a magician high school musical we. Also ventured out a few nights and saw some flamenco dancers at Diana's bar near the sea front (walk out the back gate through the park and you can't miss it ) only on a Monday night though we also walked further and saw a Motown group which were great too. The bean is beautiful also. Back to the hotel the pools are fantastic especially the kids pool which kept our 8 ,4 and 1 yr old occupied all day my advice is to go reserve subbed before breakfast as the saddos take them up before they are unlocked with plastic chairs were they want there beds get a life people especially the couple who had reserved there's before 9 am only to leave them all day and when they returned after 5 the sun had gone from there bed so the moved there towels somewhere else u selfish people !!! I hope u read this !!! . Overall though fantastic holiday fantastic hotel bang smack in the middle of everything perfect we will certainly be back !!!! X
