Just returned from my stay at the Cala Blanca, it was my first stay at this hotel and my parents 2nd stay, we upgraded to sea view rooms which were really well decorated, spacious, with very good comfortable furniture on the balcony. The wardrobe space was good with decent hangers, there was space to place clothes on the shelves (the shelves I take it were in place of drawer space) and adequate for our needs. The bed linen was of good quality with matching curtains, linen change was every other day as were towels which was excellent. We did not have to ask for extra pillows as these were already provided (a first for Spain).
We took our own kettle and left our milk in their fridge so that we could have tea and coffee in our room, I can't stand to not have a cup of tea first thing in the morning.
Hairdryer in the bathroom not good, lucky I don't have thick luxurious hair!
The dining room: excellent furniture, very impressed. The head waiter was excellent as were the rest of the staff.
The food was of a very high standard, the selection on offer at both breakfast and dinner was in my opinion the best I have sampled in a 4 star hotel in either mainland or island Spain (I was a tour rep on the Costa del Sol so have experience).
Cuisine is a matter of taste but I think this hotel catered for all tastes, there was so much choice, for me the salad variety was excellent. There was always a carvery meat each evening with a selection of potatoes and vegetables. At breakfast there was at least 5 different breads, at least 5 pastries/cakes, 4 cereals with 3 different types of milk, diet selection of condiments which was helpful for my mother who is diabetic. There was on offer 3 different types of sausages and a chef to cook eggs, fried, scrambled or omelettes also fresh pancakes. The variety of fruit available was varied and excellent.
Evening entertainment, we only spent one evening in the hotel, the entertainment was a three piece band, they were good but I would have liked them to sing some spanish songs not all english, but that's just my opinion.
Pool and Sun Loungers: well its a shame the hotel allows greedy people to reserve beds with their towels, as the week wore on they were getting up earlier and earlier to reserve their beds, by the end of our week one woman was up at 6am! and some people would place their towel and go out for the morning. There are approx 70 beds around the pool and I can only imagine what this is going to be like in the height of the season.
I would like to see management remove all towels from beds not in use.
Swimming pool - I did not see any water checks being made on the water quality or cleaning being carried out - this is not to say it didn't happen, I just never witnessed it.
Indoor Pool - well me and my husband found the pool and had a swim, we also found the small patio area which we had all to ourselves, the lifeguard came round and we spoke to him and he went to find me an ashtray, which was nice.
Overall I enjoyed my stay, the hotel location was good, the room was good, the restaurant and the restaurant staff exceeded my expectations.
