I traveled to Magaluf with 4 other girls all aged 18. We booked with Thomas Cook and they took pretty good care of us. Bus transfer from the airport was arranged and reps were on site telling us which bus it was and where to find it. Got to the hotel and had to queue for ages to book in because so many people arrived at the same time as us, from Northern Ireland and England. The reps gave us a chat with some rules, including how much it cost if you vandalised anything, and a free glass of Sangria (eugh!)
Finally got up to our rooms: 1 room of 3 and 1 of 4 (there were originally meant to be 6 of us) so we split 2 and 3. The rooms were basic but clean. I couldn't get the tv working and there was no remote. The air conditioning was abit tricky and involved standing on a chair to reach it. The fridge was strange and the door shelf wasn't secured so we ended up smashing a whole bottle of drink as it fell off the door. It had everything we needed though including towels which, if i remember, were replaced daily.
The pool was a basic square, with no markings determining deep from shallow. There were no life guards and no rules and a random supply of lilos were sitting about. Sun loungers were a problem some days, you needed to get up early to get them but considering most people staying there didn't get up til round 12, at 8am most loungers were empty. The beach is very close, theres even a gate at the back of the pool which takes you straight onto the beach and the path along it (which if you follow along leads to a wonderful little daquiri bar where we spent a lot of time getting free samples).
Our main problem was the night guard who always seemed to catch us the one time during the night where we were moving from one room to another within our group. He reported us and we were threatened with an eviction warning 3 days before we were due to leave even though we didn't really do anything. So on the last night we took the p155 for funs!
Were the hotel is situated is no more than a 5minute walk to the main strip where there are many good clubs. Would recommend BCM and the MCP clubs, specifically Bananas where we saw Sash (yay)! There are plenty of deals on wrist bands (however I wouldn't recommend buying into the reps wristband deals because its not worth it!!). There are loads of giftshops/restaurants/bars on route to the strip so your at a loss for nothing, including booze which is on sale in nearly every shop (dirt cheap)! We went to see Pirates Uncut which is definitely worth it if you get the chance! And we also went to the Western Water Park which was really good and you can get good deals (dont believe the internet; Aqualand Magaluf doesn't exist anymore!)
Well that sums up our holiday really and it was worth the low price we paid as we got a really good deal from the travel agent. Would definitely go again!
