10 girls ranging in age from 25 to 50 went to mow a meadow!!!!! in Magaluf........ Stayed at the Magamar and after reading the reviews were dreading it. We all considered ourselves to be professional women who usually only 'do' the good hotels but decided for a girlie weekend of drink and more drink that cheap and cheerful would do. The Magamar reception staff could not have been more helpful, rooms were basic but really clean with well equipped kitchen, decent shower, clean bedding which was changed during the 4 days we were there. Security guard although friendly put up with no nonsense and noise was no-where near as bad as the reviews we read made out. The pool was clean, we never used the bar so cannot comment on bar prices. Hotel was close to everything but we did not risk walking the dodgy back road if we were alone and always got taxis back. Magaluf is a clean Blackpool with a passport. Really suprised at how well presented the resort is but with a club/pub/bar or restaurant on every corner you could not escape the fact it is a drinking, eating heaven. You can do the £1.00 burger and chips or have a really good tapas or steak. Drink is unbelievably cheap and most bars on the strip give you tickets to get drinks free and we struggled to spend money one night after having free jugs of cocktails and shots...........
Never saw any trouble, people were really friendly, staff in all pubs were great.
Beach was clean and not too crowded but wouldn't like to think I was going there in peak season.
Would go back to Magamar for girlie thing again but probably not the best place for families in summer although you would have been ok in May.
Hope this is helpful and hope you get as little sleep and have as many laughs as we did.................. x x

My stay at the Magamar apartments was truly an awful experience! I went in 2005 with 10 other girls and with the exception of maybe 4 others, we were the only girls in the hotel. Ok if we were on the pull but we just wanted to sunbathe and dance and were welcomed to the apartment with water bombs and buckets of water that were thrown over us by chavvy boys as we took our cases off the coach. That combined with a converted prison, oppressively hot rooms and constantly drunken neighbours trying to climb over onto our balcony made a truly terrible holiday. The locals obviously know about the secluded walk back to the Magamar and on several occasions (our first night included) local lads drove down the road, jumped out of the car and groped members of our group before speeding off. We complained to the Thompson rep and asked if we could transfer to the Jungla but were told that 'only people in their 50s don't like this hotel'! Maybe...... but nobody wants to feel unsafe in a foreign country! The reps were unhelpful and didn't care how unhappy we were- they just wanted our money.
On another occasion we returned to the Magamar after a night out to see a boy in the lobby obviously in need of help. It was clear to everyone that he had taken too many drugs yet the hotel security guard was ignoring him. We asked him to phone an ambulance but he continued to pretend that everything was ok and after about half an hour of us nagging he gave in and phoned one. We were appalled that the one person in the Magamar who was supposed to be looking after the guests' welfare had such a flippant attitude! Whether he saw the English as lager louts or not he should've been concerned for the well being of a hotel guest.
I would say to anybody thinking of staying here- it really IS as bad as everybody sayd unless you are on drugs or have no problems with being groped on the walk home.

Ultimately what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger and my stay at the Magamar has taught me that if I can get through those 2 weeks I can handle pretty much anything!

We went 2 Magamar for a week in May, and loved it!! we've already booked to go back in ten weeks. All the staff are lovley and the reps are top and very helpfull (Steve whoo) we were trawling the landings all night sneaking in lads apartments, its like bein on holiday with school - without rules but with a load of beer. if u havn't been 2 pirates definatly go... but don't believe what they say about the pirates punch - ewww. for young people who want a good laugh we'd highly reccomend these apartments... cant wait 2 c every one again!! the girls from 218 haha :-P

After booking our holiday to Magamar we came across some bad reviews saying that it was really noisy and was laid out like a prison! although this is true- there are some things you can do to help yourself. Firstly, if you find that sleeping in your bedroom is too noisy (and there isn't many of you staying in the appartment) go and sleep in the living area (on the sofa and pull out bed) the room is much cooler and much less noisy!! the reps were really nice and made sure we all had a great holiday!! If you're the type of person who goes out all night (trust me - you will!!) then it's the perfect place to stay. it's location is not bad at all just be careful at night as the road leading to the hotel is quite dark. also beware of the wall in front of the hotel when you're drunk as it's broken and sticks out all over the place!! overall, it was a really good atmosphere and everyone was really friendly. you will also meet lots of people if you choose to pay for the freestyle package where all your evening are planned for you. enjoy!!

Hey there peeps

I am actually sitting in the lobby of Fiesta Magamar on the computer as I write this and would like to tell you all, don´t listen to the bad reviews that some people have written. This place is great. It is only a 10 minute walk if that to the local bars and clubs etc. Freestyle reps are really nice and help you loads as do the hotel staff. Also the food and drink is great in the Magamar. If you are a person who loves going out but also likes a cooked breakfast to recover the next day then have no worries you can have a cooked breakfast until 1pm! The one thing I have to say is that you won´t get a lot of sleep due to people coming and going at all hours.

Went to the Pirates show last night and it was amazing. Definetly worth going. And if you want a good laugh currently working as security for Pirates is the one and only Jason aka Mr Vain from Big Brother 5. Do you remember him?????? He was the one who couldn´t stop posing in front of the mirror lol. Also my mate went up to him and started singing the song " call him Mr Raider, Call him Mr Vain" song and he gave her a right dirty look HAHAHAHA.

Whilst here I have also been to the BCM Foam party which was excellent. So if you are booked to come stay here or are thinking of booking then you shoud do so. Also the good thing is if you have a night time flight on the day you leave you can book 24hrs in advance to have your room until 6pm on the day you leave for a small charge of 40 €. This is subject to availability though.

So if you want to stay in Magaluf book into the Fiesta Magamar Self Catering Aparthotel.

I booked with Thomson and Freestyle who are excellent companys.
