I went to Magaluf in July for a girls holiday with 7 of my friends, all aged 18. We were apprehensive about going, worried about the hotel reviews we’d seen. However, Fiesta Sahara was amazing!! I loved the hotel and would definitely head back! On entering the hotel, we were greeted by the reps. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the layout, staff at reception were pleasant also. Obviously, treat them with respect and you'll get the same back. You have to pay a £30 deposit, which we were not aware of, but it was understandable. We left our room in quite a mess, (no damages however), yet still got our deposit back so not that strict. We didn't hire a safe or buy the air conditioning. Nothing got stolen, and didn't know of others who had stuff stolen, just be wary of leaving things lying - common sense really. Air conditioning was probably needed, just because it was so hot and humid at night, uncomfortable to get ready in, but we got by. The air conditioning cost £70, and then a £20 deposit for the remote. Considering that’s only £2.50 a day for a week between 4 people, I would get it next time, but we're from Scotland so obviously we're going to be tight with our money! Rooms were cleaned every other day, with fresh towels and sheets - maid was very good, and obviously tolerate with messy girls! Reasonably safe area, there was security at all times so felt safe.
The hotel was loud, but the atmosphere was so fun! We did have noisy neighbours, but what else would you expect from a party location?! Obviously you’re not going to get the best nights rest in the world, but we got a good enough sleep... and why waste the time! I was nervous about the pull out bed and sofa beds and, although the room was small and it was a bit tight, they were so comfortable - probably even more so than the beds! The rooms were pretty basic, but better than I had expected. Showers worked and we didn't need to hold our shower head or any problem like that. We had a blocked sink at one point, but within 10 minutes of phoning reception, someone was up to fix it - very impressive.
I would recommend requesting a room facing the pool/ other block of rooms as it was fun phoning other rooms opposite and meeting up with randoms. The pool was nice, quite hard to get sun loungers though, and the bar food was good value for money. We preferred going to the beach though, it was literally 5 minutes away and was much nicer and tidier than we had expected!
The kitchen facilities were basic, but they worked, however we ate out most nights at Bar Moon, which was literally just opposite the hotel - great value for money - slow service but very welcoming, we went religiously every day! Good other restaurant and bars round about the hotel, great location. Hotel wasn't as close to the strip as we feared, was about a 2 minute walk to BCM Square (AMAZING) and then like 4 minutes from the strip, as well as other bars dotted along the corner. AMAZING night life!!!!! We managed to spend like 10 Euros a night, 15 at the most. Good deals - listen to bar reps!! 5 euros for 2 drinks each, 2 shots each and 2 pitchers between 8 of us... try blagging - but again treat with respect. The reps at the hotel were annoying, and tried to sell you everything. Really couldn't say if they were value for money seeing as we didn't buy one at all - we were very ruthless! Just did our own thing. Just be aware that if we were able to get buy on the 5 Euro deals then don't think they would be worth it, but see what you fancy! The strip was so good, and BCM and BCM square were incredible. Definitely would go back to Maga, and Fiesta Sahara - great atmosphere!!
Giving it 5 stars, not saying it’s a 5 star hotel, but it was a highlight of the holiday, had an unforgettable atmosphere and would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.
Rooms facing the pool were more fun!
