“stay away you will be ill”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2008

We stayed at Sol Trinidad for 4 nights between 29th July-2nd August .On arrival at hotel everything seemed fine , rooms ready, clean , reception staff friendly enough , we were just in a hurry to put our luggage in the rooms to hit the strip.Well , it all went downhill from here , there was 4 people in our party and the 4 of us got sick one by one , so much so as 1 had to have a doctor called out to be given an injection and sent to hospital by ambulance. The doctor commented on the heat in the hotel room as there was no air conditioning just a ceiling fan which was no use or good..Luckily this was our last day in the hotel and we were due to fly home later that evening ..as 2 of our party were really ill we hoped reception would locate a room for them to lie down in but guess what we were told NO the hotel was fully booked and they had to lie in the hotel reception on 2 couches spreading the virus around the hotel. The amounts of people who were ill in this hotel was horrendous.we put this down to the heat with no air conditioning so therefore the viruses are trapped with no where to escape so just incubating for the next person to catch it!! Luckily enough we got out sick party home , and they ended up in hospital in the uk on potassium and glucose drips , 1 even was severley dehydrated that her brain swelled, luckily shes on the mend now ..We have gone to magaluff for a few years for girlie hols , NEVER AGAIN WOULD I STAY AT THIS HOTEL ..infact its put me off returning to Magaluff in the future...GOOD LUCK PEOPLE

just got back today (august 3rd 08),having read previous reviews was dreading the stay. However really enjoyed the stay, food was good, rooms clean, only fact is that there was no aircon, only a ceiling fan which was rubbish, the heat in the room was sometimes unbareable.excpected a lot of noise at nght but it was relitivelly quiet.you must remember were you are, central location great, woldnt recomend for families with young kids, brilliant for groups especially stag/hen parties.dont forget you only sleep in the room,if you think its bad then what are you doing going to Magaluff, you obviously dont go out alot.

This hotel is by far the worst i have stayed in and should not be classed as 3 star its more like 2 or even 1! when we arrived we had to wait 2 and a half hours, because the very unhelpful and unfriendly staff at reception informed us the room wasnt ready!! so we had to sit around in the boling heat waiting, only to find when we got our room it wasnt even clean! there was dirt stuck to the wardrobe doors and dirt stuck to your feet as the floor hadnt been mopped. the bedding was never changed all week and the only thing the maid ever did was put fresh towels and toilet roll in, as i witnessed this she was in our room for no longer than two minutes a day! the food is awfull as i am vegetarian although they did have a section labelled vegetarian what said vegetarian lasagne but actually it was jus real lasagne they just hadnt changed the sign!! good job i didnt eat it! also i got some white rice which was just labelled rice only to find it had prawns in! it is almost impossible to get a sunbed by the pool unless you get up at the crack of dawn in which there is still no guarantee as everyone rushes to get one.i was on a hen do and the noise in the hotel can go on till gone 6 oclock in the morning which we expected as its in magaluf! But i would definately warn families to stay away from this hotel and anyone else!!!!

  • Liked — the only positive thing i can say is the location of the hotel is good.
  • Disliked — the uncleanliness of the rooms and the bad attitude from members of staff.

stayed for ten days. half board. breakfast and evening meals were good. all staff good apart from reception people. cleaners did the bare minimum, with a smile and an ola. you wont get much sleep between 3am and 6am. bcm nite club and bars open all nite. you can accept the noise of people going home but the aaaaaargggh brigade and waisters who want to make as much noise a poss didnt go down too well with me. police and security never away form this hotel. stay away from this hotel give it a wide berth.

Arrived at the hotel around midday and was greeted by a friendly member of staff. The hotel reception looked clean as did the hallways and lift.Food was really nice but did get a bit boring after a while; didnt bother us much to be honest. It's probably the best located hotel in Magalluf, near the beach and all the pubs and clubs. It was noisy but that's to be expected in Magaluf and is no fault of the hotel's.Not a hotel for those with young children but definately one for the girlies

Stayed here along with 8 other girls for 3 nights last week.

We were lucky enough to get a 9th floor room with great views, but the other 2 rooms had depressing views over the littered roof of the indoor pool.

Our room had 3 singles with a ceiling fan only (no air con here folks). Room was clean on arrival with plenty of fresh towels and they did manage to get in to clean again at least once (but that wasn't their fault). There were safes in the room for hire. We were given a courtesy room to use when we asked and there was also a luggage storage room.

We stayed half board - can't comment on breakfast as I never made it - but the evening buffet was ok. We're not talking top cuisine, but I always found something to line my stomach with.

Pool area was a joke. Not enough loungers or space in which to use a lounger. Pool water constantly murky. Go to the beach.

No chance of a quick nap before you go out either - 'entertainment' team fire up round the pool area stage around 8.30pm.

Probably the main positive is the location - McD's over the road (for the hangover munchies), beach 2 mins walk, main hub of nightlife 5 min max walk.

To summarise: Great location, crap pool area, close to the bars, bagsy the bed under the fan or go to the beach for a sleep !

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in July08. Magaluf is amazing and we will definitely be back soon but the stay in this hotel ruined it for us. The food was not good at all and was cold most of the time, staff were not very helpful and the rooms were not clean at all. The icing on the cake however was when we had at least 200 euros stolen out our room. When we reported it to the customer relations manager, she told us that her staff would not do such a thing when it could only have been them as there was never anyone else in the room at all and doors were always locked. She refused to help us and all the other people who were also going back to their rooms to find stuff stolen. Therefore I would definitely give this hotel a wide berth.
