“Cosy and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

It is easily located by the main road. Cosy setting with nice deco and friendly staff. The food is just about right to my taste buds. However, it can be quite difficult to have a decent conversation when it is crowded.

“Good food and lively atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Came late, were served promptly. The tapas we had were excellent and reasonably priced. For a thursday evening it was quite lively and seemed popular with the locals.

“Going downhill in my opinion”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Deia- the tapas was delicious and the staff were friendly, although the service was always a bit hit and miss.
This year, however, for the first time, my husband and I were really disappointed with our experiences at this place. We booked a table on the terrace for 8.30 and arrived to be told that the table was not ready and that we could wait at the bar for half an hour-no big deal in the grand scheme of things, but the attitude of the owner left a lot to be desired: she shrugged and told us to take it or leave it. We ended up sitting inside and the food was tasty enough, but the service left a bad taste in the mouth. Later in the week we went for lunch and again the food was fine, but it was so so slow, things were missed from our order, items were wrong and my Greek salad was minuscule.
If this place was a cheap and cheerful option, one might excuse its shortcomings, but it really isn't that cheap - lunch consisting of two salads, mountain ham, bread, two waters and two coffees was around 50euro. When we're back in Deia this year I doubt we'll be back- there are so many other better places to go.

“Quite average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We read all the nice reviews abound this place, and since our first and second choice in Deia were both closed due to the fact that it is November, we went to have lunch there today.
The place looks nice and the staff was friendly enough, but we were generally disappointed by the food, which we can describe as just AVERAGE and not worth the drive from Palma. The only thing which we really liked was the country bread with anchovies and peppers. The rest we tried - spanish omelet, greek salad, chicken, hot sausages - were just decent, but nothing to come back for. We took home two portions of the daily special - lamb stroganoff with cous cous - and were quite disappointed to find that lamb was just scarcely present in the boxes we opened for dinner - literaly 4 tiny pieces, for which we paid over 30 Euro.
A piece of advice to the owner - keeping a successful restaurant requires constant attention; it is in Mallorca that previously Michelin-rated restaurants have lost their stars, probably because of choosing to rely on old glory.

“Very tasty tapas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We had lunch at El Barrigon Xelini here before heading off for a stroll down to the beach. We ordered a variety of tapas, including garlic chicken, lamb with peppers, and a selection of vegetables. The food arrived in stages; we did wonder whether one of our choices had been forgotten, when it hadn't arrived 5 minutes after everything else. But everything was very tasty when it did arrive, and the waitress was helpful and friendly. A very pleasant meal.
