“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

My wife and I have just returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel. (Our third visit). I'm reluctant to recommend it to others as we may not find a vacancy next time, but I shouldn't be selfish, this is a joy to be shared. The standard of the whole experience is really great from arrival to departure. The evening entertainment is of the highest standard from the versatile resident duo through to the absolutely superb Thomson professionals with the entertainment reps working tirelessly throughout the day. Service and food in the restaurant is deserving of the highest praise with so much variety, you couldn't fail to find something to satisfy. Hotel staff were all courteous and obliging and offered service with a smile. I could go on and on but I'm just off to the travel agent to book our next visit.

My fourth visit to this wonderful hotel nestled in a buautiful horseshoe shapped cove. Jose Pardo and his Team never fail to make every stay a comlete joy. From the welcome at check in, to the polite helpfullness of the room attendants every member of staff at the Grupotel Playa is like a member of the family. The food as always was absolutley amazing, My Mum was celebrating her 72nd Birthday and I'd enquired with Jose whether he could organise a cake, not only did he get the Chef to make one our whole table was decorated with balloons, sparkles and a 'Happy Birthday' banner. My Mum also recieved a bottle of Champagne in her room, they really made her day!! I am already booked to retutn again in September this year and am already counting dawn the days. THANK YOU JOSE !!!!
See you in September

After having such a great holiday in the summer, we decided to have a week back at the Grupotel Camp de Mar, and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Jose in reception, this time we had a standard twin room with sea view, although smaller than the suite we had in the summer, we found the room to be clean, comfortable and sufficient for our needs.
We were welcomed back by all the staff we had met earlier, and feel we have made some new friends. The restaurant, bar and Thomson staff all work well to make your holiday special, and for us it was again.
Well done to you Jose, the hotel staff and the Thomson team, we will be back (already booked for the summer of 2013) and can't wait !

We had an amazing two week holiday at this hotel and it is the epitome of what customer service should provide. The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Jose, the manager, was always around to provide help with any problems or even just to chat with. The way this hotel is run is a credit to Jose and his team. We did holiday with my parents and had requested rooms together but on checking in were told we were on different floors. I was not too happy about this but they did what they could to resolve it. However we decided to stay in the suites originally allocated. Jose apologized personally and we were happy to stay in our allocated rooms. I would say book a suite (we were in suite no 122) it is extremely spacious, double sinks in the very spacious bathroom, patio doors to both bed and lounge areas, big wardrobes with loads of storage space, superb views of the mountains and sea. Bedding clean, everywhere absolutely spotless and I am extremely fussy, so it does take a lot to please me when travelling. The food was lovely and there was always so much choice. The pool is heated so even on those not so hot days, you can enjoy a swim. Every request we made was met almost immediately: we requested a bath mat, extra pillows, nothing was too much trouble. Even when the maid took an item of my clothing by mistake for the laundry Jose was available and dealt with the matter and certainly went the extra mile. We had a fantastic and very memorable holiday and want to say thank you again to Jose and the team for helping to make it such a memorable holiday. Do not hesitate to book - you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Definitely book a suite if you can but request a sea view if you cannot get a suite.
