“Second Visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

This was our second holiday to this hotel. Last year it was so lovely that we decided to go again this year. What a mistake! The hotel itself was the same but the holiday was spoilt by the Russian visitors. They took over the pool and, although it is clearly stated that No balls or Diving, they took no notice. The outside area of the restaurant was like a bonfire where tables of 12 or more of them chain smoked. There was no escaping the smokers. The snack bar serving pizza was taken over by them helping themselves to Not 1 piece but taking the whole pizza!
People say that you shouldnt go back to the same hotel because you compare it and maybe this is the case for us.
We will not be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room numbered under 100 as these are nearer to the main part of the hotel

Eighth holiday to this hotel, cannot fault it. I can see why people don't like it. It is not a 5 star hotel and if that is what you want then book one. It is a 3 star but with 5 star staff and entertainment.

The grounds are very spacious and spread out, so you don't feel on top of one another. Always plenty of sunbeds around the pool and grass areas to sunbathe on. From the Director down to the cleaning staff everyone is so friendly and pleasant, nothing is to much trouble. Food is excellent with something for everyone and is very good quality and plentiful. It is worth going to this hotel just for the entertainment team and the bar staff, who never forget you or your drinks.

Will be going back for another week in August it is that good. !!

We stayed here as family of 4 adults and 2 children in two chalets and had the best holiday ever . Plenty to do plenty to eat the food was exceptional quality amd reserved table all week. The entertainment team were first class and happy to help. Rooms cleaned daily amd although bit of a squeeze were v clean. The only fault is the long walk uphill to chalet if u miss bus. Would gp again but would book a low number room as nearer facilities big thanks to all the happy and helpful staff

First holiday abroad as a family (me, wife & 14 mth old son) and couldn't wait to get there. For the first time I hadn't had the chance to do any research via this trusty site but was quite enthused with a complete step into the unknown. Upon arrival (after a 90 minute transfer) we were met with a stand alone building. A bit strange i thought, so we entered the building to be greeted by a well presented room albeit slightly smelling of feet. (we later discovered it was the old sofas at the back of the room causing this). The receptionist (Mila) was bright and helpful and had good english. She also gave us both a glass of orange juice which was nice in 30 degree heat and asked us to write down our personal details. No copies were made of our passports which i hadn't experienced on a trip abroad for a good 15 years!! We were told a mini-bus would be along to collect us shortly as we would need help getting to our accomodation. This is when we discovered our resort was a collection of slightly differing chalets. We were both surprised as it was advertised to us as a hotel. We arrived at our chalet after a brisk journey through the winding paths of the resort. We opened up our chalet`s sliding door to reveal what i would fairly describe as a converted bed-sit. 2 Single beds were pushed together and there was also a wooden cot for our son. There was no air-con(there was an old fashioned fan that worked but it looked a bit loose), no fridge and no bath. Again we werent informed of this by good ol first choice. So after dealing with the shock of our surroundings we ventured out. We discovered several things that made us feel slightly disappointed. There were no lifts to a restaraunt with about 40 steps so my son had to carried (push chair and all) up for each meal. Directly outside the restaraunt(which was pretty good in terms of food choice & quality) was a terrace with a bar. Both areas were nice, the bar staff were jovial and friendly and it was easy to get served. However, of a night time this was the only place to gather so was easily over-crowded. Seats would go quickly so dinner had to be not too long an event in order to have a comfortable evening. The beach was a nice cove, however to use 1 sun longer it was 4£, with the addition of £4 for a parasol. So only 2 days were spent at the beach. On the left side of the beach was a craggy rock face with a few steps built into it. I found out that this led to another nearby beach and then in order to get the commercial zone another hill had to be climbed. This was the only way other than a taxi(cost £8-10 each way) to get there. I went carrying my son one day to check its safety if we did decide but upon doing it i didn't feel safe and didn't think it wise when we would have to carry a buggy too. Overall the whole resort wasn't exactly tailored to us so we were a bit disappointed with the travel agent about this.
It was sold to us as a family resort and when we booked it we even had our young son with us!
We made the best of a slightly negative situation but i'm afraid we would not go back as it was not where wanted to be and didn't like the fact that we were kinda stuck out in the sticks. Conversely there were many nationalities there and this mad it interesting, especially at dinner! Lol.

POSITIVES
*Staff
*Food
*Day trip via glass boat to Porto Cristo (took 45 mins @ cost of £20 per person)
* Toddlers pool

Overall we would give this hotel 5/10 just because we were quite disappointed with a lot of key aspects.

My 2 girl mates and I visited this hotel for a relaxing holiday and that's exactly what we got. All the staff were friendly especially the bar staff, Bruno in particular! The animation staff insured that our holiday was fun and that there was never a time when we were bored or had nothing to do. The food was fantastic, such a good variety to chose from and different every night. Thanks to all the staff for such an enjoyable holiday, Didn't want to come home!

This was a change of plan visit. It turned out to be one of my best holidays ever. From my first contact with the reception staff, who could not do enough for you. Then a beautifully cleaned room in a fantastic location with a balcony. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned in a daily basis. Thank you for the sweets Elizabeth xx

The food was excellent. So much variety. So many different nationalities staying at the resort, the food catered for all needs

The manager Dominic was great. Was always readily available and accessible - thank you for the complimentary sparkling wine - went down a treat!

I can't give this resort enough praise it was a fantastic place to have a summer break. The beach was spotless and the games and entertainment staff were great

I would recommend this place to anyone and would love to go back again next year !!

This resort was everything we planned for our holiday this year - our batteries were in need of a huge charge - the resort and beach were really lovely - a peaceful haven to relax in - the accommodation was very clean and comfortable - the staff were very friendly, helpful; polite and professional ; we needed some help booking transport back to the airport and the reception staff were extremely helpful. We were very impressed with the variety and quality of the food and the bar, restaurant and waitressing staff were welcoming and friendly without being 'in your face'.
All in all we had a really lovely and relaxing holiday.
