We stayed at the Hotel America in early October 2004 and had a great time, this was helped by the fantastic weather (30 degrees in October). The hotel rooms are quite basic but more than adequate. The hotel is set in a fantastic location with the beach on one side (down a hill) and the resort centre on the other side. All rooms have a sea view which is an added bonus. The beach is a nice little cove although take care in the sea (especially if you have young children) as it was quite rough whilst we were there. The resort is a nice size with plenty of shops, bars to keep you occupied (although the bars were very quiet when we went). Food at the hotel is good with plenty of choice. The entertainment is ok (good if you have children as there was an early disco for the kids each night) although a lot of the entertainment was in spanish and the english of the entertainer wasn't too good. All in all a good value for money holiday.

I cannot find fault with this great holiday at the america, food was varied and staff were very friendly. Superb clean rooms. all in all a great time was had by all. Plenty of cheap shops nearby. Marineland and fantasy golf well worth a visit.

Myself and my partner really enjoyed our early summer break in May 2003 were the food was lovely and the weather was superb.Staff were friendly and the local resort was fairly good.We thought so much of the place we returned in May 2004 which was a different story.The weather was ok but I suffered with food poisoning for nearly 5 days. This was also clearly evident among the rest of our fellow holiday makers who had stories to tell of the same nature .Some kids had really bad stomachs and terrible sickness and this was put down to a local virus.(I dont think so).Had a lovely memorable year first time around with a lovely beach and local secenery.The second year was recompensed by the fact that we made friends with 2 lovely girls from London who were full of fun and kindness.So every cloud has a silver lining :-)

We are a family of 4. We have been to this hotel twice. The first time we went on a last minute deal and we were unaware of the location in Majorca that we would end up. When we arrived at the Hotel America we were pleasantly surprised. The entertainment was very good. The food was lovely and we eat lots of it. Its a great place for the kids, lots of entertainment. We only went for a week the first time and we were so chilled out when we arrived home that we couldn't get back into the normal everyday stress cycle that people are usually in. We were laid back and stress free for ages after.
We had such a great time that we decided to go again 2 years later. We had a fantastic time again. Hotel America is nice and clean, friendly staff, great food (English chef). Gala dinner was beautiful. The entertainment crew we found were as entertaining as any professionals you would pay lots to go and see. Hotel near to beach, no busy roads to cross. Small town with shops, bars, nightclub etc. You don't need to worry about your kids they're quite safe there. Ours are older now but even though one is nearly an adult he's still coming with us this year. Everyone can enjoy themselves no matter what age you are. There is a quite sun terrace away from the pool for those who like to sun bathe in the quiet. You must remember to dress properly for dinner, they don't like you to go for dinner in your swim wear but you wouldn't do that at home so its no problem.
We have read the reviews on different sites and we were surprised that there were so many negative reports. I don't know what some people expect when they go away. I know that we've been twice and we've booked to go again this year and we're really looking forward to it, only 3 months to go. So if there was anything wrong with the hotel or resort I don't think we would be booking our third holiday there.
Any one out there wondering whether to go or not we would say BOOK IT NOW because you'll have a great time.
