Just returned with a party of 45. All our rooms located on the newly refurbished 8th floor with stunning sea views. This a first class hotel, great location, good food, helpful reception and friendly restaurant & bar staff. Bus stop outside to all parts of the island. Sandy beach steps away with boat services to the north. Transfer time direct from airport 50 minutes

Room Tip: The 7th and 8th floors have been refurbished to a very high standard

Just got back from a week in Hotel Americas. We had a lovely time.
Before we went we were worried by some of the bad reviews but actually it was quite nice. People who moan about it make me wonder where they get their lofty expectations. Its a 3 star hotel at 3 star prices so how can anyone expect more that 3 star standards. Bearing in mind it generally costs less for a week there all inclusive that a nice hotel in England for one night room only!
Good bits.
View - Its right on the tip of the island so great views to the sea from most aspects of the hotel.
Beach - Right on the beach, a 2 min walk down some steps and your there.
All Inclusive food and drink till midnight. And they serve beer in pint glasses rather than the usual shot size glasses you get at AI.
Staff - all speak English, and they have some English staff on hand too so language berrier is not a problem.
Average Bits.
Food - The food was quite nice, just not always to my taste. As an island they use a lot of Pork which Im not mad on. Thats not necessarily hotel specific. There was usually a good variety of meat, fish, pasta and saled. Refreshed often. Desserts were not to my taste at all but they had fresh fruit too.
Entertainment - Adult entertainment was suprisingly funny, but its kind of what you make it. A few people sat around looking grumpy and rolling their eyes, but for those that joined in and made an effort it was a laugh. $ tops and Jackson 3 were good. You Bet is very funny!
Kids entertainment - Caters for all nationalities so some songs and bits for the kids are in German. The staff really make an effort though and they keep the kids engaged. Snake show and bird show are good.
Rooms - Basic but ok. No kettle or tea bits. TV only had 2 English channels.
Bad Bits.
Location - about 60 km from airport. If you transfer its about 2 hours, We hired a car and was about an hours drive. There is a little town there but at this time of year its not exactly buzzing but apparently gets better about June - July time. Because the hotel is on the very edge jutting out it gets battered by wind from all angles. Made it feel a bit chillier but this might be a god send in the really hot months.
Pools - They were freeeeeezing! The adult pool is 2.7m deep and is not heated so takes some serious sun t warm up.
No DO NOT DISTURB signs - Sounds stupid but we slept in til late most mornings and got woken a few times by the maids knocking. Would have liked to have a sign to get left alone.
Tips
Take towels for the beach. We didnt. I thought most hotels gave them out but this one doesnt. Although we just took the room ones and no one noticed.
Go to Porto Cristo. Its about 15 mins drive away ( I think they have a bus ) Its got a beautiful harbour and a sheltered beach with low winds and crystal clear waters.
Palma Aquarium - AMAZING!!!!! 23 Euros per adult under 4s free. Coaches take cost up a lot but if your driving its defo worth it.

Me and my boyfriend booked this as a last minute getaway for our birthdays , the transfer was 2 hours but this didn't bother us as we already knew it was a long transfer. For the price we paid we weren't expecting much but as soon as we got there we knew we had picked a good hotel, hotel is very clean, with stunning views from the balconies. The food is good for a all inclusive , for people writing bad reviews , if you want better food PAY MORE and book a more expensive hotel, they tried there best to put a selection of foods on, we never went hungry anyway. The beer is good, anything you want from beer to wine to champagne to vodka, Malibu and much more (cheaper brand) although you have to pay for the international brands at an extra cost , like you do in most hotels in Europe, but the cheaper brands are just as good. Entertainment was good , always something different on every night to keep you entertained. The rooms are okay , always kept clean by the maids, although the walls are quiet thin. Hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beach and a 2 minute walk from the resort centre , were you will find shops, bars and restaurants. We couldn't fault this hotel, we really enjoyed it and would return. The hotel is in a quieter part of the island so if you want a nice relaxing holiday I would definitely recommend.

As a couple we booked this hotel last minute for a long weekend as part of my partners birthday celebration. We arrived midday and were immediately impressed by the look of the hotel. The lobby and reception area was clean modern and spacious with a array of comfy chairs and couches. Our room wasn't ready when we arrive but they still booked us in and gave us our all inclusive wrist bands and told us to have lunch and our room would be ready by the time we returned. When the said we were allocated in the annexe, separate from the hotel, we were a bit worried, but there was no need! The room was lovely, clean, modern, spacious with a stunning view over the sea. The hotel has three pools plenty of sun loungers with a drinks and snack bar open from 10 till 6. The main restaurant has two buffet areas and we could always find a table. There's a pizzeria downstairs which is good for a change from the main restaurant . The food is of a good standard for all inclusive and there's always something for all tastes. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and there's a good atmosphere about the hotel. The animation team are friendly and hard working and the entertainment was very good on Saturday night. We were both
very happy with our stay here
and would stay here again.

This hotel has an amazing view but the food is very poor. The Pizzeria offers pizzas which even
frozen iceland can do better. The main restaurant has selection of very tasteless cooked
food. The salad bar is fine and the deserts are to stay away from specially the ice cream unless
unless you never tasted a real ice cream. What is frustrating is the resorts does not offer any decent restaurant to eat out. We had to travel one hour to go to a more stablished resort to get a good meal and remind ourselves that we are not imagining and our hotel food is really bad the same comment we had
by guests we talked to . There is also no room service available. So if you can
eat the view it is a great hotel to stay.

I booked this holiday after reading the positive reviews on trip advisor as it was in my budget and looked nice. To be fair the hotel was very okay the very pretty and views are as the reviews say stunning. But the food was soooooo bad!!! And in such a small remote area there is no where to eat out. There is only one buffet restaurant and its small has no variety , tastes bland and i missed dinner one night as couldnt face eating the bad food. I even took a bus an hour and half away just to eat a decent meal. As beautiful as the views are and as average as the hotel is its a massive shame for anyone to go there for their holiday. You know there are many many other hotels in majorca why spoil your holiday and money staying somewhere not even good. We had a good time but the food was really really really bad like bad school dinners or something.

Myself and my partner have just come back from Gloables America having stayed 5 nights from 4th May 2013. For the price we paid we were over the moon, relaxing, very clean, and San Miguel on tap!! Lovely views and so close to the beach. There was always something for avery taste to eat although some random combinations at the buffet. Would recommened this to anyone and definatly go back.

Room Tip: I think all rooms have a sea view but ask if you can go on a higher level and facing the pool which...
