Was there 22 September 2010 for 7 days.Nice touch to be upgraded free on arrival. Industrial action at airport meant we had to stay extra day,no problem said one of the receptionists who were all brilliant and helpful.Apartments were clean, spacious, airy and well equiped.Would love to stay there again.Would recommend highly.Thank you for a great holiday.

We arrived during the night and were a little perturbed by the lack of representation; however we were allocated our room from the adjacent hotel and were very pleased. We requested a ground floor apartment (due to young children) and were pleased this had been arranged. The hotel’s receptionist was most helpful in the morning and we had no complaints. The hotel is clean and tidy and our room (Superior) was excellent and well up to the job, if you take an ethernet cable then you'll have free broadband in your room. We stayed on a half-board basis and this proved to be a very good decision. We have our breakfast and evening meal in the hotel’s restaurant Al Aqua. The food was excellent and combined variety with quality and we enjoyed every meal. Our children enjoyed the food too and there were ample choices available. The service was also excellent and we felt most welcome every time we visited. The minor negative, which is acknowledge by the hotel’s management, is the size of the pool. It is not small and is excellently maintained and presented. However during the first week of our two week stay, the hotel was busy and subsequently the pool was congested. This is mitigated by the hotel’s proximity to the beach (100m or 2 min walk) which is arguably the best of the seven beaches in and around Cala D’Or. The beaches of Cala Serena, Cala Esmerelda, Cala Gran and Cala D’Or are all within walking distance should you wish for a bit of variety. Finally I must mention that if you are leaving the hotel late for your flight they won’t allow you to keep your room beyond 1200hrs which, with the lack of extra facilities can be a pain. In summary this is an excellent hotel and one we would return to, the restaurant is of the highest standard and the beach is superb. We would definitely recommend it and we would definitely return.

Just returned from a week's holiday at Ferrera Beach Apartments.

ROOM = We paid an additional 20Euros on arrival per night (Totalling 140) to upgrade to a superior apartment. We did not see a standard room however we knew from reading reviews that it was worth the additional. It costs 120Euros for a week to have air conditioning and a safety deposit box which are included in the superior room so was well worth paying an extra 20 for a nicer room.

FACILITIES = Being apartments as apposed to a hotel the complex is quite quiet, however it depends what type of holiday you are looking for as for myself and partner we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere at the apartments and then went out every evening for dinner and on day trips. If you want to sit in a hotel bar til midnight then this is not for you. There are plenty of hotels in the area that offer an entertainment team, themed evenings and a bar however Ferrera Beach does not. The pool is lovely with a pool bar right next to it which was a perfect spot for getting some shade at various points in the day - the weather 1st sept until 8th was glorious, not a cloud in the sky!

LOCAL AREA = The apartments are just a 2 minute walk from the beach and 5 minutes from the small town. The town is mainly just a long strip of restaurants/bars. Some are a little too English (with pictures of the food) but others were lovely. Paparrazi in particular was gorgeous food with very friendly staff. It is Euros, however not over expensive. Day trips are a good idea if you don't drive. There is an excursions office opposite paparraxi where you can book trips to various places including MarineLand which we went to with dolphin shows and had a great time. There are also boat trips from the beach which range from short trips just on the boat or alternatively trips where get dropped off in different areas for a few hours and then the boat picks you back up in the afternoon -these were great.

Probably wouldn't go back as it's a small area you can only really do it once but thoroughly enjoyed it and if you want to see some of Mallorca without being in clubby resorts such as Magaluf then Cala D'or is lovely.

we were a bit worried before we went after reading some of these reviews, but we had nothing to worry about. we were in a superior room and requested lower floor because of disability, and our request was granted. the hotel, pool and rooms are just as you see in the pictures. we went half board, and we were so pleased that we did. we had breakfast and dinner in al aqua restaurant, just next to hotel and while there was not a large selection of food, there was always something that everyone would eat, and the staff were lovely.
at breakfast drinks are included, but not at dinner. i also had a pressure massage with the masseus at the hotel and it was the best. i have ever had.
we would definately recommend this hotel.

Just returned from ferrera beach apartments, having spent a very peacefull, relaxing 2 weeks there.

Reception area is very modern and clean, as is the pool area. Sunbeds are chained up until 9:00AM, and the barman will, and does remove towels if the sunbeds are not in use.

We booked a superior apartment; very pleased with the room. Looks recently renovated, having, aircon in the main lounge, a large LCD TV (With a few english channels including Disney) a good sized fridge, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, halogen hob (2 ring) and microwave. Good wardrobes in the bedroom plus a digital safe.

Cleaning was done 6 times a week, with towels changed at the same time. Linen was changed once a week.

Cala Ferrera beach was a little crowded, however Cala Serena beach was just perfect.

Eating out was a little hit and miss. Found the Sunset, the Karin and the Merivent all to be good quality food at good prices, however we ate once along the main drag and once in the harbour area; which were a little more expensive but not quite as good.

Never ate at the hotel on site, but the prices for drinks and ice cream at the pool bar were quite reasonable. Be warned the barman doesn't like people eating and drinking their own food and drink at the pool.

We arrived in the early hours of 11th after a long day. Apartment was adequate, clean but could do with a lick of paint and TLC. However what made it great for us was that we had the tranquil garden just outside our terrace area, very quiet as children were only allowed there accompanied by adults. The pool area is lovely. The receptionist spoke good english and was really helpful as well. Thanks Eva for the relaxing head message, if you try it you won't be dissapointed, bliss. Our meals were at Al Aqua as we were H/B basis. The dinning area was lovely, clean and the staff (Yvonne, Stan and the little one behind the bar) made us feel very welcome and special as it was our 6th wedding anniversay when we were on holiday , thak you to the great kitchen staff too for the great food. Visited Carabels Pub packed every night as the owner is mad as a fish but in a funny really good way. Eden Paradise was something different with the evening show out on the open air terrace which was also packed with families every night - thanks Sasha and Helen for fun and great service. A special mention of thanks to La Hacienda with Sandra, Mel and the spanish gypsy behind the bar as well as Miguel (I did'nt catch his name sorry), we missed out on the Diva's show but we had so much fun and a very late night. We had a brilliant time and would just say that we would recommend this area because it is close enough to all the attractions of Cala D'or centre but 10 mins walk to a lovely peaceful haven ~The best of both worlds really. Best Wishes Sue and Cliff.

Just back from 1 week stay at Ferrera Beach, apartment was very basic, clean, good size. We had air conditioning which made a big difference at night. No electric kettle, so had to boil water in a pot for my son's bottles, we did ask the next day if there was any possibility that we could get a kettle, they said they would try but couldnt guarantee it, so we had to make do.

When we arrived after midnight (late by the way - due to transfer company! That's another story) the guy at reception had no record of us having a baby with us, so there was no cot in our apartment, he said there would be one there tomorrow! There was no where open for us to get any food or water, we are new to this resort and when we asked if there was anywhere nearby we were told that town was 20min away, he could get us a taxi for 5euro. We had just arrived after a long journey, our baby was sleeping. It would have been handy if there had been a vending machine for a bottle of water.

Our apartment was in block A, standard apartment. We asked for a low level or pool view. We didn't get any. We were 2 flights of stairs down with a pram from the street to our apartment and another 2 floors down with a pram to get to the jacuzzi area and another flight of stairs up to the pool! We overlooked the jacuzzi and grassy area.

The pool area is small, very modern looking, the pool itself is lovely, the only problem is getting a bed or even a chair to sit on. I read somewhere that there is 72 apartments and my partner counted 52 beds that isnt even enough for 1 for every apartment! There are signs saying that you are not allowed to reserve beds, that towels would be removed. Most days when we visited the pool area, there were always towels lying with nobody doing anything about it. Unless you get up really early you have no chance of getting a bed.

We were starting to worry about this resort, but once we found the town and all the different beaches, our opinion changed of the resort. There is such a variety of restaurants and pubs and shops. One pub we liked was the Tropical Garden, entertainment every night, for kids and adults, staff were funny. Good deals on drinks too!

The beaches are coves, there are a few different ones, worth the walk, also go to the marina and imagine owning the bigest yaght.

Overall a nice week, very relaxing and warm.
