“Love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

I've lost track of how many times we have stayed at this hotel - it must be more than 20 in the last 7-8 years and we never get fed of it; in fact we are booked to return this summer already! Several friends have also come with us at different times and they enjoyed it just as much as we do. Just love the location with its stunning view across the bay and soft sandy beach. The staff are just fantastic; always friendly, cheerful and full of fun - they make us feel so welcome from the minute the coach drops off until the time we love. The food is always good; such a selection to choose from. A bonus now is that it is adults-only and that rule is enforced so no children to disturb the peace and quiet. The rooms are functional but large, clean and well decorated/maintained so you cannot ask for more on these prices. Would recommend this hotel every time!

I travelled to Cala d'or several times over the Summer to visit a friend working there and decided to stay in this hotel upon her recommendation. This hotel is amazing!! Adult only - no-one over the age of 16 allowed. Transfer from Palma airport took around 1hr 20mins.

Reception is nice and bright with small seating area. Staff on reception are brilliant. Always friendly and very welcoming and have a good knowledge of the area. Shout out to Kenneth, Vicky & Lucie. Wifi is free in the reception & bar area and of good quality.

Hotel bar is just to the side of reception. Staff here are again brilliant and will begin to learn your order - Armando & Anderson were brilliant. You can either pay for your drinks with cash or charge them to the room. Reasonably priced & a good selection. Peanuts are served with drinks - nice touch.
Evening entertainment is a bit lacking and is only 3 times a week but Cala d'Or is a short walk away with Bars & Restaurants. If you want typical holiday entertainment you can walk over to the sister hotel and watch the hotel run entertainment here - Jungle Book, Grease etc.

Rooms are of a good size. There are only a few rooms in the hotel with double beds. Most rooms have two single beds pushed together but this is pretty normal throughout Spain. Flat screen TV with a couple of English speaking channels. Some rooms have re-furbished bathrooms, either way they're always clean. From what I understood all rooms would be done over the winter period. This hotel is kept immaculate and there is always someone cleaning something.

There are two pool areas to choose from. One within the hotel (by the restaurant & bar) and the second across the drive. This is adjacent to the beach and over looks the sea. Picturesque views and exclusive to hotel guests - also has a nice breeze. Beach bar is also here with snacks and drinks from 10am til around 6pm. Good choice of food - burgers, chips baguettes etc.

Food in the main restaurant (Breakfast and Dinner only) is amazing!! I could not fault it one bit!! There is SO much to choose from and it all tastes delicious. One night a week the hotel holds a Gala Night where there is an additional station featuring lots of fresh seafood aswell as the famous profiteroles! Mallorcan Soup was one of my favourites aswell as the salmon carbonara pasta! I could go on and on about the quality of the food! Early breakfast is available for early departure.
Once a week the hotel Manager - who is always around making sure guests are enjoying themselves - has a welcome in the reception with orange juice and cava for everyone.

This hotel is located enough out of resort to be quiet but near enough to wander in. To the centre of Cala d'Or will take you around 20 minutes walking. You can take the tourist train which stops outside the hotel for 1.50euro eacj or a taxi was around 4-5 euro. Or if you take a shortcut through the Cala Esmeralda Park (Family hotel next door) this will bring you to a street nearer to the hotel with shops, bars and restaurants - 2 minute walk.

This hotel is equipped for disabled guests with ramps to all areas. Hotel does have a Library where guests can book swap. Computers available for use. Scales to weigh cases for return flight - airlines are strict here and will charge for each KG over so I would recommend doing this.

If you want to get out and about I would recommend car hire, my friend had a car and we saw some beautiful places that are along the East Cost - Caves of Drach & Porto Cristo both worth a visit! Also did the Island tour with Thomas Cook on the Orange Blossom Express, would recommend this - long day but great way of seeing the West side of the Island.

Overall I cannot rate this hotel enough. I would return again and again. The staff are all a credit and you can tell they love their jobs. Love love love this place!!

Room Tip: Request a sea view.

Evenif we stayed at Cala Esmeralda during the most crowded season of the year, we had a wonderful time and could very much enjoy our stay. Food was great, we had a wonderful foom that had a huge balcony! (as we were at the very top of the building). We took so many memorable pictures, and we definitely recommand this place.

Room Tip: the room at the last floor and at the end of the corridor has a huge balcony (2x bigger than others...

This hotel and resort are a gem, aqua blue waters, white sandy beach and a rugged coast line which makes it romantic.
Even though it was the end of the season, the hotel & staff could not have been more accommodating, food was excellent a great choice every evening, staff extremely friendly & helpful.
Cal'dor was a short 10 min walk with plenty of bars & restaurants serving traditional tapas.
For a quiet relaxing break, I would highly recommend this hotel
Adults only as well

Room Tip: Try and upgrade to a sea view - its well worth it, especially for a special occasion

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel.Every thing is perfect, food is second to none.Never seen maids clean as well ,everyday they clean round pool even washing sun beds down even the underside & they clean all outside lights,so if the outside is spotless you can imagine what the rooms, dining areas etc are like.Staff go the extra mile to help.Well done hope to return in 2014 .Mr&Mrs D Derby
