“family october holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

my second visit to esmeralda park , last year i had a very last min booking through thomson and took my 3 children for a few days and this year we went as a family for 2 weeks from 14th -28th october . we were blessed with fantastic weather . we booked half board and werent disappointed , we didnt eat out in the end as each night we were offered something different in the hotel and it was great quality , the drinks are very reasonable too . the children enjoyed the nightly entertainment and the staff were all very efficient . my only criticism would be the hotel rooms do need updating , my wardrobes were a bit smelly and on arrival had been sprayed heavily with air freshner which was unpleasant ,and the kitchen and bathroom need renovating to bring them up to date . i wouldnt want to cook in the very small kitchenette and the fridge had seen better days . But the the hotel and pools and the location with the beautiful bay and if you are lucky to have a sea view like i did the cost of the hotel is good value . i had a special offer due to out of season and we ate for 5 for only paying for the adults, we saved a fortune on eating out . and the snack bay overlooking the beach does great lunchtime food .
I would return but only out of season as the hotel gets very busy even out of season and the bay is very small .

Room Tip: ask for a sea view room , if you have pushchairs etc ,note there is no lift , but only 3 storeys hig...

Stumbled upon this resort and very impressed considering it is billed as 3 Star. Staff are friendly, kids club is fantastic, pools are clean and the food is great, fresh and plentiful. We stayed on the last week of the season so it wasn't as busy, but still nice family atmosphere. The Kitchenette is basic, only an electric hob, but this is 3 star.

We were offered a room in Block H which faces the road and can be noisy, but asked for another and got a slightly bigger room in Block M which was fine. The balconys are small and there aren't any sun loungers, just wicker chairs, but there is an outside light which doesn't get switched off by the hotel, like others we have stayed in.

There is a little private beach attached to the hotel, which is great and has free sun loungers (no brollys so no shade when really hot) but sandy and shallow water great for little ones...

It is fair to say that a lot of the rooms are on levels 1-3 and not particularly accessible with prams or for people with mobililty issues, but all in all we had a great week, although I can imagine that this does get very busy at the height of the season.

Stayed here with our 10 month old twins and to say the stay was made difficult was an understatement. We were given a ground floor apartment but it had 2 flights of stairs to get to it so lifting a double buggy each time was very hard and it meant I could never to back to the apartment without another adult. We were left to struggle with 3 cases, 2 babies, a buggy and 2 bags and the receptionist laughed when I asked for a porter or someone to help. They also left 2 elderly people both with a heart condition to carry their own cases up a hill and over the road to their sister hotel. The apartments are very small cleaned regularly but we had mold around the bath and sinks. The facilities are rubbish we didn't even have an electric kettle or a microwave despite it being self catering. The saucepan and toaster broke on us, and the fridge made everything frozen. All entertained for children is for over 4's so nothing for younger children and everything started at 9.15pm so too late for our little ones. Good location but I would not spend my money here again.

Stayed at Cala Azul Gardens last year but used the facilities at Esmerelda Park. Stayed this time at Esmerelda Park and it was as good as, if not better than last year. Will be back again next year.the service was excellent. Several reviewers have complained about the lack of a kettle but we have had one on both our visits. Fill it with water, stick it on the hob and off you go. Still remaions the best holiday complex I have ever stayed at by far.

Had a great stay at this hotel in September 2012. Great breakfast buffet, lovely small beach in front of the hotel, lots of pools and overall very helpful staff were the best aspects of the hotel. Slightly stale smell in the room on arrival and a bit worn down interior were the less good aspects but this is OK considering price level. Another bad thing was that the coffee for breakfast was not freshly brewed, it was machine made powder based coffee. Cala d'or is very tastefully developed with restrictive measures being implemented on house design which creates a much more traditional, coherent and beautiful setting than many other messy Mallorca beach towns. If going with small kids Esmeralda park is the best place in the best town.

Fourth visit to this aparthotel group. Previously stayed Cala Azul and Cala Azul Gardens all part of same complex. Friendly staff, clean comfy rooms with all you need - although the beds are a bit on the hard side but some people like that. Excellent food in restaurants with plenty of choice. The complex is set overlooking the coves at Cala Esmerelda and Cala Azul with plenty of swimming pools, sun loungers and pool bars which also overlook the sea. Very relaxing, but conveniently placed for shops, buses and other bars and restaurants. The blocks of rooms are three floors high, there are no lifts except in the Esmerelda restaurant, and quite a few steps around the complex which might not suit people with mobility problems. The evening entertainment wasn't great - bit dated with same entertainment team singing to backing tapes on the two nights we saw it, but the children were very happy with the entertainment put on for them. Our other problem on this visit was the number of screaming young children in the restaurants this time - quite a few other guests noticed this and mentioned it to us. There are two restaurants-would it be a good idea to have separate dining rooms for families with children and for adults only? We will definately go back again though

Pretty view, good pools, but the rooms were a bit too damp and the beds were hard as rock. The staff was good, and for a resort, it was a decent hotel. I didn't like that the humidity seeped through the walls, and kept everything damp - clothes included. The A/C was a bit hard to work. At night it got too cold with it running, and if you turned it off, it got too hot in no time.

Best part about the room, was the tiny kitchenette and a huge balcony with access both from living room and bedroom. If I were to stay at a resort again in Mallorca, I'd go with Inturotel for sure. They keep the rooms really clean, and the staff is amazing.

For food, get your breakfast at the hotel, but seek out dinners and lunch elsewhere. Papparazzi just down the street is a good spot for a really good meal.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view have more sun and a good view 24/7 - but are a bit noisier.
