Dates of holiday 1st May to the 11th May, We are a family of 4, Myself male 48, Wife 48 and my twin 17 year old daughters who are all seasoned people that go all inclusive to Spain.

The reveiw that I have written is a true reflection on my families stay at the hotel Corfu.

Booking in.

Firstly the week before leaving I had contacted the Hotel Management to ask if possible could the two rooms that we had booked be situated on a low level with pool veiws due to the fact that I am not the best with heights. I received a quick response from a Lady by the name of Daniella Burley from the reservation team. On our arrival my family were met by a very pleasant team that made our booking in process effortless. We were given two rooms on floor two which is actually the level of reception as the hotel is built on the side of a cove.

The two rooms (221 & 220) were of a good decor and very clean with twin beds, a bed sofa, side desk with a tv, Bathroom a good size with a shower over the bath (no issues at any time with hot water or pressure) and there was also a hair dryer. When I opened the balcony doors I was met with a stunning veiw of not only the pool area but also of the beach and cove. Thank You Daniella.

Hotel and complex.

On the ground floor there is the resteraunt, bar and a terrace area with ample tables and chairs also on this level there is a pool and a very pleasant pathway that goes along the top of the cove with some stunning veiws of the beautiful clear sea. there are steps from here going down to the main beach and pool area where there is also the main bar and snacks area and outdoor nightime entertainment stage area although this area didn't open until Sat 11th until then the entertainment was held in the sister hotel skorpios which shares the cove, this wasn't an issue as it was a pleasant walk where you could take the family snaps with the sea and cove as a background. Only down side to this was that it would be rather difficult for people with prams, walking difficulties or using a wheelchair due to steps.

On arrival at the resteraunt you are met by the resteraunt staff all with a genuine smile. The resteraunt food is laid out to a good standard but what sets this experience apart from a lot of all inclusive is that the variety is of a very high standard and couldn't believe the amount of varience and would be amazed by any negative feedbacks. There is also a chef to cook in front of you each night including roast beef and yorkshire on one night which made the wife happy. there was meat dishes, fish including mussels & shrimps, soups, a very good selection of salad and cold meats. I could go on and on but be here all day.

Snacks (main pool bar).

This is quite simply the best snack bar we have ever come across in any all inclusive. Fresh baguets whith variety off fillings, tuna salad, chicken or ham and cheese. Also hamburgers, chicken burgers, hot dogs, pizza, chips and my favourite bbq chicken wings all cooked in front of you.

Yes all plastic beakers. Standard & variety excellent all local such as Beer, house wine red & white, barcardi, whisky gin, snapps, baileys, vodka, tia maria and the usual soft drinks coke, fanta, slushes this is only the selection that my family drank but there is a larger variety. Also you can pay some supplement for international drink such as breezers, strongbow etc. The only downside to this was the drink was to good for me, Too many hangovers.

Day time activity is the norm archery, shooting, darts etc but the entertainment team are once again very proffesional and don't persist if you do not want to take part. Nightime entertainment This unfortunately wasn't to our taste and not of a good standard of performers. Having once had young children the hotel entertainment team were good especially with the childrens daytime and evening programme which brought good memories.

Can't praise their standards and freindliness enough. from management, resteraunt staff, bar staff, cleaners and even maintenance teams. I have never met a collective team always with smiles and general banter.

Although states Cal d'or the hotel is actually in Cala egos. Cala egos consists of a couple of bars, shops and resteraunts. There is a eroski supermarket if you want to top up with late night snacks as the snack bar finishes at 6pm at the hotel. The resort is really quiet with a little market from 5pm until 11pm on a Thursday. Cala d'or is about 2km away which can be reached by a resort train at a cost of 2 euro's each way, taxi 5 euro's each way or even a very pleasant 30 minute walk which takes you down to the marina first. Cala d'or is a lot bigger with a lot going on and quite a nice resort full of shops, bars and so on. it also boasts a beautiful main beach (cala gran) that also as scenic veiws.

Although not a lot happening around cala egos I feel that the hotel itself more than compensate for lack of surrounding area as the hotel & cove is beautiful.

The nightime entertainment, I am a smoker and although i enjoy sitting outside on holiday as the weather allows the reason the hotel appealed to me as my searching for information on the hotel stated that the evening entertainment was held at the main pool area during the nights which would of given me the opportunity to sit outdoors and not miss out with the entertainment.
As this area had still not opened my Wife and Daughters at times couldn't enter the entertainment area as both the hotel Skorpios and Corfu shared the one function area and even though we got there early still couldn't get seats and this was the same for about 30% of holiday makers.

I understand that the hotel as to take into account the number of holiday makers between the two hotels and what facilities they require but i feel that this was the one area that should of been momitored more efficient and the main entertainment area opened earlier which would give a few more benefits in the way that all holiday makers could get seats also it would give those parents with young children the opportunity to watch from their balconies while the children sleep. As i say this is my only moan and having said that I will be going back to this hotel but probably a little later on when the main stage outdoor area opens then I would have the perfect holiday.

Congratulations to All at the hotel marina/Skorpios and a big thank you.

Room Tip: The only tip I could give is to take into account the amount of steps between both hotels if you hav...

Arrived at the Marina Corfu on the 4th May with my husband. We had previously contacted the hotel to ask for a high floor and a room with a sea/pool view but had had no response. When we got to our room we were on the 6th floor (there are only 6 floors) and had a beautiful view, although the reception did inform us that later on in the season you would expect to pay for such a view. The hotel is very clean and all of the staff are extremely friendly from the reception to the dining room. The girls in the dining room did an amazing job keeping the tables clean and free from pots and the kitchen staff always ensured fresh food was to hand. Although the food was not cordon bleu, it was substantial and you always had plenty to choose from. In the evening there was a specialist station at the top of the dining room. On Thursday evening we had about 4-5 different kinds of meat, mussels and there were prawns a plenty. On another evening there was a beautiful paella and another night there was beef and Yorkshire pudding. The puddings were delicious. The salad bar was a little disappointing but everything else was really good. They always had a lovely cheese board with 2 cheese choices, crackers, sultanas, dates, dried apricots and walnuts, delicious. The desserts were also very good with lots of choice and there was ice cream too. There was beer, red and white wine which wasn't half bad and soft drinks with tea and coffee machines. The breakfasts were very good too with bacon, sausage, eggs (fried, scrambled and boiled) hash browns, mushrooms, potatoes and beans. There was also the usual continental items. The bread was lovely and fresh with lots of different choices. There was white and brown bread, 3 different kinds of rolls and 2 sweet rolls. There was also cakes and biscuits. You will not go hungry and if you don't like the food then you are very hard to please.

The swimming pool was cleaned each morning as was the beach. You have to pay for sun beds on the beach so we kept to the swimming pool and just walked down to the beach. The water was beautiful and clear but very cold this time of the year. There is a boat that comes into the bay each day to take you to different coves etc. The pool bar served snacks which were adequate. A couple of days we went into the dining room for lunch which was nice as you get to drink wine from a proper glass.

A couple of niggles would be the plastic glasses that the drinks are served in. Yes around the pool I can understand but in the evening around the lounge bar it would have been nice to be served in a proper glass. I understand that it saves on washing up but it is not pleasant drinking from these plastic glasses. Also in the brochure it says that there is free wifi. This is not the case, I had to pay €15 for the week and the signal was not too hot in the bedroom but a bit better downstairs.

Apart from these 2 giggles we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

There is also a very good bus service from round the corner on the main road which will take you to most places in Majorca.

Room Tip: The sea/pool view rooms have the sun in the evening. The rooms at the back get the sun in the mornin...

Hello! We have just returned from our second trip to the Marina Corfu Hotel in Cala Egos.... it was just as good as last may! Love it. Five of us went this year, four adults and one 16 year old. Lots of people whinged about the food whilst we were there, but I can honestly say, its a HUGE improvement on last year!!! Still not 100% but massively better than 2012. My best friend is a vegetarian who is also a bit of a holiday snob (sorry Lis!! But this holiday was not the Maldives, Barbados or Bermuda!! ;-D) and she said that the veggie options at the Corfu were above standard by far in comparison to even the super expensive resorts elsewhere! Breakfast is amazing, lunch.... poor (usually the night befores left overs revamped in disguise!!) Dinner.... hit or miss depending on preference! They did two nights with roasted meat... one pork and one beef with Yorkshire puds on steroids!!!! Shame this wasn't an option nightly, it was so succulent and flavourful! BUT there was something for everyone at every meal and to be honest, I got sick of hearing the English complain all the time! For an average of £300 per person... what do you expect? Caviar and gold leaf???! Beds... very hard and lots of people found them very uncomfortable. Plastic cups, annoying but a drink is a drink! Drunken scuffles on the landing in the early hours... x 2 in one week (English yobs coming hoe from Sparkles Bar up the road) Cleanliness..... Amazing, even for an OCD individual! Staff.... curtious, grafters and very polite. Rooms..... basic but again, more than adequate. Air con.... some rooms had it, some didn't, but in the height of the season, I'm sure all will. Child friendly... totally! Kids club was always busy with a range of activities for all ages. Entertainment..... not my thing so can't really comment! We make our own entertainment. Booze... unless you upgrade and get the gold wristband, its local beer and spirits but we personally didn't think £80 PHP was worth the brands and found the locally plonk more than acceptable although I will state that we had a couple of dodgy pints at local bars outside the hotel who's beer lines were clearly.... filthy! Loo roll to the ready if you drink the beer outside the hotel. Excursions... only did one and that was to the super dooper water park in Palma, brilliant and worth the trip! Word of advice... TAKE YOUR DRIVING LICENCE IF PREPARED TO HIRE A CAR AND DRIVE IN SPAIN.... car hire and fuel are soooooooo much cheaper than the "all in" trips! Approx £15 fuel for a 2.5hr round trip drive and just 35euros for the hire of a wonderful Fiat Panda/Punto! :-) Lol! Sunbeds.... usual stuff.... lots of "hoggers", "whingers" and "dirty looks" for stealing someone else's regular spot.... but who cares! You're on holiday!!! They do charge 5 euros to hire one on the beach but its a lot quieter (as people refuse to pay) and it saves any issues of "tutting" for taking another's place!! TAKE TOWELS FROM HOME!!!! The hotel does not provide them for pool/beach use and the local shops are super expensive and prey on the fact that tourists are not told this when booking. TAKE UK ADAPTERS FOR ELECTRICALS.... Again, expensive to buy. Wifi.... is NOT FREE, 14 euros for a week with one individual code that can only be used for one device but I was told that different people were charged different prices for wifi, so be warned! I think that's about it... all areas covered! I will end with saying I will be going back to Marina Corfu if the price is right again! I just hope these good reviews don't make them greedy and put the prices up! You get what you pay for.... cheap week but lots of wonderful memories, great company and a wonderful little jewel in the crown! Hope this essay was of help to those undecided folks.... go for it! ;-D. Xxx

Room Tip: The higher up... the better the view. Request a pool view when booking and get it in writing! Floor...

Me stayed here all inclusive at the start of May. Although this is a 3 star, the rooms are really nice. We got a nice big family room with a massive balcony. The bathroom was nice although the fittings were a bit green limescale but it was clean with plenty of room. Unlike other hotels, the bed was comfy. We got a cot which was a bit rickety but safe and did the job. On the minus side the TV had no English channels and no volume control which isn't great if you are hiding from the mid day heat or sitting in cause your baby is sleeping. Also NO KETTLE even though we were assured there was one- we had to pay to rent one and as it turned out it was cheaper to buy one in a shop down the street.
The food wasnt great for example the pealla had those cheap fake sea food sticks in it! We've gone AI at a few other 3 star spanish hotels and had a lovely experience but we had a bit of a problem with this. Sometimes it was hard to find something that was gluten free or that our baby would eat. The kids food was TERRIBLE. The salad bar wasnt great.
I loved their beer, wine and sangria. Cocktails were quite good too. The pool bar was good for wee snacks. All the staff were great.
Beach is small but beautiful and just down from the main pool. We found the main out door area didn't get a lot of sun in the morning and there was a terrible scramble to get a sun lounger in a half decent place. Over all a nice hotel. Lovely area. The market on a Thursday evening is good and the wee Train is great for getting about.

Hotel very clean, outside areas cleaned including the beach and pools cleaned daily.
Rooms basic but clean (firm beds not popular with everyone)
We were supposed to be in the Marina Skorpios in the other side of the small bay, but after being the first drop off we found we had been put in the sister hotel the Marina Corfu, since there don't appear to be reps anymore we ended up walking round to the other hotel with the cases at 11 o,clock at night. This does not put you off on a good footing. But after a couple of days, I found that the Corfu gets the afternoon sun and the atmosphere seemed better. The Skorpios has the entertainment indoors at the start of the season. So if you want to avail yourself of their facilities you have to go down 28 steps to a concrete path across the small beach and up 25 steps the far side. This is testing for people with mobility problems. Wheelchair access to the pool and the beach is not easy.
Food is of a reasonable standard and there is usually something there for everyone's taste. Of course it gets a bit repetitive but that would be true of most all inclusive hotels in Spain. My view is that it's a good base to work from and if you want that special meal venture away fro the complex.
Drinks, tea and coffee available from 7am - midnight if you take it away from where it is served it has to be in plastic fruit juice tumblers. Alcohol as per usual it's local brands which most people were happy with, but I personally found the whiskey like nail polish remover (not that I have drunk that but it reminded me of it :) .....) you can however buy branded drinks like Bells whiskey for 2.5 euros a go (why this has to be so expensive is a mystery). The cocktails do not resemble there namesake from anywhere else I have bought them. All alcohol served in plastic tumblers whether inside or out.
Staff were friendly and pleasant but one person in the bar who started quite upbeat at the start of the holiday became a sour faced misery after a couple of days (he was the exception to the rule).
The pool bar is open from 10am - midnight apart from early season when it closes at 6pm. It's serves toasties, hamburgers, hotdogs, rolls, sandwiches and beers, wine, spirits, tea and coffee
Sun beds the hotel stipulates no reserving sun beds but there they all were early in the morning straight out towels on sun beds ready to use the for the day. The hotel stacks the beds every night for cleaning purposes. As people were not adhering to the rules they chained the sunbeds up til 9 am. This was very amusing as there was a line of people on chairs from the bar area sitting on them in the space they wanted to reserve, waiting for the sunbeds to be unlocked.
Activities and entertainment. I don't have young children but speaking to others the animacion team is very good. There is archery and shooting most days. Then while you are gently basting yourself in the sun, the motivating team come round for water polo.
Hidden extras...... Kettle for the room 15 euros, Wi Fi 15 euros, sunbeds on the beach 5 euros.
Things out of the hotels control loud mouthed families swearing with no consideration for others (few and far between while we were there).
Very good all round family hotel........
