Within moments of arriving at the Bonaire (after a rather arduous journey involving a 2am start and a 14-month old) I felt very relaxed. This is a lovely place to stay. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and we were really pleased with the space we had, the baby’s high chair and cot were all set up ready for us and it was all very welcoming.

The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful at all times. The kids’ entertainment team is very enthusiastic and there is plenty going on if you want to get involved i.e. a daily quiz, snooker and water polo etc but, if that’s not for you, there is a lovely pool to sit beside and just chill.

One small niggle we had is that we didn’t have an oven or a grill in the apartment and, as we’d booked self-catering, it meant we were really limited in what we could cook for ourselves. However, that was a good excuse to eat out!

The Kashmir Indian along the front has a lovely two-courses for 12e. On our last two nights we ate in the hotel’s buffet-style restaurant and the food was of a very high standard. As a vegetarian, I’ve been disappointed in the past with some hotels’ range of dishes but this wasn’t the case at the Bonaire. There was plenty of fish dishes, veg and salads to choose from.

If you want to venture further afield, then Cala Millor is within walking distance along the seafront and has a good range of shops and restaurants. It’s also well worth catching the glass bottom boat down to Porto Christo too, this is a very pretty little town and their Drach caves are stunning.

Booked last minute break at end of September, was not disappointed with this aparthotel, lovely clean hotel the rooms were excellent and spacious, we self catered as we don't like being kept to set times, (although you only have a two ring hob no oven) and within a short walking distance of Cala Bona/Cala Millor. We hired a car from the outskirts of the airport, which was a bit of palavour but we was able to have a good look around the island without it costing ridiculous amounts of money as charged by the holiday companies. Recommend the Saturday market in Cala raja. Also Cala D'or and Alcudia were really lovely. I would definitely return to Majorca we had a great week and the weather was superb.

This is a fantastic family hotel, cannot fault anything. The hotel is spotless, rooms lovely and modern. The pool and splash park are lovely, there is also a sports court. Cala bona is a gorgeous resort. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Went to the Bonaire for October half term ( 26th Oct to 2nd November 2014 ) as a family of 3. We have usually booked independent holidays for the last few years but wanted to try a package again as our son is of an age now when he needs other kids to play with instead of just us. The Bonaire was perfect for this, our son loved making friends & playing with them both in the pirate ship splash pool & in the big pool. It was lovely to relax & see him playing so happily & safely. The water was very cold in the pools, much colder than the seawater which was very warm but the kids didn't seem to mind. As to the apartment we were very pleased at how clean & modern it was, there was a lack of worktop space though when preparing breakfasts as we were self catering but we managed. All the cleaners & staff were very friendly & pleasant when they saw you & there were even English girls working on reception as well as loads of reps. We only ate breakfast in the hotel once which was excellent, an amazing choice of every breakfast food you could think of, our son loved the pancakes the lady made, it cost 13 Euros per adult & half price for kids. We were in block 4 overlooking the main pool, it could be a bit noisy with the entertainment but a beautiful view. Cala Bona was a nice little resort & we went to the larger Cala Millor a few times too, even twice on a family bike, great fun as we had fabulous weather but we wouldn't go at the end of Oct again as both resorts were shutting down for the winter. The choice of restaurants got less & less each day, you couldn't revisit a favourite as it would be shut !! Plus the evening entertainment at the hotel was dire, you could tell it was the last week. However we had a great time & would go again, just earlier in the season.

Beautiful rooms very well furnished. Unfortunately the reps always shouted into the microphone and the evening entertainment was so loud it reverberated around the pool area. Avoid block 3 particularly the apartments with a pool view as there is a speaker directed right at you from the pool bar....and another one on the wall of block 3 facing out to the pool area so noise from all directions. The resort was shutting down as it was end of season but it didn't matter to us.
Excellent reception staff, couldn't have been more helpful.
