“What a gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

Just returned from a fantastic week staying in the Hotel Stil Bonsai. Public areas were kept spotless. Rooms were spacious and clean. There was always a good choice in the restaurant. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend this hotel to couples or even single travellers.
Will certainly be returning in the not to distant future.

Pleasant and enjoyable stay in May 2011 - weather stayed fine and made use of nice beach across road. As other reviews rooms good, staff friendly especially chap running his own bar in hotel, pool freezing, food not enough choice - eat out better and have drink on return! Good, cheap holiday and would call in again,

Room Tip: Stay in front of hotel!

stayed here with my husband in first week of may 2011.brilliant bargain at £100 each for a weeks half board in a really decent hotel.
rooms were large and pleasant with comfy beds, air con, nice bathroom (with bath) and good tv with a couple of english channels.balcony was very small and didnt give much of a view, just hotels opposite and slight peep of the sea!we were sea facing which was the quieter side-the other side is closer to the road and rather loud hotel.
the bonsai can be quite noisy at night due to coaches and the nearby taxi rank, also people making their way home after a night out.not badly noisy, but enough to wake you up with the balcony door open. shut the door and with aircon, no problems.
lovely sun terrace and really nice indoor pool with mini gym, sauna and jacuzzi.
food very nicely cooked but dinner very limited, we did eat out twice in 7 days as there was nothing we really wanted on the menu.
all staff without exception very friendly and pleasant.
this hotel has a very loyal and regular cliental, people come back year after year and i can understand why. mostly over 50's.must admit, it did feel a little bit "clicky" when we stayed which was the very first week of the season, which is a popular i time for repeat guests to come back.
felt slightly an outsider in the small dining room a couple of times when i reaslised most of the staff and guests all knew each other!! they were all nice and friendly though but a bit TOO intimate for me...
there is now internet access from a pay as you goo computer in the lobby- 1e for ten minutes, quite handy.
best part of this holiday for me was the beach and nature reserve- absolutely breathtaking scenery and crystal blue water. spent much time walking around that area
beach is a 2 minute walk from hotel.
would recommend this hotel for a cheap peacefull chill out by a beautiful beach

Room Tip: choose a sea-facing room.preferably top-closest to the beach side

Small freindly hotel located a 2 minute walk from the beach. We stayed at peak time Aug 2011 on half board basis good value for money. Breakfast buffet style continental or full English, not the best I've ever eaten but OK. Evening meal again buffet style with coice of 2-3 hot meals & salad with choice of cold deserts. Small friendly bar which serves snack tpe meals at lunchtime. All staff very helpful hotel clean & tidy,Bedrooms a little tired & beds a little basic & not very comfy. Indoor pool only is a negative but overall good value for money would I stay again? Yes, but this place really does needs better beds.

We went to the Bonsai in June this year - 2011 - for a week and were delighted with the place. We arrived late due to unbelievable long time setting off on coach from airport and then another 3 hours to do the drop offs, with this hotel being the last. We eventually arrived at around 11pm instead of the advertised 9pm but were given a snack when we got there. Unfortunately, this didn't fill the needs of two verty hungry travellers so we went in search of more and found it just down the road, past the motorbike shop.
Our room was at the front overlooking the road and the only noise we had was from the bars across the road, but this stopped before midnight and so we got a really good nights sleep every night.
The food was good, not excellent, but what you would expect from this style of hotel, and if you went hungry, then it was your own fault.
The rooms were cleaned daily, and beds changed regularly.
The sun terrace is great for catching those last rays after the beach.
The only comment we did have was that the indoor pool was uncomfortably cold, but as the sea was warmer and only across the road, it really didn't matter.
We enjoyed the stay and would definitely return to this hotel.

This is a great little hotel, every need is met here, it's not 5 star but doesn't come with a 5 star price tag.
The hotel rooms were small but spotlessly clean; plenty of wardrobe space & the air con was working efficiently.
I wouldn't recommend this to families with children as there was not much in the way of entertainment. Personally, that was great for me & my partner.
The food at the hotel was fine; some meals were better than others but it was always hot & there was a variety to choose from. The Don Juan (bar attached to the hotel) served fab sangria & it seemed cheaper & nicer than any others in the local area.
The indoor pool was freezing but if u don't mind the sand the beach is really close & this didn't detract from the overall holiday experience. The hotel is located in the quieter side of Can Picafort but had a bus stop nearby which allowed you to visit other nearby places e.g. Alicante & Porto Pollenca (amongst others).
We enjoyed our holiday & would consider staying here again in the distant future.
