“Great few days”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

I came here with with my partner. We got back last night, spend 3 nights four days. Before we came we did read the reviews and some are shocking - however we have got some good things to say. You must see it for your self to judge it. Depends what your expectations are.
We were welcomed by the hotel manager, lovely guy! Who did tell us at when we arrived that the room does not get cleaned while we are there (only 3 days so not too bad.) the staff very friendly and if u needed anything - extra towels, pillows, sheets they would accommodate you. We did go all inclusive - however we only used it for drinks during the day. We were not impressed by the food - only because it wasn't what we enjoyed eating. We took extra cash for eating out - which is what we wanted anyway - I recommend that u see what food is on offer first as the hotel does offer you to upgrade to all inclusive when u are there. However this comes in handy for the drinks during day or evening to save you some money. The room was clean - very dated decor - but this did not bother us. We just wanted a bed and a working shower - which is what we got. If you do get a room where something is not right - please tell the hotel manager who will look at it for you and probably change your room if necessary - we did not see any ants - I did see some at the pool. And these are minuscule. Overall no probs, staff very friendly, food not great to us - but you must judge this for yourself! Drinks great and generous, rooms very clean, if you need anything extra the hotel manager will accommodate you!! Enjoyed our stay there!!

At 2.5 hours the transfer to Cala Ratjada was longer than the flight from Gatwick.
We had chosen an all inclusive deal, sadly without first looking on trip adviser.
The whole hotel is shabby with light bulbs on bare wires sticking out of the walls and a lamentable paint job. Neither the indoor pool nor the gym are in service and the whole place is overrun with ants.
In the week we were there our room was cleaned only once.
The worst feature of the stay was the food. It has been described as canteen style but I have never eaten in a canteen this bad.
Some of our countrymen seemed to find the place ok, but if you prefer not to see life through a cheap alcoholic haze - stay somewhere else.

Alot of people complain...you cant please everyone!!
But we wanted a cheap, all inc. 10night break holiday. Close to beaches, in a quiet area, suited to couples. 25th sept-5th oct. And that is exactly what we recieved.
Unfortunately the transfer bus took us 2hrs, meaning we didnt arrive to the hotel until 2am...but from research before we left, we knew that it would take 1hr 1/2 any way!!
We were greeted by Ralph, the night receptionist!! A TOP GUY!! He offered us a drink & some sandwiches when we arrived. And was FANTASTIC to us & others we met throughout the whole holiday...a very helpful guy!!
Alot of people have been moaning at the food, my partner & I ate at every meal, there is always something to choose from!!
Breakfast - toast, scrambled egg, fried eggs, german sausages, ham, cheese, croissants, cereal, fruit & more...
Lunch - fish, salads, pasta, fruit, bread rolls, spaghetti, meat & more
Dinner - meat / fish, pastas, veg, spanish omlette (which is GORGEOUS!), bread rolls, soup, cakes, mouse (looks horrible but tastes quite nice!), fruit & more.

So there is a selection, always something!! The meat was PERFECT every night, very succulant!! All food was edible!! Despite what it looked like! The chocolate moose didnt look too appealing, but actually tasted quite NICE!!

It is a German resort...it tells you so on ALL the reports. So we cant moan about that!
The street the hotel is situated on has a number of shops, & restaurants.
Turning left out the hotel takes you to cala aguilla beach, small, with bar/cafe.
Turning right out the hotel takes you to another couple of beaches: 1 very small cove & another bigger beach (cant remember name!) but this was the best beach!! Each took 10-15min slow walk!!

Bar staff very friendly!! Ralph was FAB, Patricia the bar/waitress was LOVELY & all willing to help!!!
The cleaners were always friendly, polite and happy, we had a cleaner 3times a week, beds changed, clean towels, floors swept. For the two of us, our apartment was quite big!! A bathroom, kitchen, bedroom with balcony & a living room with balcony. Room 215. Yes, SOME ants, but a quick spray of insect repellant sold that problem for the rest of the hol!!!

Someone within the front of the hotel began to play music VERY loud, too loud, & within minutes the manager put a stop to it...we were quite impressed!! As normally you would have endure the pain of listening to someone elses crap music!

Gym is old, indoor pool is unused, outdoor pool is ok...not great.
But all in all, for what we paid, we honestly couldnt moan about our holiday at all!! We were Worried after reading such negative reviews, but DONT LISTEN TO NEGATIVITY!!! & on top if it all, we met some cracking people, & made good friends!!!

A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY!!! :)

Stayed at this hotel for a week on all inclusive early october. Was expecting to find hundres of ants didnt find any. Food eatable always chips. Would have liked more chairs at front of hotel as not enough only 4 tables and a party of german women hogged one of these all day and night evan went for meals in shifts back of hotel not very nice no atmosphere. We did expect beach to be across the road it wasnt was about 10-15 mins away that meant that you had to buy drinks on beach (only 2euros) but this could add up if you were a large family. Beds only made once in the seven days we were there and by this i mean noone came into the room asked at reception for room to be cleaned and was told we are not cleaners. Excelent weather very hot

Room Tip: we were on third floor at the front had good nights sleep very night no noise

Although the hotel was bad we did have the best holiday. So start with the positives. The town was great. Good to have a wonder around. Beautiful coastline, loads of bars and restaurants to choose from, lots where you can sit out over the sea. There are two lovey beaches within walking distance. We went for 5 days (with a baby) And were happy just staying in the town but we did get a local bus to a neat by town with a castle one day.
The bad side was the hotel. We were in a separate block away from the main hotel. Which had no outside lighting in the dark. Our room was supposed to be a double but we had a twin. The hotel did arrange a cot for the baby so that was good.
On the serface the room didn't seem that bad. Until I woke up in the night and saw a plague of ants covering everything. Table sofa walls. It was gross. We had to try and clear them up with baby wipes! In the morning spoke to hotel. Who didn't seem surprised and offered to spray our room. But it didn't make much difference. So we put up with them.
We paid for half board. Breakfast and dinner. Possibly the worst food ever , so we ate out.
Indoor pool out of action. And sun terrace pool area pretty shabby.
On the whole if want a hotel just as a base it's okay. But if ur looking for all inclusive deals. Don't go here.

This is the worst hotel I've EVER stayed at. We were AI and the only meal we had in the hotel was breakfast, and that wasn't very good, everything was luke warm to cold. The restaurant (and I use that word loosely) is clean and that’s all you can say about it. The food was disgusting, the majority of English people that were staying there whilst we were there ate out. Even though we were AI if you wanted a cup of coffee outside of the 'restaurant’ you had to have it in a plastic glass, unless you paid another 1e 60c then you could have it in a cup. Complaining about anything fell on deaf ears - they just said' nobody else has complained' and walked away. There were ants coming out of the drinks machines, ants in the bedrooms. We kept asking for clean towels and it took 3 days to get them. The bedding was changed only after we kept on at the receptionist, their policy is to change bedding only ONCE a week. The room was never swept there was sand everywhere. The indoor pool had algae floating on top of the water, most of the equipment in the gym was broken. The transfer time was longer than the flight.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel. These rooms have ants in.

We managed to get a great deal where the two of us stayed in a 1 bed apartment in the Hotel for 8 nights on an all inclusive basis for about £19 per person per night....amazing value. The Hotel is located on a main road within the town about 5 minutes walk from the Harbour. The two main beaches, one of which is just exceptional (Cala Agulla) were about 12 - 15 minutes walk. It's quite central and not bad at all with free parking outside (we had a car) The Hotel has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around it. Noise wasn't a problem despite this. The German night receptionist previously mentioned in other reviews was excellent and the other staff generally were pretty good, despite having a tough time with some of the less "polite" guests...the Hotel needs a bit of TLC as do the rooms, but we had no real complaints about that. There was a gym and indoor pool advertised, but just forget that they exist TBH. There was no entertainment and very few facilities that worked, but not really a problem for us. The food was thing most people complained about and I can understand this if these people had paid much more than we did. It was cafeteria food no doubt, with very little variation, but there was usually something that was fine and we were never hungry. There were little things that could have been done - for example, there was only salt and pepper on about 1 in 4 tables ! The bar drinks were good. The pool and patio at the back gets very little sun during the day and is not a particularly attractive place to sit out for any length of time, particularly during the evening. It was nice to sit our at the front of the hotel but there was only limited space to do that.Cala Ratjana is a nice resort with a couple of really good beaches close by - it's a german resort (and the Hotel is set up mainly for Germans), but that really wasn't a problem at all - we'd recommend it. Overall, if you get a good deal and use the Hotel as a base to sleep and eat and get out during the day and see what the resort and the Island has to offer, you shouldn't really complain.

Room Tip: we had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the road - no problems. I suspect that rooms at the bac...
