“Brilliant Hotel Brilliant Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

Best holiday we have had in the last few years. The family and staff couldnt do enough to help.
We had some good laughs trying to understand the staff and other guests who predominately
spoke spanish and german, but thanks to for all for their efforts in trying to understand us.
Food was varied, plentiful and good.Apartments were very clean and comfortable, with a well equiped kitchen and bathroom. Pool area was also an oasis of calm and comfort.
So a big thanks to all the staff Pilar, Maria, Nico and Miguel not forgeting the family.
Thanks for a wonderful time , hope to see you all again.
Must mention the area which has some great walks, beaches and scenery,to be enjoyed.

Our holiday was spoiled by German and Italian youngsters shouting and having no respect for the rest of the holiday makers during the night. At 11pm 12pm or 1am the lads and lasses were walking out of the hotel in droves bur not before we had to tolerate them playing their music loud or jumping up and down in the rooms shouting to each other on the landings. Then at 4.45am they would come back louder and some jumping in the pool which was right outside the Flacalco park apartments. We complained about the noise in our block but one morning a Queue formed of 20 people complaining about the noise from these louts. The staff tried their best to stop it and the night porter went around the complex shouting at the kids to stop the noise before they went out. I don’t think he was around when they came back though. Luckily I had ear plugs. Apparently we had arrived at the German equivalent of Magaluf.

We were given a one bedroom apartment for one night so we weren’t able to unpack as our suitcases would be picked up the next morning and put in our new room. The tour operator’s website didn’t explain what accommodation we were to have except a room with extra bed for child. It didn’t explain either that there are three hotel blocks in the complex and another block of apartments all sharing the two very small pools. As you enter the reception area it looks very new or refurbished and we were pleasantly surprised however the apartments where we slept the first night across the road (Flacalco Park) are very basic to say the least the TV in the apartment is all in German and it didn’t have a kettle. I sat down on the made up bed in the lounge and got covered in white bits from the sheets which were so threadbare I have better floor cloths. The rooms (Flacalco Garden) were even more basic no TV or fridge. No air conditioning or fans in either. The reception is part of Flacalco suites where the rooms have been upgraded. Another block of apartments belonging to the complex was across another road from Flacalco Park.
A fridge can be hired for 45 euros a week and a kettle too but the staff didn’t know what a kettle was?
The food wasn’t to bad breakfast was very basic and catered more for the other nationalities than English we had bacon and eggs twice in 10 days. The fruit juice was terribly sweet and the fresh fruit every morning was melon. Take your own tea bags as theirs don’t change colour. The hot chocolate is like mud.
The evening meal was made up of soup & salad. One choice of meat, fish, vegetable, potatoes (usually chips or round chips), one pasta or rice dish and two other dishes probably ham or something in breadcrumbs. Although not much choice it was well cooked.
Apart from 4 welsh people we were the only British people for the first two days and didn’t see another until about two days before leaving. The staff speak very good German but very little English. However the resort is picturesque but it is definitely catered for the Germans.
To be fair the staff are lovely and worked hard. I don’t think the waitress or the cleaning staff get a day off all through the season.

We paid £160 pp for 6 nights at Aparthotel Flacalco, and to be honest we were not expecting much for our money. On arrival it was clear that the staff did not speak great English, but knew the essentials to help if it was needed. Having said this, the staff always greatly appreciated any Spanish we tried to talk and were always very friendly and keen for a chat. Once shown to our room, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne (but I still don't know why!).
The room itself was nothing special - it had a standard 2 bed layout with desk, TV,shower, balcony - and was clean so no complaints there. The swimming pool was fairly standard and clean, but being in a Very German resort, it was almost impossible to get a sun lounger! The Swimming Pool is next to a Bar complete with a Pool table and has a great atmosphere thanks mostly to the Bar man Nico. We decided to spend our first night here and were very pleasantly surprised by the feel of the place (seated inside or out). The specialty drinks were great and Nico gave us free drinks whenever he was testing a new concoction.
The location was great for us as a young couple. The main beach is no more than a 4/5 minute walk from the hotel, there are restaurants/cafes within a minute and the night clubs are about 2/3 minutes away. This meant that we did not need any transport as everything was so close, but were just far away enough from the action to give us a decent nights sleep.
The biggest recommendation I can give British Travelers is to come here, but go either B&B or self catering. We paid for half board and were very disappointed in the evening meal. The food was awful and the restaurant staff were very unfriendly, so we dined out every other evening. Having said that, the surrounding restaurants are amazing! The food is incredibly cheap, and for some reason everything is about 30% cheaper at lunch meaning you can get a beautiful stone baked pizza for around 5 Euros.
A last point about the staff: On one of our first evenings my girlfriend was extremely homesick and we could not operate any of the pay phones anywhere. We went back to the hotel at around 2AM and were helped greatly by the Night Manager who let us use his phone and did everything he could to help us.

I will very probably be visiting Mallorca and Aparthotel Flacalco in the coming years - it was brilliant!
Hopefully this helps, feel free to ask any questions!
A few tips:
- Learn some basic Spanish before you go and you will have a great time
- Visit the harbor in the evenings for live music performances
-If you want a standard Brit package holiday where you go to pubs and speak to Brits, this isnt for you
-If you want a lively and beautiful place where you can experience Spanish (and German) culture then this is for you.

I just got back from Flacalco apts. and I really enjoyed the place. First of all the owners an employees are super nice. Since the hotel was not booked I also got an incredible up-grade. The place is much nicer than the photos online! They have a new cook and so the food is really o.k. and in great variety. The place is very clean and was quiet when I was there. Both pools are nice, the one at the main hotel, just across the small street, is Asian style and with Bougambilias all over. The gardner does a great job. The employees are always there for you. Do they even mention, they have a tennis court. The hotel is not new, but I personally like that, since I have newness all year round. the place is definitely recommendable.

We have just returned from a weeks break at the flacalco hotel in cala ratjada. We were disappointed to say the least!!!! The resort and hotel is entirely German. This is fine, however the German people in our hotel didn't stop staring at us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. This made it very uncomfortable at meal times. The buffet was minimal, unsuitable for vegetarians and any one who likes to identify their food before eating it. The tables were not cleaned during the sittings, so you had to eat at dirty tables and when the food ran out it generally wasn't replenished. The room was nothing like the pictures posted on the internet. It was so small that it only just fitted the bed and dressing table. There was no fan or air con, so we were forced to sleep on the balcony which was just big enough for the matress. I was disgusted at every thing within the first 24 hours. When i rang the travel company, they implied that i was racist and were very rude to me. I would not advise English people to go here. Nothing against Germans at all. But they made our stay quite uncomfortable by constantly staring and laughing for no appartent reason. The resort is very nice with lots of bars. However, you are hard pushed to find English speaking bar staff. They never understood that we were not German.
