“Good value hotel with fantastic staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of October 2012 with 4 adults and 4 children. Overall, a good hotel. Quite small and would think not ideal in summer as pool area small and quite shaded. Rooms spacious and clean. Sofa beds for children in lounge area. Bathroom good - clean with good hair dryer. No bath but a walk in shower. Good sized balcony with table and chairs. Hotel very quiet during the night which is great. Beds quite firm but comfortable.
Kids club was excellent. Halloween extravaganza at beginning of week. Kids rep fabulous. Our children desperate to go to Mini club and mini disco each evening. They had great time. Never known them so keen to go to clubs!
Bar staff lovely - very friendly and quick to refill empty glasses. All inclusive drinks list not great. Not a lot on offer. Rose wine drinkable however!
Food in restaurant good but I couldn't stand the queues at dinner. Missed dinner twice as couldn't face standing in huge queue and we went out to a nearby restaurant on our final night. Lunch and breakfast not as busy tho.
Lovely pond in reception with turtles which was a big hit with our children. Cala ratjada itself lovely resort. Marina really pretty with lovely restaurants and cafes along edge. Fabulous ice cream shop on corner which we visited three times. Girls loved the cherry ice cream.
Resort running down for winter - quite a bit closed or closing and limited availability of ice lollies and white wine!! Would be better in summer when more open. Overall tho a good break. Would return to cala ratjada.

Was a good trip to this hotel in October 2012 with my 3 kids. Hotel itself was clean and tidy and the rooms were spacious. I had asked for a pool view and was rewarded with a great balcony overlooking the pool and bar area.
Entertainment was pretty sparse and the animation was verging on non-existent for my 11 and 10 year olds. There were no organised activities for older ones that i could find.
Staff were all wonderfully friendly and accommodating.
Children were allowed in the spa in the morning time (until 13:00hrs) and thereafter adults only. This was good because you felt free to let the kids be boisterous. Was also good that the kids were allowed in as we had a couple of mornings which were drizzly. It is slightly worn (spa) and is probably looking to have a major refurb any time now
All in all a good trip but the resort itself was very quiet at this time of year!

Room Tip: Request a pool view as other customers mentioned on tripadvisor that they had views which were not a...

The hotel is very nice and clean. There is everything you need and i you want help, just ask!
Also nice for kids. Only the inside pool is only in the morning for the kids...
Breakfast is good. Near stores, harbor and beach

We have had this holiday booked for a year and got it quite cheap so wasn't really sure what to expect, after a 1 hour taxi journey my Wife two children and I arrived at around 20.30 on A Sunday night 19th August,
we were given our keys to the room by a frosty young woman on the 1st floor even though we had stated when we booked that we wanted a high floor, quiet with a nice view, anyway when we got to the room and looked out of the window we were horrified at the view, all we could see was the back of the restaurants and shops and paint tins and ladders and it was very noisy, we then noticed the sofa bed for the kids had no blankets on or any bedding lying about, and to top it all the air conditioning didn't work,
we went to the reception and asked for a room change and was told in a very stern voice by the young lady on reception that they were full, after a big argument and the young lady being very aggressive she said we could change in the morning but she wouldn't give us any bedsheets for the kids, another argument ensued and she finally gave in and had someone make the sofa bed up for the kids, I've stayed in many hotels and have never known a receptionist be so rude to paying guests, and seeing we've had been booked a year it was pretty disgusting.
the next day we went down to reception and a young man who had changed with the nasty young lady gave us the keys to a new room and then the holiday changed, the view was great and the air conditioning worked which was needed as there was a heatwave on,
the food was very good and varied, the entertainment was lacking a bit but the kids loved the animation team,
the pool is very small and muddy around it but it didn't bother the kids, also the piped music they played near the bar was constant and very irritating,
the bar staff were great and friendly apart from the older one pepe who was a bit of a grump,

all in all we had a good time and the kids loved it, I don't think I'd return just because ti was a bit small for us and the terrible receptionist and we had been booked for a year so you would have thought they would have been ready for us.

Room Tip: if you're given a bad room demand for a change of room

Stayed here for 2 weeks from 29th July 2012 and had a great holiday. Lovely hotel but the pool area could be bigger and i wasnt so keen on the decking around the pool area. Rooms were lovely and spacious and well equiped. This is very much a german hotel and being english we were in the minority so be prepared to go to the pool at 8am if you want any chance of a sunbed! Food was good with lots of choice. If possible, ask for a pool view as we were at the back of the hotel which overlooked the backs of restaurants behind which wasnt very pleasant. Five minute walk to a gorgeous marina and 10 minute walk to lovely beach.

Room Tip: pool view or front of hotel

Many reviewers had pointed out that "The Staff" make this hotel. How true that statement was. The Animation team were absolutely superb and looked after our children with so much energy and passion. In fact we found tha majority of the staff very friendly.
The hotel itself needs a bit of TLC especially around the "pool" area where the decking is in need of repair. Rooms were good but the air conditioning needs a boost as it was really under powered.
This resort was new to us and although it does seem to attract mainly Germans, we found Cala Ratjada offered everything. Would definately return to both this hotel and / or Cala Ratjada.

Room Tip: If possible go for a "Pool Facing" room. Excellent balconies.

We went for a long weekend break with the girls, the hotel was great - clean, good location, great facilties, , spa facilities and pool area. We went All Inclusive, the food was great and different every day.

Good selection of drinks and cocktails on the AI menu but they were very strict with not giving more than two drinks at a time but they seemed to do it for other guests?! At one point they wouldn't serve my friends as we still had drinks on the table when they had finished theres! It was not like we were on a clubbing holiday, it was a relaxing spa weekend.

Staff could be a little rude at times (hence comment above), the hotel had a lot of german guests and the resort itself was german including their bars which was not a problem but all the entertainment was in german. It could be quite noisy at night even in the rooms with people coming home late from the bars and there were apartments opposite on the main road which were quite loud.

Room Tip: For quiet rooms get them overlooking the pool area.
