We returned to the Cristina after a 20-year gap and were delighted to find the standards were just as high as in 1989 - and now the apartments have televisions and kettles!
If you're looking for a good value holiday in a busy resort with a fabulous beach, the Cristina is a great choice. It's very clean, nicely landscaped, the apartments are spacious and only two or three storeys high (though the ground-floor apartments can be a little dull at times), the pool is really pleasant, family entertainment is laid on at night and the maid service is excellent, with a healthy supply of fresh towels.
If you want to be within a stone's throw of the beach, the Cristina may not be for you as it is at the back of the resort and the seafront is a ten-minute walk away. But there is so much available in the apartment complex - well-stocked shop, poolside bar, restaurant, British newspapers - that we didn't find it a problem. However, you do have to consider this when you are lugging home supermarket shopping, and if you spend the day at the beach, you can't exactly nip back to your apartment for lunch, toilets etc. That's where the Cristina's pool comes into its own. Overall, we enjoyed the leisurely stroll back to the apartment through Cala Millor and the supermarket is on the way home, so it's not too awkward.
The Cristina has internet access but I found it way too slow and ended up using a much quicker service in a shop on the seafront.
Cala Millor is a super resort but do go to the Caves of Drac at Porto Cristo - you can get there by bus cheaply and the entre fee is around 10.5 euros. It is great fun.
