We returned to the Cristina after a 20-year gap and were delighted to find the standards were just as high as in 1989 - and now the apartments have televisions and kettles!

If you're looking for a good value holiday in a busy resort with a fabulous beach, the Cristina is a great choice. It's very clean, nicely landscaped, the apartments are spacious and only two or three storeys high (though the ground-floor apartments can be a little dull at times), the pool is really pleasant, family entertainment is laid on at night and the maid service is excellent, with a healthy supply of fresh towels.

If you want to be within a stone's throw of the beach, the Cristina may not be for you as it is at the back of the resort and the seafront is a ten-minute walk away. But there is so much available in the apartment complex - well-stocked shop, poolside bar, restaurant, British newspapers - that we didn't find it a problem. However, you do have to consider this when you are lugging home supermarket shopping, and if you spend the day at the beach, you can't exactly nip back to your apartment for lunch, toilets etc. That's where the Cristina's pool comes into its own. Overall, we enjoyed the leisurely stroll back to the apartment through Cala Millor and the supermarket is on the way home, so it's not too awkward.

The Cristina has internet access but I found it way too slow and ended up using a much quicker service in a shop on the seafront.

Cala Millor is a super resort but do go to the Caves of Drac at Porto Cristo - you can get there by bus cheaply and the entre fee is around 10.5 euros. It is great fun.

The apartments are clean and basic centered around the pool area - all English visitors. I did not eat at the complex but there was a good choice of meals available. As long as you don't pay too much you won't be disappointed. Reception staff extremely helpful (all english speaking). I booked with an online travel agent so got this break relatively cheaply. Lots of families with small children.

GOSH where do you start!!!!! Absolutely fantastic, could not have wished for a better holiday.
We went to Cala Millor for my husbands 40th birthday as a surprise and the whole family enjoyed every second.
The apartments were very clean, everyone was very helpful and the entertainment was fantastic. The entertainment was aimed at all ages, our family consists of 2 adults, 17, 14 and 10 year old and was thorougly enjoyed all round.
We ate out all the time and the local resturants were fab although a little over priced. The best place we ate was 'La Sangria' very good value for the money and had a huge variety of dishes on the menu to suit all. If you are looking for something for a special ocassion we would highly recommend 'El Pescador' in cala bona and also 'Xaloc' which are both situated overlooking the harbour.
We would certainly not recommend the 'Rose and Crown' for some reason this place has previously been recommended, the staff were very rude and we were ignored on sevceral occasions.

Cala Millor and its nieghboring resorts still hold thier traditional spanish looks and not the commercial looks of some other resorts on the island.

We stayed at the Christina in May/June 2008 - 4 adults and five children.

The complex looks a bit ropey from the outside but don't be put off - it's well maintained, clean and the service from the staff and reps (Thompson) is friendly and helpful. The apartments we had were clean, functional and had all that you needed (including Cbeebies on the television!)

The other reviews will likely tell you this already, but this is a family/children orientated apartment complex; The evening entertainment is mixed (magicians, dancers,'cabaret' acts etc) but largely aimed at the kids. It finishes strictly at 12 midnight and we found that the complex was always quiet after that time - no lager louts.

The daytime events were well organised by Becky and David (David is actually a local) and the kids clubs were enjoyed by the little ones.

All in all we had a good time at the Christina and would happily go back again; I can recommend these apartments which are good value for families

  • Liked — Attractive layout (on the inside!), good pool and bar - easy to get about inside the complex
  • Disliked — Location - its not in the best part of town and further from the beach than we would have liked

Would'nt recomend this hotel, hotelier very rude.
I f you like a cold shower then this is the place for you.
Full of rough holiday makers that spoil it for the minority.
