“Stunning setting and pool, but needs some polishing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

The hotel is pretty, secluded and in a stunning location. Views and both pools get top marks. Plenty of secluded lounging areas with views and some with hot tubs to boot. The restaurant was overall very good, although a few blander dishes did come out in the evening. The bigger dining room lacked character and good lighting, however the cosier side dining room with exposed brickwork was very attractive. Buffet breakfast was superb. Overall the service was not snappy enough and some tweaks are needed. The air con didn't work, they only had one type of black tea on offer, white wines weren't sufficiently chilled and their champagne by the glass was not very classy. More staff are needed to offer drinks at the loungers and a litre of water should be made available for free daily in the rooms at this price. What with the air con not working we woke up gasping and had no option but to drink mini bar water. Extra swimming pool towel stands should be dotted about so you don't have to find staff to bring you one. If they could sort these things out they would definitely get five stars.

Room Tip: We booked last minute so got room no. 10 which was not a great room - quite dark and the window low...

The hotel has been given a 4* status, and it is truly at the top end of that range. We stayed at the Beach-house element of the hotel and the short walk from the hotel through the woods to our rooms along the coast was a pleasure. The views out across the Med. were stunning. Our cases were taken on ahead, while we enjoyed a glass of cave while doing the booking-in process. The Beach-house room is done in a cool white with flowing drapes and cleverly designed. We had our own designated space right outside our french-style windows to enjoy (and at night listen to) the great sea-views. A 30sec walk through the private gate takes you onto the beach path and on turning left and walking for 10min your are in Canyamel. When we where there, the middle off March, Canyamel was closed. Enough said. But take your time to enjoy what this great hotel has to offer. The grounds and the two pools offer great views, though neither are heated. We had Lunch outside on one day and it was beautifully presented and tasted great,we both had pasta-based dishes. The evening meal surpassed lunch in every way. My wife opted to miss the starter but the chefs (suprise) offerings were more than enough with great mains and satisfying desserts. We had a great 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hidden quality and profesionalisim of the staff. And just to finish off the mini-bar and alcohol drinks(alcohol drinks to be found in the communal room which has more great views) were gratis

Room Tip: Beach-house is great ( we had a side room No30) but if you want a full-sea view get one on the front...

My husband and I stayed at Can Simoneta for 3 nights just after getting married on Mallorca in July. Our stay was perfect. We have nothing to complain about at all. Just rave.

First of all the location is simply stunning and the 2 pools are gorgeous. We loved the one close to the beach house. Since the hotel is spread out it is very peaceful and you hardly notice others. You really get your privacy.

We stayed in a Suite with terrace in the beach house and our room was lovely. I had some of the best nights sleep of my life. They had a lovely open bar for the guests staying in the beach house. Very nice touch and very appreciated.

This is an adults only hotel. And I truly loved that. It was so nice to leave our son with his grandmother and get some time alone really relax, unwind and catch up on being just the 2 of us. We really needed a time out and Can Simoneta was the perfect place for it.

Both of us had excellent massages.
The food was great. Wines were excellent.

When we left we knew that we will come back. We have a feeling that this hotel might become our regular getaway retreat.

The setting and the general amenities are outstanding. Loungers are plentiful and well spaced out. Both pools are excellent and beach is only a short walk.
Food and service were excellent. The food was not cheap but of a very high quality. For those nights when not eating in the hotel, Canyamel is a short walk and offers plenty cheap and cheerful pizza/pasta places - as the resport is mainly German, the standards are high.
The only word of caution is that some of the rooms are on the small side. The buildings are old so this is to be expected. Our room was spotless and very comfortable.
Service was faultless. Go for the views if nothing else. We will be back.

The location and surrounding of this finca is exceptional. The proximity to the sea allows a bath in the sea, but there are also two nice pools available. The privacy in the pool area is phenomenal almost like on the Maldives, plenty of space. There are three guest houses. We were staying at the beach house right at the shore, wonderful. But be careful the view of the rooms vary a lot, better pay up to be sure you get a nice view. The minibar, as well as wine and coffee in the living area of the beach house are complimentary, a nice gesture. The service in the restaurant is a bit slow, you need to be patient. The breakfast buffet offers a good choice, the fruits were excellent. Dinner was a little bit disappointing and overpriced for what it was, bu the surrounding of the amazing landscape compensates for it. By the way, this is an adult only resort. Everybody is very quiet and respectful, sometimes maybe a little bit stiff, but we were thrilled by the landscape and will definitely go back.

We had an excellent stay at Can Simoneta. This is definitely an adults only hotel with very few facilities for kids...and thankfully as we had left our little one at home with the grandparents for that very reason. Come hear to get away from it all, enjoy the food and chill in wonderful surroundings:

Plus Points:

Foods was excellent - Buffets, BBQs, Huge array of choices for Breakfast and light lunch items....all very very well done
Scenery and hotel surrounds - All very clean and well kept. Great choice of different places to relax, from the pool to 3 different jacuzzi spots near the cliff edge (get there early)
Rooms - whilst we had probably the worst room in the hotel (above check-in area) it was very well done, nice toiletries, always cleaned and had all the mod cons you could ask for. If you go make sure to book the ground floor rooms near the sea (in there own separate house)
Staff - All very friendly and proffessional, no complaints.

Not so much negatives but areas where we would improve:

Pool - whilst clean and immaculate I certainly found it too cold
Hot water - very temperamental in our room (no bath but shower did work well, just a tad cold)
Activities - whilst you come to the hotel to do very little apart from eat, sleep and relax we did feel that there could be a few more things to do, maybe more books, few more board games, dvds etc.
Spa treatments - we booked a few massages which were really good, and an external masseur comes to the hotel. We chose to have ours in the room which was a bit cramped by the time the table was set up but it was good. It only they could add a few treatment rooms then that would be the icing on the cake.

The hotel is right up on the North east coast so I would reccommend you hire a car. We went to the main town which was further north and had some execellent fresh fish and there is a traditional majorcan restaurant about 5 mins away in an old tower which does amazing suckling pig. I can't remember the names but check out can simoneta on Mr and Mrs Smith and all the details of places to eat and visit are there.

All in all I would definitely go back, I don't often say that unless I really mean it but for a romantic few days away from it all then this is a great choice.

Room Tip: Book ground floor rooms in house by the sea, they are the best and have nice outdoor areas and are n...

The Simoneta is a nice and quiet 4 star hotel. We stayed in the beach house, which is right next to the see 5 minutes from the hotel. It has been opened this year and is very quiet, you hear the see and nothing else. The beach access is ok, beach shoes are recommended.

The Can Somenta is a quiet hotel, it offers lot's of space and absolutely gorgeous views. The quality of the food is good. Service is ok, the number of staff are probably on the lower end, probably due to efficiency and cost reasons.
