“Very nice, local food, friendly people!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

Good local food for after your hike in a nice atmosphere in a beautiful small mountain village. A small restaurant, with a terrace and some tables inside. On the menu Lamb, Rabit, Wild Boar, and other local stuff...

“A true gem, great food, nice staff and owners, nice location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

We came here on a recommendation and after a 2 hour hike we, stopped in for lunch. This place has great food over all, slow cooking, great salads and some delightful wine, and its not going to break the bank. You sit out on the terrace, or you can have food inside, in winter they are only open in the day time, but in july and august they are open in the eve, the guys that run this restaurant know about food, great service and excellent flavours, We will be visiting again.

“Well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We made the drive up from Frigiliana after a friend reccommended the restaurant at Al Acebuchal. We got there early (around 12ish) and the guys were just finishing up baking the fresh bread. We ordered lots of food and the guys (who were great fun to chat to) advised us that we had ordered too much for our party of four and suggested we share a starter. They were right. We had black pudding, chorizo, fresh bread to start, wild boar and suckling pig (normally you have to pre order the suckling pig) mains and then crammed in chocolate cake and ice cream. The food was truly fantastic so dont be put off by the road which we easily drove in a peugeot saloon. There is a map to the village on the wall near the roundabout in Frigiliana if you dont know how to get there. One of the highlights of our visit.

“Could be the smallest place with the longest review!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

If you are in the area, you just have to find Acebuchal, also known as the Lost Village. Get onto the dirt road, just beyond Frigiliana, with the mountain side on one side and a steep drop into the valley on the other. You can not miss the Lost Village at the head of the valley, it is the only place there. Do not forget your camera. Walk around the village, it will not take long and come to rest in the bar, small and interesting. The 'old chap' there will probably treat you like a long lost friend. Snacks are occasionally available and you could pre book a Sunday lunch. Drive beyond the Village (a vehicle with above average ground clearance or a 4x4 would be useful) and get lost on the mountain dirt roads for the rest of the day. Even if you do not venture beyond the bar you will find a part of Spain that is a shame to miss
