The first time I came to this restaurant I had the Malay curry. I'm married to a South African and spent quite a bit of time over there. This restaurant boasts being a South African restaurant, but the last time I went, they didn't have South African servers or any bottled South African beers, and the meat certainly wasn't South African standards or quantities.
My brother ordered an €18 rib eye steak, and we were very disappointed in how small it was. Rib eye steaks are fatty steaks anyway but he was struggling to find much meat on it! I took their special pepper steak which actually a lot better, but still not South African standards for sure.
The first time I came, I had the Malay Curry which was amazing, and this time we sampled their home made deserts. These were huge, and also amazing. Lemon Meringue Pie and Honeycomb ice cream were fantastic!
Although the servers were not South Africa. (Northern English instead) i could not fault the cheeryness of the service and willingness, so the service gets 5 stars.
It is a nice place, and I would recommend it. But we just found the steaks disappointing and overpriced when we went. I will perhaps stick to the malay curry the next time I go here.
