“2nd week of our holiday.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

This was our 2nd weeks holiday the 1st week we had stayed at the Leila Playa. They are supposed to be the same grade 3 keys but there is no comparison. The stairs up to the apartment ( we were on the 1st floor) were so dark and dingy even with the lights on. The apartment was very tired and the sheets on the bed had holes in them. We ate in the restuarant once but the food was not great, i had lasagna the pasta sheets were not cooked properly it reminded of dim sum. The lounge/bar area is dark and dismal. You definately need a car here as your near the top of a hill. We were lucky we had our car as we had driven down from our home in Alicante. On a lighter note La Cala market on a Wed/Sat is small but good. We had one very windy night and i thought the windows were going to blow in as there was draft coming in all the time. We would not come again as there are better places to stay in the area.

well cant make my mind up about this place, very appealing from the outside but must admit a bit dissapointed with the apartment.ok there was all you needed but no balcony.not impressed with the hotel staff.we went back to the hotel one night at 11.40 and the barman(antonio)said hed stopped serving!!!,we reminded him that the hotel bar was open until 12,he reluctantly served us and gave us the wrong drinks.not happy.however we did find a friendly little bar where we spent every night for the rest of our holiday.bunkers bar was so friendly, full of ex pats and very friendly, nice food cheap drinks and good company.come out of the hotel and turn right follow the road down and bunkers is on the right hand side about a 15 min walk.
mijas is hilly and if your after nightlife go somewhere else!,this was ideal for us we just wanted a quiet holiday so it fitted the bill, half an hour walk to the beach,no big deal,a few bars open and few shops.weather was brill(we went 26-31st dec),nice relaxing holiday golfers paradise if thats what you want.would we go back?yes but not to this hotel

Room Tip: ask for balcony

We have just returned from one weeks stay here. The only 2 negative points would be that if 1, you are planning on a beach holiday, you do need a car. 2, It is quite difficult to find even with a sat nav, but After reading several reviews on trip advisor prior to our trip, I made note of the directions that one thoughtful reviewer had given, these helped tremendously.

The accommodation was superb. It was clean (and the cleaners came on the Wednesday to clean and change the bedding) very well equipped and we even had remote ch/ac. The gardens are lovely, very tropical, and the view from our accommodation was of beautiful palms, flowers and birds.

We booked a cheap winter deal, and were not charged for any extras. It was very quiet, being January , which was perfect for us. We would definitely return to the Grangefield Oasis.

Have just returned from a 10 day stay here and can say that we enjoyed our holiday completely. As others have stated you do need a car to get around as it is very hilly and quite a walk from the restaurants and bars .The apartments are looking a little dated but are kept extremely clean and tidy by the staff there who are also very friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble.Prices are up a little on other bars and restaurants in the area .There are lots of steps in the complex so for anyone with poor mobility this might prove a problem .The outdoor pools were cleaned everyday even though no one was using them. The facilities in the apartments were fine for a self catering holiday and to top it all off the weather was lovely if a little breezy and cool at night .

Room Tip: Higher floors get more sun but no lifts so lots of stairs

Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel very enjoyable but a few buts the apartments were very good and clean and well equiped the outdoors pools and gardens were lovley you definatley need a car to stay at this resort its a 30-40 minute walk to couple bars and supermarkets its very hilly and quite steep in places. The indoor pool is 6 eueros a day which in my opinion is not right when you pay for your holiday you dont expect to pay extra for the amenities on site and there are a few other things you have to pay extra to the WIFI in reception is not very good couldnt connect a must is a trip to Gibralta to see the Rock and monkeys well worth it. Food is very good not usual buffet style but A LA CARTE from menu, evening enteraintment not very good all staff very pleasent but in all I enjoyed my holiday.

who would build a resort in this position, you need a car we just returned from this resort food excellent grounds and gardens great, but why would you have to pay for use of indoor pool, every facility needs to be paid in extras,ie internet pool darts pool table ping pong entertainment poor, if we hadn't hired car and gone out could be nightmare, rooms are good and clean overall it was a good holiday shame there is not much around but I would return with less expectation, and in summer which could make a difference, staff were all ok and friendly, but you tend to get fed up with the amount of stairs not a problem if your fit internet not very good in reception were its supposed to be free never got connected.

Room Tip: overlooking pool

My husband and I stayed at Grangefield Oasis Club last week in September 2012. We bought the deal offa Groupon and all I can say is WHAT a bargain!
The apartments are old BUT very VERY clean! The entertainment was pretty good beings it was out of season. The food was top notch! We bought 4 days half board before we flew out and it cost £79 each - its the best thing we ever did!
The gardens around the apartments are lovely, well cared for and the foot paths are cleaned every day.
The only downside to The Grangefield is that there is NOTHING around and you really DO need a car, we didn't bother hiring one for a week but if we go back again we really will.

We bought a fab day trip from the reception to Gibraltar - this is a MUST you really have to go and see the monkeys on the rock.
We would go back again!
